  • This is part of a full crash course to learn Plasticity 3D which is the meeting point of CAD NURBS based modeling for the artists using mesh programs like blender 3.0. This beginner-friendly 3D course will take you all the way through from not knowing anything at all to the point that you feel you have unlocked the power of plasticity.
The best way of thinking of Plasticity 3D is CAD for Artists or the idea of sculpting with nurbs a little like clay. It's fast, easy and intuitive! It's still in beta but just WOW!
PLEASE NOTE: Plasticity is VERY much still in development and things might / will not work or go funny at times. If you can consistently repeat the bug feel free to let nick know via the feedback form at plasticity3d.com/ or via the Plasticity discord.

What a wonderful bevel tool in Plasticity! It would be a dream if the Blender bevel tool works something like that.

CAD Sketcher looks promising but would love to see more Plasticity video. As much as we all love Blender this program is closer to freeing us from Autodesk CAD programs.

It would be amazing if blender had nurbs surfaces like plasticity, it would make modeling planes just a million times easier.

You did a great job with this tutorial series. A lot of this would be hard to figure out without guidance. Plasticity is surprisingly powerful. Things that can be a real pain in other cad seem trivial. Definitely huge potential. I hope that it focuses a lot more on precision and control of sizes as it seems way to loose and hard to control at present. Every cad program does some things well and is terrible at others. Plasticity could be great if it gets the details right.

Hi, please can you tell to the developer of Plasticity if is designed for artists, and he intends to make it workable like clay, then he needs to implement in plasticity the graphics tablet and stylus pen as soon as possible.
I and many others use that now, even though it is still less good for certain actions than muose, for now, stylus pen is best suited for artistic use. I like not having to change navigation hardware tools when I switch between zbrush, blender or others, kinetic memory is very important! I have a hard time adapting to the navigation presets.

Seconded. I only model with a Wacom stylus, never a mouse.

Very nice. How do you hide of all the lines around the spout and on the handle? I have 1.1 and can't find it.

    This program was very interesting...
When will version 1.0 come out?
    I'm looking forward to it

I wonder if there's a way to import STL into this. I suppose it would have to do things similar to OctoPrint's Arc Welder, but in 3D.
