Correction: 17:13 I mean focal length of your TELESCOPE (not your camera). Sorry for that! Please also watch my first Beginner Pixinsight Tutorial video: th-cam.com/video/y3l0II914RM/w-d-xo.html
First time using Pixinsight. Had the same M51 target and followed along really easily. Pleased with my end result. Very much appreciate your time and effort doing this tutorial THANK YOU
Your comment made my day. Thanks so much for your kind words. THIS is exactly why I'm doing videos - this means a lot to me. So great that you're happy with your results after your first steps in Pixinsight. 👍🏼 If your are interested how to get those star catalogues (for image solving 17:51) please also watch my first Pixinisght tutorial. (If you have narrowband data or will have in the future: I will release a new video this Saturday (part 2) in which I will show the principle on how to add Ha and OIII data to your already processed image.) - Thanks again & clear skies. :)
I have learnt more in 2 session on your channel about PI then I have since I got PI a year ago !! 🙂 I have subscribed and need to slowly go though these again as the masking is a problem for understanding and visualisation not the actual steps :-) thanks !
Thanks so much for you kind comment. I#m so happy that my video(s) has been useful for you. Thanks also especially for subscribing. 👍🏼 Yeah, masking is really difficult sometimes and needs some time..but it's also really helpful and personally I think it's good to invest some time sometimes. I'm planning to do more PI tutorials in the future. Hope you will like them as well. 😊 Clear skies and thanks again!
@@tullyfisher I'm more than sure!) Photoshop allows you to work even with the infrared range, the only limitation is the digital limitation raw a file from which it is possible to extract only what is recorded; other nuances will appear when you delete the parameters of the scanning sensors and, accordingly, the parameters raw bit depth and frequency range and resolution
I can not really comment on that since I never worked with Photoshop for astro image processing. I'm really happy with Pixinsight. There are great plug-ins, it's a dedicated astro program and I only have to pay once for the software. If you are happy that great 👍🏻. cs
