This was an illuminating and helpful video on the inner workings of the VDO V120 actuator motor.. Many people will find themselves looking inside here to continue to resolve their P2015, P2016 or P2017 error codes and not realise there are a couple of traps waiting to befall them. I have a quick question for you relating to the position of the hall sensor partner on the gear marked 2 - the smaller of the two that drives the actual sprung gear with the hall effect magnet on its centre. The fitting of a correcting repair bracket for error P2015 usually causes a slight rotation of the gears, up to about 20 degrees from the normal axis of rotation which means everything is out slightly. So the raised segment on gear 2 around its spindle will not correspond fully with the sensors in the plastic cover. My question is did you remove gear 2 at any time and if so, is it in its original position so that the hall transducers get the right signal for the degree of rotation? This is tricky little part. Coils can go defunct, the motor if removed can be reinserted in reverse polarity and gear 2 might just be in any old position if its position when opened was not observed. Your input would be appreciated; I think there are potential issues that might help those who got into opening this after finding the P2015 repair bracket a la diesel geek or in the UK X8R appeared not to solve their CEL issue.

Would you by chance have step by step guide covering 2015 error code fix on 2010 Audi A4 B8 . Engine with Sensor mounted on Plastic manifold . Little different to set up on your B8.

Hi I'm getting the same error code I brought the fixing bracket but still getting the fault code. One thing I don't see the actuator moving could it be the flap motor or blocked inlet manifold?
What will happen if I’ll delete the code without saving it?
I have p2015 and p2015 some times it happens but not all the time in my 2010 A6 c6 v6.
I have the same problem p201500 fault on my Audi A6 , so do I need to clean it or buy the repair bracket bracket kit on Amazon?
Would recommend the repair bracket as that is generally the route cause.

My mechanic told me that the repair bracket does not work or fix P201500 error & he tried it on 2 cars , so what do you think of this ?
I don't think that's entirely correct. The problem is that P2015 is more than one thing in my opinion. I had P2015, fitted repair bracket then got P2017. Cleared P2017 and got P2016 and now I have P2015 AND P2016. Isn't it great!
How many horse power this engine has ??
I cleaned the actuator motor and stil have an error code P2008 00 [039] - Electrical Malfunction, any ideas what causes this problem? I did check if the plug is plugged in correctly, the actuator motor has no sign of movement.
This is very interesting. I'm looking into a group of codes that centre around P2015, P2016 & P2008. I can actually hear my motor chirp to do something after I turn off the engine, but even if I rush around to see if the arm is moving, I find it is not. But something must have been moving to make that noise. What I can say is if you hear two chirps after shutting down, then things are usually OK, but if you only hear one, then something isn't right. I wish we could understand this mechanism a bit more clearly because I don't think its just a case of P2015 repair bracket. I think P2015 is more than one thing. I cleared P2015 and one point and got P2017 instead.
Apparently P2008 is an open circuit. So either something isn't conected or there is a broken or damaged cable.
My intake was removed and they replaced it. But the problem was the arm was loose plus I lost power As the arm was loose why would the arm be loose

Means nothing on a 4cylinder engine. Bank 1 and 2 would identify left and rights heads on a v6 or v8 as far as I know.

I used throttle body cleaner and it worked fine..

U can buy a bracket that fixes the issue off eBay for around £10 p2015 fix issue

Khally I fixed it myself. Bought a new pcv valve hose cause mines wasn’t air tight. Fixed the problem. So it could be what this guy is saying or or could be your air pressure from somewhere. Look for any tears in your hoses that connect to and from the intake as well as the pcv

Khally you can I suppose. I used my mic on my phone. But I mean run an obd reader on your car. Buy one at Walmart called micro mechanic. 20$ I used it meanwhile I got mine it’s pretty decent. If no codes. Just get it evaluated at a European mechanic who specializes in Audi’s

It sorted it for a month or so. In the end I had to install the repair bracket. (Google P2015 repair bracket). The issue is the plastic wears and the actuator moves a little bit too far.
