Strange that they would demolish the 100 yr old soundstage when they could have renovated it and used it as a universal museum of sorts.
They should have kept the soundstage. So much history happened there
Obviously, the most popular adaptation of the Gaston Leroux novel is the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. Those songs have a way of getting stuck in your head for quite some time. And there was one song that could almost literally hypnotize the listener: “The Music of the Night.”
The Phantom has kinda resurfaced in the latest Universal Monsters Maze for Halloween Horror Nights this year.
I'm hoping when "Dark Universe" gets going, we'll get a good representation in the parks...I'm dying (no pun intended) for some good walkarounds. Although the Phantom's Daughter sounds a lot like Operetta from "Monster High"...
BTW, "The Muppets" filmed in Stage 28 of the Universal lot and in the DVD extras Uncle Deadly is talking about the Phantom...
LaDracul I think you might like this th-cam.com/video/sdiKKf-Tisc/w-d-xo.html. This is The Universal Monster Maze they had at Universal Studios in California this year
I was lucky enough to see the Phantom of the Opera at Vegas several times....It was freaking epic.
Josh Sauer you are sooooo very lucky!!!!!!
I would give up my kidney and my first born to go back and see that show!
😂
Oh, Erik! You're not ugly! I think you're very handsome!
Oh wow! Imagine seeing this movie back in 1925. The audience reaction must have been extreme. Lots of screaming and fainting
Love Phantom of the Opera!
0:38 this line is beautiful and fits Erik very well, however, Gaston Leroux didn't write it. This line only exists in the 1925s movie.
They should have kept the stage as a tourist attraction, phantom fans would have traveled to see it in person.
Theatre of Horrors, sounds like an interesting concept for an attraction for HHN
Great job! Long live ... The Phantom!
Forgot to mention that would return to Disneyland, sort of Dianeyland Paris, in Phantom Manor.
1rhpsfan Phantom Manor has nothing to do with the Phantom of the Opera
I know but The Phantom in Phantom Manor is directly inspired by Phantom Of The Opera.
The music in the ride is also reminiscent of the phantom of the opera musical at times as well
Abby Jones you mean the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber?
There was also another musical adaptation of Phantom of the Opera preceding Andrew Lloyd Webber’s version, this one written by Ken Hill. It served as inspiration for Webber’s version
Abby Jones indirectly. It inspired Andrew Lloyd Webber to outdo any of his previous works. The human inspiration was Sarah Brightman who originated the role of Christine in both the Broadway and London productions of “Phantom.”
The ride system for the Phantom Theatre is called an "Omnimover", not an omnivore-mover.
16:00 I would honestly love to see that ride.
I see in the Beetlejuice show, the Phantom's design is a more based off with the boardway play's version of the Phantom, rather than the 1920s-1930s horror movie version, with half of his face deformed
Answerforlife 42 you mean Broadway, don’t you?
I just wish that they had started working on the film adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical sooner. I can understand that Sir Andrew wanted Joel Schumacher to direct the film adaptation from the start, but here’s who I think should have been involved with the film adaptation:
Michael Crawford: The Phantom
Meredith Braun: Christine Daae
Howard McGillin: Raoul
Also Starring
Stephen Fry: Andre
Hugh Laurie: Firmin
Rebecca Caine: Carlotta
George Lee Andrews: Piangi
Barbara Lang: Madame Giry
Elisabeth Stringer: Meg Giry
Based on the Novel by Gaston Leroux

Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber
Lyrics by Charles Hart & Richard Stilgoe
Music Direction: Michael Reed
Orchestrations: David Cullen & Andrew Lloyd Webber

So glad I found this video! My Dad & I went to that horror show with Mark James, I still have his autograph 😊
This video slaps hard. Thank you for your hard work 👍
Such good production and a lot of information. very well researched. Only 2.8K subscribers?!?! this channel is gonna blow up really soon :)
Yoooo Kings island represent!! I’m so glad you brought up Phantom Theater. Hardly anyone seems to ever talk about it anymore. Unfortunately, by the time that I moved to Ohio, they had already turned phantom theater into the Scooby Doo ghost shooting ride.
So the monster show in Japan is the same as the original Beetlejuice version. I did that show in 2008 as Wolfie. I then did the more updated version in its last year, which was in Singapore (closing in 2014). You can still find the Beetlejuice version in Japan, unchanged since opening in 2001.
What about the monster cafe in universal FL?
DogwitAbennie is the Phantom still there?
Why are u playing Swan Lake music during a Phantom of the Opera video?
I'm loving your vids though. I just discovered your channel.
Montana Banana It was used as background music for the 1925 movie and as the opening credits music for Dracula and The Mummy
jackielantern6 I would have tried to include some of the Andrew Lloyd Webber material including the Overture. According to Michael Crawford, when he first heard the Overture, the hairs on the back of his neck stood up!
He'd like it.
perhaps a bit late, but i think the phrase is wild abandon, not wild abandonment.
why not create vr simulations for forgotten rides?
mun bong choi that’s a good question. I believe that part of the ride still has to exist in order for the VFX crew to duplicate it in VR.
😲Wow amazing🕵️♂️😎👍✌💖💗
Me oh surf sand and Scooby waits what does this has to to do with phantom
At 13:06 you said "...rides and vehicles". What had you meant to say instead of rides?
Idc about the phantom's daughter lol for me.
I actually wanted to give her a bit of a backstory myself. Instead of being the daughter of the Phantom himself, he only serves as the inspiration for her stage persona.
Which park is this?
OmniMOVER*
This is barely about the Phantom
Why was The Hulk apart of the show? That seems like a stretch of a monster.
God knows who thought that was a good idea.
Well, he’s a man who transforms into an uncontrollable, rampaging being with green skin!
who's phantasias mom Christine?
