I'm not here to one up or demean his project, however I'll offer my experience for those that are considering a throttle responder and you can take it for what it's worth. Firstly spend more and get more. Buy a unit that is adjustable and can be tailored to one's preference. Was my responder night and day? Absolutely, it's the #1 bolt on mod as far as I'm concerned. Everyone can do their own research but I would recommend looking at the Sprint Booster V3. Happy accelerating!

Thanks for your post. I have an automatic C6. I installed the Pedal Commander …. And the difference is AMAZING. I am no expert, but I think the increased performance would be LESS obvious with a manual transmission.
Thanks for doing this video. I had my automatic 06 C6 Dyno Tuned. One of the things the tuner did was to eliminate throttle lag. I guess this is what this device does.
I Took my C-6 ls3 automatic 6 speed and HP tuners and set the TB to be fully open at 75% and with no spin at the track I got no difference. If you change the torque converter to a under 3000 rpm stall(totaly streetable)you will bring the stock 60 foot time down 4 tenths of a second. Thats almost half a second which is huge.
I have a 2008 c6 It was awesome, but put stage 3 cam and fast intake,102mm throttle body ,cold air intake and polished and ported heads! Already had headers she is a fire breathing dragon without power adders!
I suspect the Redlight Bandit would create a more noticeable result in an automatic transmission. With the manual, it’s a lot easier to manage the motor’s powerband. Great video!
Installed it on my 07 base and it was on for a week. Initially, it was awesome! Took it only a week to give me the "reduced engine power" message which would not go away and the car would barely run. I uninstalled and reinstalled with the same result. FInally took it off and I am returning it. May not be for everyone....this would be great if they can get the bugs worked out!!

Went to the store came back out and started up and started driving and then it started acting bad where it was like running on half the cylinders. It said reduced power and had the check engine light come on. I had to reboot the car a few times and then it would work and then it would do it all over again. I also have an 07 base model with an automatic 6-speed. I wonder if it has something to do with the 07 with the LS2. Or I wonder if it being an automatic have something to do with it. Don't waste time on anything that still has adjustable lag like pedal commander and a bunch of others out there. Your buying something to eliminate the lag so just eliminate it all together. That is where the throttle mapping delay is programmed from the factory on all new vehicles . I'm now expecting to be able to make my Borla Atak system to bark from idle as soon as I hit it .
sometimes the power gained is soo little that unless you dyno test it you wont be able to tell a difference, the part only changes things in the car ECU hence a tune, the tune that part give is probably not nice, you sacrifice reliablity for that gain, the instant response in the throttle might be a nice thing but the lag or delay in response is meant so that you don't shock the car internal parts such as the transmission , imagine the diff and axle from decreasing in speed to a sudden hit with 500HP+ but the delay is meant to smooth that out so the car parts can last longer, another thing is it can change the fuel tune to either too rich or too lean, too lean you get more power but its more harmful to the engine its like the knife is too sharp that your not only cutting the chicken nicely but your also slicing the cutting board kinda thing, too dull it wont cut a thing but no harm was done there at least. just wasted effort in attempting to cut the chicken , too rich will choke the engine but it doesnt damage it in any way just more unburned and wasted fuel. this is my opinion but i have no way to confirm this theory since im going with what i know and believe is logical
I first noticed the lag in my wifes 2009 328 automatic. Then again when I picked up a 2012 G37 coupe. It was maddening.....Drive by wire is for the birds.
I think from a dead stop, in first gear, and you hit it, you should have felt something more pro active in throttle response., If you didn't then it's not worth the hassle. On my C6 automatic with paddle shifter in use from a dead stop at a light the 'lag" is noticeable. Your stick shift in first from a dead stop should have the same "lag." since no rpm's are built up and that is where you would notice it for sure. If you didn't feel anything then it's not worth it IMO. I'll pass on buying one I think. I Only saw you try it once from a dead stop. The rest of the time you were already in your power band mostly. Did I see that correctly?
