So cool Alex. Great job on the detail and I love that you try to include your kids as often as possible. Great learning experience and familly memory. I still regret selling my '99 C5 in Light Pewter. Such an awesome car.
First off, congrats on doing it yourself and learning. Secondly, get rid of that Chemical Guys stuff. Its junk. CarPro, Meguiar's and Griots are the go to choices for GM paint. Being of a harder nature, you need a stronger compound to cut through oxidation and get down to good clean clearcoat. But before that, I would not have used alcohol to clean dirt. Even Simple Green would have been a better choice, soap and water being the best choice. I didn't see where you cleaned the engine bay, it desperately needed it. The iron remover you used from Chemical Guys is nowhere near as strong as CarPro Iron-X. But for the tools you had on hand, the car came out as well as can be expected. However, had you used CarPro ClearCut or Griots Fast Correcting Cream, you would have seen a dramatic difference. Also, when correcting, get yourself a forehead mounted LED light. Makes it easier to see the imperfections removed while correcting. Furthermore, when removing badges, try CarPro Tar-X as its an absolutely amazing adhesive remover. Just spray and wipe. Lastly, when doing a ceramic coating, its IMPERATIVE to use a light to check your work when removing. High spots can make or break a job. I don't know where your located but if you could find a reputable shop near you, and get their opinion (which is no charge), you will see the truth in what I am typing. However, what's done is done, I am merely hoping to share some of my experience with you. Keep practicing, its the only way to learn!
I support this comment and use the products he recommends. I use Griots Fast Correcting Cream and Sonax Perfect Finish when doing a 2 step. Also after paint correcting it's important to get all the polishing oils 100% off the paint before applying the ceramic coating. For this I use Carpro Eraser. For black trim I ceramic coat it with Kamikaze ISM. It restores faded black plastic and keeps it looking new for years without looking shiny or greasy like some dressing do. And it's super easy to use also.

I envy you, You have a Corvette, ( a car I have always wanted, but fear I will never have ) And you have an awesome looking Family. Congratulations to you. Good job.
If I had a dollar every time he said “I went to town” I’d be hella rich lol. Love the vid
2 bucket method not to scratch the paint rubbing the dirty hose on the hood 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂
Nice video as always
We appreciate your efforts
Perhaps for a future video do one of you super cleaning the engine bay, because honestly a dirty engine bay is just as bad as a dirty car in my opinion.
“just one video” that’s what i like to hear not a 10 part series to get the most ad money you can. respect it
This was a recommended video and I'm glad I watched it. I just recently got a 2007 Harley Davidson F150 in Dark Amethyst color. It's got a few bumps and bruises and this is exactly what I want to do to it. Thanks for the great information on products you used, I'll be checking into them in the near future
“So I pretended to agree so he could leave” classic
And right after that he tells about all the really expensive fixes, to have it restored totally.
So basically the guy was right about the price :)
When you hit that cold start for no reason. I knew there was a reason why I clicked on this video.
"I spent 18 minutes watching a dude restoring a corvette for 30 hours"

So cool Alex. Great job on the detail and I love that you try to include your kids as often as possible. Great learning experience and familly memory. I still regret selling my '99 C5 in Light Pewter. Such an awesome car.
Well done. This model of corvette is the best looking in my opinion. I'd love to work on an old car.
If Hoovie decides to sell his 500E AMG you should definitely buy it. This car would be more beneficial to your channel than his.
princesscarol05 Yeahs he's got cooler stuff
Mike K well said Mike! That is all 👨⚖️
I support this comment and use the products he recommends.
So nice. now,
full interior restoration
engine bay restoration
install LED interior lighting / LED exterior lighting
straight pipe the exhaust
cold air intake stage 2 kit
coil over kit
install touch screen radio (vehicle specific, they make ones that look OEM)
upgrade all speakers
take to chevy dealership for a multi point inspection
Fuck led lights there's no point in them. Just a bunch of dumb asses looking cool
That would look nice but that's a lot of money tbh
@@thelegendkillersshittyduff1335 Thats not what I meant, I was talking LED Headlights/Tail lights.... not underglow....and I said LED interior lighting, as in map lights/cabin lights, replacing stock cabin bulbs with led bulbs....
dog person calm down there bud, almost every new car has LED headlights, taillights, and DRL’s.
dog person and yes there is a point in them, they are brighter and illuminate the dark road much better than yellow halogens. LED’s last 10 times longer and use less power while looking so much more beautiful.
I just bought a 2004 C5, that's kinda rough around the edges, and your video gave me hope that I can polish it up!
Looking to do what you did with my 2001 C5 Bowling Green Coupe. I am much encouraged by the work you put into it, and being retired, I have the time. THANKS !
I personally dont have the patience to do buffing and polishing. Thats why my junk is dirty
I would like to do the same project on a 1987 or 1988 300zx.
My first car was an 87 z31 such beautiful cars
Just found your channel , cool vid . You gonna detail that Corvette's engine ? Like to see that
WOW!!!! Alex you just gave me a valuable lesson, and that is " watch this video before spending money" . I have 4 cars and had all 4 cars ceramic pro'd from my local detailer , all 4 cars had 10 coats , for a gran total $9,000. live & learn I could had saved a lot of money if I saw this vid. Thank You for sharing ohhhh lol.... Your Vet looks amazing good job :-)
Damn that looks great. I did this for 3 days with my 17 wrx sti. Take your time you get great results. Very satisfying results
Hey man, it looks really good but the rims! Strongly think they are way to basic. I used to draw these rims in my microsoft paint app...
Gtechniq C4 or Solution Finish would work much longer for trim restoration.
At what cost. Back to black is like $8.
@@JGMendez23 Agree, but solution fisnish is permanent !
I love corvettes and I cannot lie-
ok bye
First time viewer and subscriber. If you like the texture of it, Rust-Oleum bed liner works great on the black plastic trim. Scuff it with a pad and it lasts.
