    Chad - This is really fantastic. I missed a few details the first time through the video, so I watched it again and got more out of it! I got all the tools you mentioned and they really work great. Thanks so much for this tutorial!!

    Hey Chad! Amazing 15 mins tutorial to make dust visible. I have just tested the tutorial on my own data and your steps finally give me the result that I have been looking for to get the dust clouds to properly show up around NGC7023. I will have to take another night of images but playing with the current data already shows an amazing result to me. Thank you so much for showing such easy but mindblowingly effective processing steps to get more out of the dust that we caputre!
    Keep on rocking Chad!

    Thanks Chad for this great video showcasing some of the latest tools now available in Pixinsight. FYI the LRGB Combination tool settings for Lightness and Saturation are counterintuitive. The 0.65 setting you applied for saturation would have actually reduced it. 😮 Try it on the Lightness setting and you'll see.

    My workflow is slightly different, you can run BlurX a 2nd time (or on a copy of your image), at all default values, to sharpen your non-stellar detail while still in linear state, and then remove the stars. You gain a lot of detail doing this step. Very nice image by the way, love broadband dark nebula targets.

    • @easyastroimages5818
      @easyastroimages5818  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. Appreciate it. Many ways to do these things these days.

    • @emuhead
      @emuhead 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      By only doing the Correct Only step in BlurX, it just means that the stars were 'rounded out', which is really only done so that SPCC can do its job easier. If you run default BlurX again though, you'll get the incredible detail boost too.

    Really enjoyed your video! some cool new tools and I just downloaded the Seti astro stuff so will play around. One suggestion you may like - in Photoshop, the Topaz Noise reduction tool is imo way better than noise exterminator. It's almost a miracle. I love the lum trick - I will try that, thanks for your video!

      @@easyastroimages5818 ironically I don't know how to do that in PS lol. the tool I love is Topaz Denoise - not the "new" one but the "old" one which works AMAZING -you'll never use Noise X again

  • @frankm81m82

    FYI, in the LRGB combination tool you need to move the saturation slider to the left to increase saturation, it’s counter intuitive buts that’s how it works

      @@yervantparnagian5999 I loved my red cat. They’re definitely some quirks when it comes to mounting things and getting the whole set up to just fit properly the newer might help some of that out. I definitely would recommend adding a few dovetails to the bottom of it to raise it up a little bit, so you have more clearance when it points towards Zenith, it was the last scope that I owned and used here on the channel and I took my best images ever with it and the 2600. The 533 is still an amazing camera but I would never hesitate to recommend a 2600 or scoring a used one for not much more than the 533 unfortunately bigger sensors is just always better, especially with those wide boys.
