    Soooo glad I watched this first! I was gifted my father-in-law’s Lingenfelter C5 a few months ago, and after taking it out of the garage for a Sunday drive, the right front blinker went out. I thought about just putting a puck in and jacking up the corner, but I heard horror stories about people jacking up a corner to replace a flat tire or something, only to have a catastrophic failure of sorts with expensive and severe body damage. That being said, I think I’ll jack it up under the front cradle and use my stands. Thanks for the video!

    For my c6 corvette I bought two light weight red low profile 2 ton 4 pump jacks from harbor freight, cost 110 ea. Plus the hockey pucks from Amazon ,14.99 set, took my used 20.00 rhino ramps I use for my truck and family car. Turned them side ways and sat the front tires in the ramp pockets. Thus no need for jack stands and was safe. This was easy , everything was light weight, and worked efficiently and perfectly with no problems. All for far less than race ramps and no having to mess with wood . Note after the front end was up the was enough room in the back at the jack point to get a regular jack in,( with hockey pucks) and raise the rear up to set the rear tires in my old used metal ramp pockets. This was far easier than anything I've seen on here,.....except the thousand dollar ramps . And I ain't paying that. My method was was cost effective and easy! Let's go Brandon!

    The problem with home made wood ramps is that part of the ramp is in your way as you crawl under the side of the car, Race Ramps makes a nice long low angle 2 piece ramp that detaches once the car is on the top of the ramp opening up the side of the car so you can crawl under it

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a Nice feature for sure if it works well.. That having been said, if you know you need to go pretty deep under the car, I usually just slide in with a creeper from the front.

  • @Oversight85
    @Oversight85 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Would it also be okay to use two jacks on the front lifting points? So, one jack on each side and get a friend to help you lift them at the same time to avoid flex? Then my idea was the insert jack stands, and do the same thing on the rear jacking points.

    • @Toys4Life

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I like to spread it out a little bit because aluminum can be brittle if you just catch the wrong edge. The wood deforms just enough to greatly reduce any potential issues in my opinion.
