    Thank you 🤗 you were the only one who actually showed "how" to open the throttle body without touching it, out of dozens of vids I've watched (wheeww 😅 )... and cleaning it was a total asmr moment 😄

    Please do keep in mind sometimes after cleaning the throttle body your car might behave odd, the reason being car sensors being getting the stored data from ecu based on dirty throttle body , in a few cases recal might be required. Otherwise just pull the battery plugs for 24-48 hrs to erase the old stored data .
    Writing this from experience ( learnt it the hard way) 😋

    Thank for sharing this, I used to keep the flap open with a screw driver in it. Didn't think of turning the key to on position and place something
    heavy on the accelerator. Nothing serious happened when I did that but the way you shown is the right way to clean and do this.

    The Throttle body uses a computer based By-Pass when the car idles that is attached to the throttle body. It usually is the main issue as that large butterfly opens only when pressed to do so. When the gas pedal is released by the driver it springs closed but the air needed is supplied by the bypass. The computer determines how much via the altitude, air temp,and coolant temp. Loved however your sharing of some good tips.

    Might be easier to take throttle body off and clean the back and front if possible. I used clean woven wipes and throttle body cleaner when cleaning a 2008 Mercury Mariner. It took 12 wipes so obviously very dirty. I just had to disconnect electrical from it as it has no coolant lines going to it.

    I think this method is cool....but how do you get the other part of the circumference cleaned since that part is inside

      Turn the car into the on position, but make sure not to turn the vehicle on. It is the stage before turning the car on. Then once that is done, put something on the gas pedal to open the throttle

    Also should "power latch" afterwards to reset sensors and solenoids.

    Hello bud aren’t you supposed to have the car running and spraying the crc intake cleaner directly into the engine I’m not sure why you used papers towels when your supposed to have the car running or is that a different product called crc intake valve cleaner. Should I spray the intake cleaner in before or after an oil change and replacing spark plugs. thanks for the videos

    Lol... weight comes in handy. I use a 5lb round weight with a hole in the middle to hold my portable washer machine drain hose at the kitchen sink so I don't have to take it or clamp it..weights work great for other things besides working out

    Thanks for the instructions. Is it safe to use a microfiber towel instead of a paper towel?

    • @TheReffellGroup

      Totally, I just didn't want to go to the store I was in the middle of it.... and found out I had no microfiber towel

    • @JV-ix9rb
      @JV-ix9rb ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheReffellGroup I followed the steps and did this, at first it wouldn't start. I must have flooded it. The internet told me to hold the gas pedal to the floor and try to start, that worked. Idle was a bit high, but I let it idle for about 5 minutes and everything smoothed out. No worries.

    Doesn't TBI cleaner mess up your Mass Air Flow sensor or your Map sensor.

    I would at least use those blue paper " shop towels " . They can take more abuse from wiping friction and stay together . Those white ordinary paper towels could fall apart and pieces fall into the throttle body . Best I think a microfiber towel with short fibers and not too thick , to wipe back and forth .

    Bro it needs to be running at 2000 RPMs and spray it in in 1 second intervals, yes it’s good to hand clean the inside but your not cleaning out the internal carbon deposits

    Mine leaks water, why can't I by pass this throttle body, why does it need water?

    • @TheReffellGroup
      @TheReffellGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      leaks water that's strange....you cannot by pass it because it ensures the correct amount of air in the engine.

    • @chrisdenison930
      @chrisdenison930 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheReffellGroup yes,, I by passed it,, it has 2 tubes on bottom, this is for heat, in cold areas, guy said, in Arizona you don't need it, the throttle body has holes all in it that takes antifreeze through, to keep it warm, ...I never knew, I by pass, in 10 minutes, it's was a cheap 2 dollar fix, runs great, no leak, didn't have to buy new throttle body, save 100 bucks