My 2019 manual c7 has the worst throttle response in the history of all cars! Loll 😆 track mode with traction and stability control off is a tiny bit better but still stupid unresponsive! When i bought it i was disapointed with that but i got used to it i guess, doesnt bother me as much now
Have you considered doing a before and after dyno run. I had the computer on my C6 Base re-mapped and it just got wicked faster.. 477 lbft at the wheels. LbFt which is where you really feel the oomph. Stock HP was 430HP and after tune it was 460hp which is faster than my C7 cause the 460 is at the flywheel. It cost a little. more than $99 (ok a lot more) but it was well worth it. BTW order Bandit soon as they sold out a while back and the wait was several months.

I’m looking for my first C6 GS like yours. I’m going with automatic so hopefully I’ll feel more responsiveness. Is Lyle still selling this one or is there a better one? Thanks and loved your video!
If you don't mind me asking what year is it and what engine do you have? So far the people that I see having this problem seem to have the LS2 engine. I wonder if it's a problem with the engine.
@@SpeedCultureStudios Ok! I think this product does not work on the LS2. My car is an 07 with an LS2 and I was reading in your comments another guy was saying it didn't work for him and had the same symptoms like mine had. And he also had a 07 with an LS2. I think this product isn't going to work for 2005 to 2007. Those are the years they use the LS2. And then 2008 to 2013 was the LS3. I hope other people chime in who had issues.
No, but if you get 100% throttle quicker, you can technically be faster. Theoretically, if you’re getting quicker throttle response, rpm is dropping less or recovering quicker between shifts therefore making the car quicker. Technically. It would be nice to see some controlled testing though.
@@SpeedCultureStudios How long does it take you to press your gas pedal all the way down? 0.1 second? I don't think you're gonna improve on that much. The throttle blade doesn't lag behind the gas pedal with the stock calibration. I.e. if you smash the gas to the floor the throttle body opens immediately. It's not a delay, it's something called exponential output. The throttle input (your foot on the gas pedal) is linear but the output (the throttle body) is exponential. It's hard to describe, need a graph to represent it. But there is no delay in the stock programming, it's just a more mushy feel the first half of the pedal travel. Throttle controllers simply change the input/output relationship to make the throttle feel more responsive, not to actually open faster.
@@Carguylogan You can't have a "more responsive" pedal with nothing being changed. I don't have a graph to confirm and I'm not selling a product, so this means nothing to me--i've even said the product is not worth the money. However, now that I have removed the part, there is a clear difference between shifts. The only way to really know is to test it.
@@SpeedCultureStudios You can change the input/output relationship. If you mash the gas to the floor immediately, the stock calibration opens the throttle immediately. The difference is when you push the gas pedal down 30% it only opens the throttle 15%. By time you get to 100% throttle though, it opens 100%. That way it gives the pedal a less touchy feel. After the throttle programmer, 30% throttle input = 30% throttle output. Therefor you get more power at 30% throttle input.
@@SpeedCultureStudiosin drive-by-wire systems, the ECU is what controls the actual throttle valve based on the driver's "requested" throttle input. There are numerous algorithms between that driver input and the actual butterfly valve actuation including traction control, stability control, and interpolation to smooth out the driver input. This device and others like it seem to work by somehow overriding at least some of those algorithmic adjustments (likely the interpolation) to provide an experience closer to a 1:1 direct manual throttle where output = input precisely with no smoothing.
@@SpeedCultureStudioshow long does it take to floor it? There is no delay, I have a c6, it doesn't have one. You know what makes you "faster"? Good tires, lol.
@@moonrider99 good tires absolutely. I mean I’m sure you heard my comments at the end of this video. You can also check out my follow up review video. I’m not disagreeing with you 😂 But like I said-and like you said-if it sharpens throttle response, is it not technically making the car a bit faster? What is throttle response if not quicker acceleration? Even if immeasurable …
The difference in throttle position is all that is changing with this device. Good for people with a lazy right foot that’s it. The car will NOT be any faster. The power is the same across the board. This is why every single manufacturer of these giggle gimmicks makes no claims about improved track times. They can’t because the car will not be any faster. Learn how the car likes to be driven and get yourself a proper dyno & street tune. You’ll be glad you did.
