On this edition of the weekly buff we present a repeat customer who loves to bring us older vehicles that need some love and attention. This time around he brought us a 1972 Oldsmobile 442. The 442 option could be ordered on a two-door Cutlass, Cutlass S, or Supreme (except the Supreme hardtop) for 1972 which gave each owner options even though there werent many of these produced compared to other cars of the time. It came to us needed heavy paint correction as the paint hadnt been cared for in years, and the customer requested coating for protection after we brought the paint back to life.
The first step as always is a full decontamination wash and Jr and Lukus did just that using our EVO Shampoo, EVO wheel gel, and our Mild clay bars to remove anything abrasive from the years of driving prior. Once they completed their initial wash they also used the clay bar in more areas with our EVO GLOSS ENHANCER to be more aggressive on some areas of the paint. Once they completed that they moved on to the two step paint correction. They began with our EVO 800 Heavy cut polish and micrfiber pad to remove the heavy scratches and swirls. After they finished that they moved on to the polishing step with our EVO 2000 finishing polish to remove any haze and final light scratches that may have been left over.
Once they completed that they began the ceramic coating process using our EVO PRO 9H TITANIUM over the entire paint finish to layers to provide 6 years of protection. Marcus also helped us out with the application of our EVO TRV to provide a matte finish to the tires that wont sling all over the vehicle, as well as our EVO DEMON GLOSS to the chrome wheels to provide a light polymer protection that will also add shine to the beautiful wheels.
Once everything was complete and the owner came to pick it up He loved the outcome and was thrilled to drive it as the paint now looked like glass and had amazing reflections.
