      Yeah, good luck with the last part about clear skies. It really is the wrong part of the world for astro. :D Glad it's helping you though with your processing. Just so much to learn in this hobby!

    Well done sir... Not too fast and not complicated. I've been using PI for about 1 1/2 years now, but still picked up a few good tips from this. Thanks a lot for doing this.

      Thanks for the lovely feedback. It is a challenge to squeeze everything into a video that TH-cam will be happy with from a video length point. I'm super pleased that you've learnt something too even with your experience and that's why I think it's great to share different ways of working.

    Wow! Thanks for providing an overview of your work process. It has helped me, as someone new to processing, understand a possible order of the component tasks.

      Thanks Tony. I completely agree. The more people share the better and we can all learn. Also, if something is not a good approach people can say in the comments.

    SUPERB!!! I‘m still on SIRIL, but always thinking about switching over to PI…

    • @astrojourneyuk
      @astrojourneyuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve not yet tried SIRIL properly however, it’s definitely way better than trying someone like photoshop in my opinion because it’s still a specialist tool.

    Outstanding video Marc. I've played around with PI enough now to fully understand your workflow. This is now my go to PI workflow. I really appreciate your efforts. Do you have a galaxy workflow video?

    Love this video Marc. How do I keep the processing icons loaded on screen so that they are already there when I start PI each time

    • @astrojourneyuk
      @astrojourneyuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      I always just double click the process icon file which then opens PixInsight. I have a different file for mono cameras to one shot colour cameras. There are some ways to do what you want to but I had a quick look and it’s not that straight forward which seems to be the PixInsight way for some things. 😂 I’ll keep looking.

    Great video! I've been using an older version of Pixinsight for several years. I just upgraded. It sure is easier now! But, I have one problem. I can't see to locate your process icons.

    • @astrojourneyuk
      @astrojourneyuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      The typical issue here is that the screen resolution is different. If you can’t find them they are likely on the right. Scroll over and you should find them.

    Anything like EZ Soft Stretch available now that that's gone?

      It’s still there. Google it and you’ll find that someone else has taken up the project now fortunately.

    I get completely hung up on Range Selection/Nebula Masking. When i adjust the lower limit slider, screen in preview window goes from white to black at 0.020000 and stays black all the way up. Lost at this point.

    Thanks for the great video. I have the latest pixinsight and tried loading OneShotColourWorkflow.xpsm and it gives errors- " error parsing instance element .... unkown process: ...."

    • @astrojourneyuk
      @astrojourneyuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, that will likely be due to you not having the Xterminetor tools. The rest of the processes should load though. 🤞

    NOT for the beginer at 3:57 mins i glazed over and had to stop!

    • @astrojourneyuk

      I guess there are many levels of beginner. Image capture, pre processing and post processing. To go through somethings start to finish at a beginner level could take some time. Thanks for the feedback.

    A bit annoying when you start watching a tutorial on Pixinsight only to find you have to go off and pay for 3rd party add-ons. Shame because the overall presentation is very good.

    • @astrojourneyuk
      @astrojourneyuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry about that. I’ll do some in the future where it is all just PixInsight.

      Thought the video was excellent as new Pi user. Thank You - can’t wait to add your process icons and rewatch your nebula processing. I did click on link for icons (on phone) and it seems like a text file. Do i just save as Pi’s format/file extension and Pi will know to build process icons ?? Please do more videos and additional costs always come into play. Astronomy/Astrophotography can be an expensive hobby. My wife made me;
      A. Check to see if insurance covers it
      B. Video tape all equipment
      C. Build Excel spreadsheet

    Background neutralization??

    • @astrojourneyuk
      @astrojourneyuk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is done automatically as part of photometric color calibration (PCC). It saves an additional step.