@@SpeedCultureStudiosI think you're misusing "faster" when you mean "quicker". The actual speed is the same (since you're not changing gearing), but you get there sooner due to less lag between pedal input & throttle output.
I don’t think dogging is the right word-I’m not even sure I’ve been over the speed limit-but I am back and forth between supercharger or just mild cam and exhaust. If you’re new to the channel though, part of what I do is install, test and review products. This is just part of that practice-not necessarily something I would typically do or keep on a personal vehicle.
@@SpeedCultureStudios Then whats making the car faster?? I can hit the gas harder/faster with the same result.. your not making a c6 faster then a c7 COME ON MAN...
@@anthonypapa8676 man you’re throwing a lot of stuff out there that was never said. Who said it was going to be faster than a c7? I also explained the theory in the video. You must have been in too big of a hurry to leave your comments 😂
I wish people would stop with these cheap, useless little gadgets. If you're seriously racing your Vette, you'll have proper upgrades and a proper tune - not this pointless little thing.
Is there a product made for the 2005 C6?
Not like this as far as I know.
@@SpeedCultureStudios Thanks
They got anything like this for C5 Vette? I've got an 03 6spdManual
Wait... Did u sell rhe q and get the Vette?
So glad I have a 2005😒
Ur better off with an automatic with a progressive programmer. Corvettes are Cruisers. You can't shift as fast as programed automatic.
I don't know about better off, but autos are definitely faster!
Supposed to take the positive cable off the battery not the negative it's not good for your computer
I’ve never once heard to take the positive side off. And instructions with the module direct you to disconnect the negative.
Always disconnect the negative first or you run a chance of blowing your electrical system
This seems very subjective.
Maybe a few runs down the 1/4 will shed real light on that Gizmo!
Corvette 😮
It doesn't look to do much on video. Many products like this are just a resistor and a bulb inside
I hope you saw my comments at the end
🤟🏽🤟🏽
The Corvette is already a cop magnet. It doesn’t need anymore help.
I don’t think cops will know you have this
Wil work on manual is what I wanna know
Take a look at the video
It doesn't make it faster, lol. Just sharpens throttle response. 100% WOT remains the same.
So if you get faster throttle response, you should technically get faster after each shift-theoretically faster…theoretically
The actual speed is the same (since you're not changing gearing), but you get there sooner due to less lag between pedal input & throttle output.
good tune is liek $300 around here to clean up the factory BS and make it drive better all around...and no stupid china modules to fail
I think you should have used the same tires! By putting the new tires, it’s a total waste!
The tires were not safe to have on any longer
Will this work for a manual transmission???
Did you watch the video?
Since you are clearly dogging your vette , try installing a supercharger and go to the track

But you don’t want to skip then”before” stuff…
First!!
Ol’ reliable! Thanks man!!
snake oil comes in many flavors... this one tastes like shit
😂
sorry man THAT DOES NOT GIVE YOUR CAR MORE HP......
Don’t think anyone said it gives it more power…
@@SpeedCultureStudios Then whats making the car faster?? I can hit the gas harder/faster with the same result.. your not making a c6 faster then a c7 COME ON MAN...
@@anthonypapa8676 man you’re throwing a lot of stuff out there that was never said. Who said it was going to be faster than a c7? I also explained the theory in the video. You must have been in too big of a hurry to leave your comments 😂
Driver mod.
When you're already the best driver around, you gotta look around for other ways to get faster.
I wish people would stop with these cheap, useless little gadgets. If you're seriously racing your Vette, you'll have proper upgrades and a proper tune - not this pointless little thing. If you have your Vette for normal road use, you already have more power and speed than you could ever use on a public road. Why limp your Vette for this crap? Pedal Commander is just as bad.
Like I said, for $100 it was worth trying out. One purpose of the channel is to try things out and provide reviews. I’ve said it a million times, I spend the money so you don’t have to lol. Check out my follow up review-I think we are on the same page.
BEWARE: I bought one of these similar, DLX, and it died after a month. Only problem? The CAR STOPS DEAD IN IT'S TRACKS with a bad throttle controller; you'll have to wrestle it off to get going again.
