Great singer. Purely emotion. But in fact he was very afraid of going on stage. He overcame his stage fright with a lot of whiskey. I‘m not judging. I guess that was the price to pay for those amazing performances.
Wow!! I never knew about the stage fright--thanks for informing us!
I love his voice. So sad to hear that he dealt with stage fright. I’m grateful that he overcame enough to provide us with performances like this 🙏🏻
This man took soul to a place few have ever gone. A real phenomenon.
Thank you for another genuine and informative reaction from you, Jacob!! To be honest, when I very first heard of Joe Cocker, the first thought that came to mind was wondering if he had some neurological condition due to what appeared to be actual random spasms......until I found out this is just how he reacts when he's feeling some song SO deeply. He's just an extreme example. We all react in different ways, in different intensities, to something that moves us to our very souls. And with Joe, I agree with what you said, his performance is just so "SOUL-FULL" that it spills out into his whole body. I've seen that same passion (albeit in various intensities) with 2 of your other reactions--Janis Joplin and Dimash. Janis with her dramatic rasp and also seemingly aimless but slightly more muted, physical expressions than Joe.....as well as Dimash with his entire body to be used for emphasis at certain places, but especially with his hands, at ANY given moment. Plus I think you made a very good reminder about just how difficult outdoor concerts can be audibly--I sure as heck would not want to be in charge of that! As you implied, hopefully your sound people know how to compensate. I need to say thank you for this Godwink--I swear on all that's holy that just last night, I was suddenly hit by the thought about how, at the very next opportunity of a new Dimash reaction by you, I would say something about how he (also) experiences the music...and ESPECIALLY about his hands. While he's different in that he's always in control and guides them for the performance, his hands still just automatically react, like Joe and Janis. Anyway, and then THIS reaction shows up within 24 hours--same topic--just different artist! I believe that even if--EVEN if the audio was turned off, someone could still get a feeling of each and every emotion Dimash was trying to convey from observing his hands alone. And finally, I love how you always inspire everyone to not be afraid to show the world who you truly are, to follow your own interpretation when you are feeling some strong emotion in a performance, whether it be like Joe, Janis, or Dimash. WISDOM from a great teacher. So once yet again, my "phriend," thank you.
Lauri! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I agree- at first glance his performance style seems out there but once you start vibing with Joe there’s no going back! I think he would have been an amazing Gospel singer!
It’s hard to believe this was live! His voice is very unique! Soulful is right!
Agreed!!
Yes that s true ! Not only the Soul and the weird gesture. He pas perfectly on pitch
JOE COCKER, "A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS"..WOODSTOCK 1969 THIS GENERATION'S GREATEST CONCERT EVER..3 DAYS OF PEACE, LOVE, AND MUSIC ..I BELIEVE HE INVENTED THE AIR GUITAR...LOL
It was said, that Joe Cocker channeled not only the lyrics in his body movements, but all the instruments too!!!
I agree! So awesome
Air guitar.. he was the director
hell yeah, there is soo much soul in this performance.
Agreed! He was one of a kind!!
Has anyone ever told you, that you look, and sound like Tommy Shaw from Styx?
Joe may have invented air guitar 🎸
If "soul music" took physical form
Haha yes!!!
He does The Letter with Leon Russell live Mad dogs and Englishmen it’s pretty good I grew up with this music
I need to check that out!
So, you have a reaction channel where you're supposed to react to music and you can't even be bothered enough to listen to the song from the beginning? That's how little respect you have for the music, the artist, your audience and yourself?
first, love this guy!
Thanks for stopping by! ✌🏻
Because of the backing vocals this is not my fav version. It's great to see you looking healthy tho, Jacob1
The backing vocals are a bit shocking! You might be able to see my surprise when they come in! Lol.
@@JacobBurtonStudios ,lol. I did!
Interesting... for me thats what makes this version most likely the best.
Just the band and Joe... in front of 500.000 people!
I allways get goosebumps when I hear this version.
@@JacobBurtonStudios His backup singers for this song got stuck in traffic, so band filled in lol
Don’t dress the part if you can’t understand Joe😊 A hippi.
But I love tie dye!
Touché 😊
