- Gift and I returned home after spending two weeks in the Philippines. Our last day in the Philippines, we take our friends JR and his wife out to dinner, after receiving the check, our friend Cecilia noticed something wasn’t right. Were we being scammed or was this just another honest mistake? This was the second time something like this happened to us, in the two weeks that we were in the Philippines. Once back at home, we decide to try a restaurant that we haven’t tried before.

Great vid. My son and I ate at the Greek Taverna several times. Loved it. Very close to our hotel but we loved it there. Only ciriticism is that some things on their menu were not available.

Great vlog as always Gift and Joe. That platter of meat that Gift ordered at the Texan place was enormous! Yes, I think that wherever you are in the world, it is always as well to check the bill. I always add up the prices from the menu in my head as we order so that we know whether we have enough money or not and then check my figure against the bill. On several occasions their has been something added that we did not have, whether a genuine mistake or not who knows, but they have always apologised for the error and changed the amount in our favour. Loved JR's attempt at Gift's dance as they left you at the airport. That Greek Taverna looks great. I love Greek food and when I lived in UK went to Greece several times on holiday. That’s what I call a feed it would do me for a week we had snow today that is cold 🥶 and
My wife and I play a game of guessing what the bill in restaurants will be, through this we notice if something is incorrect, in Thailand we find it is more likely that they forget to add something rather than overcharge ( and as we eat at family restaurants of course we tell them).
They were good and interesting vids of philippines, as for the steaks, maybe they thought you needed two . lol
Good thing she caught that on the bill I probably would have missed it since I’m not use to their money. The dogs missed you Joe reminded me of mine when I would come home from a deployment.

When I go to a Greek restaurant I get their lamb chops or lamb shanks with rice and Greek vegetables yummy 😋

With all due respect to your friend, for the most part the Philippine Air Force does not operate many USAF 'hand me downs'. This may have been true to some extent after USA withdrawal in the 90's, and they did operate the F5's as front line aircraft for few decades, but these were replaced with Korean light fighters. Nowadays the small PAF operates aircraft sourced from all over the world. I think many of the utility helicopters are ex US
I always get scammed at McD. I pay for large Coke and it's the same size as the small Coke but more money. They get me every time.

Sometimes the bill comes in all Thai and I have no idea what the hell I'm reading.
Try Google translate on your phone, it really helps.
It’s funny how they always make the mistake of “ overcharging “ you and never make the mistake of undercharging you ,…. Although I take that back , I was in 7-11 in Phuket last month and I went in and bought a chocolate milk , it was 87 baht so in the back of my head I knew I was getting back 13 baht change , she handed me a 20 baht note and a couple coins and I walked out the door and realized something wasn’t right so I walked right back in and gave her back the 20 baht paper bill, and said “you gave me too much “ and turned to walk away and she tried to give it back to me but I pulled out my reciept and she looked at it and still tried to give me back the 20 but I wouldn’t take it , when I got back to where I was staying I pulled the two coins and the reciept out of my pocket to confirm I was correct in giving her the money back and I saw the coins were a 10 and a 1 ( so before I returned the twenty she had given me ……twenty , a ten and a one …….31 total ) so the only thing I could think of was maybe she was dislexic and saw the 13 which was clearly on the reciept as 31

I’m glad you had a nice time in the Philippines. I also tell my wife always check your bill. Before bill comes you should know approximately what it should be. Also when checking out at grocery store watch register to make sure your being charged correct amount. Joe your right about filipino food it’s nothing special. We have our favorite restaurants generally not Filipino food, but there is some Filipino food that’s ok.
