Joe I built a vacation home overlooking the ocean, beautiful with a swimming pool. When I sold it I felt so good. It was my worst decision building it. There is no need to have a vacation home. It was like a headache. The aspirin was getting rid of it. Who needs a vacation home when you can vacation anywhere you want in the world no headaches. Plus I invested the extra money getting income. A win win.

Sad to see you leave this cottage retreat, but I so understand your reasoning. With all the work that you have put into it the new owners won't believe how lucky they are. Is it normal in USA to leave all the furniture, fixtures and fittings? Or is that a Thai thing? Loved the 2 swans on the bed, just like a very posh up market hotel. Nice touch. I just noticed that I didn’t completely answer your question. It depends on the seller. In the US usually only the appliances Stove, refrigerator and dishwasher and fixtures are part of the sale. In Europe usually nothing and Thailand I believe the same.

Many nice touches in big villa but the sliding pocket doors are the best to me. Normal doors are such a waste of space.

Tell JJ that we wish we could buy his cottages especially the new villa. We are retired foreign couple and do not think we could own it due to Thai strict immigration law or real estates. So far anything JJ touched came out beautiful and very practical; he also proud of what he was doing that's epic.

Great video, Joe and Gift. Such beautiful places. For foreigners, we can buy the villa/cottage but we don’t own the land, correct? So if we buy such a place, how long can we stay in the house?
That is correct. Please see the link we provided in the pinned comment. Also, if you are thinking of a 30 year lease with the option to extend another 30 years, suggest you work with a lawyer/legal firm that specializes in property in Thailand, before signing any contracts.

Hi, Joe, Every year I attend the vintage car parade in Hua Hin, this year it will be held December 15 to the 17th. The host hotel is the Dusit Thani Hua Hin. Seeing Prachuap Khiri Khon is just down the road I plan to drive down in my classic truck. Can you suggest a hotel with good parking on December 18th.
You can try Prachuap Beach Hotel, I believe they have a carport. You can call them and ask. Here is a link.

Cottage top notch, but location, I'm not sure. Is it a sound investment for a holiday cottage. 5 to 8.8 mio Baht there, you can make a lot of holidays somewhere else and don't have a burden.
