- This Thai Street is Too Wild for Me 🇹🇭 Phuket Thailand
The area of Patong in Phuket, Thailand is a popular tourist destination known for Thai night life. In this video I explore Patong Beach and the walking street of Bangla Road in Phuket, Thailand. Honestly, this is not an area that I personally like, and I don't recommend bringing your family here while in Thailand, but I wanted to show you this area of Phuket, Thailand because it is a popular tourist destination. I'm currently making videos in each beach town in Phuket, so check out my other Thailand videos to see the more family-friendly beach town in Phuket, Thailand. Thanks for watching!

Very interesting video, Jonathan! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! thanks for watching!
Wow, cant wait to see the next one. I should go there next year for my vacation.
I'm looking forward to posting them! Thailand in general I love, but Phuket specifically gets very crowded with tourists, which I don't love
Hi Jonathan, enjoy watching your awesome video always.
May God bless, guide and protect you throughout your travels/ life.
From U S A
Thank you so much!! And I wish the same for you!!

Mango sticky rice is sooo good! But they have so many other great meals as well!
Lami kaayoo!@@travelescapesOFFICIAL
Looking forward to watching.
Thanks for always watching, Jason!
Been following you, I don't miss anything 😂
Love those fresh seafood! Street food is a must try anywhere in the world!
I agree!!
Thanks for the virtual tour, only been to Thailand airport, that's it.
Good morning Jonathan, amazing place is Thailand ❤
Good morning! It is!
Awesome, awesome video. I always enjoy your videos. I tried gator bits when I was in the states at a fair.
Thank you!! How was it?
@travelescapesOFFICIAL it was pretty tasty. They was fried though.
ooo yeah that's a bit different @@bgalawishuslives3073
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL I wouldn't mind trying them grilled
Wow have a nice trip and a nice view ,ingat
Thank you!! Ingat!
Get hungry watching your vids young man. Admire your education of so many countries languages. Great vid today. Have to catch me some fish tomorrow. Bowfishing Tilapia. Always fun.✌
thanks for watching!! Catching your own fish is always to best way to do it to ensure that it's fresh. Enjoy!
Cool.Enjoy.ATM we are enjoying panglao here in bohol😊
Oh nice! Enjoy! South Palms is nice! And the Moadto strip mall beach, but that’s farther away. If you get to south palms early in the morning there aren’t other people yet.. I like to go there just after sunrise 😎 enjoy!
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL Oh okay. Thanks We are here for 7days but so far we touring around bohol by scooter Travelling morning and back in our accomodation afternoon😆 Its nice but after a long ride my butt is sore😂 sitting in the motorbike.Tomorrow will be at Henann beach resort for 2nights then gotta head back down to mindanao 😆
Luv your always smiling face, always seems happy, and your exotic Thai adventure. Thnx for the vlog. Thais seems to used a lot of spices, herbs in their cooking, makes a lot more flavourful, I guessed compare to Filipino dishes. Tcare, stay safe👍🥰
What's the crocodile like?🐊
Yes it's very flavorful but can be too spicy sometimes hahah... the crocodile was similar to chicken but more tough.. it was good!
OMG this is heaven on earth 🤩🤩
The food?
Horseshoe crabs. We have them here in Florida.
Really?! I’m surprised I’ve never seen them.. or maybe just never noticed them
@travelescapesOFFICIAL have only seen them on the west coast. We used to catch them as kids
They get way bigger than those.
NYC too.
There fairly common west coast of Florida. I’ve seen thousands of them during mating season before
Hi Jonathan, I grew up in New Jersey and on the beaches there they had lots of those Horseshoe Crabs at certain times of the year.
There was a lot of people on the beaches at Sunset. I guess that area is full of tourists vacationing there.
I don't know how I've never seen horseshoe crabs before! Yes, Phuket is one of the most touristy islands in the country. It's beautiful with amazing food everywhere, but the volume of tourists takes away from the charm (I know I'm a hypocrite because I'm a tourist too hahah)
it's morning here in the Philippines 6:51 am but it's already jonathan vlog update na naman ako :) 🥹 early my bfast 😂😊 hehehe have a great day in Thailand 🇹🇭 Godbless 😇ingatss
Hahaah.. yeah, I’m doing two videos this week, so one today and one on Saturday! Thank you for watching!
Happy watching you eating street food.No Crocodiles 🐊 for me i like the banana crepe’s look yummie!Stay Safe in Thailand❤️🩵💙💜🫰
oh yeah the banana crepe was delicious!
Thailand is safer than most western countrys where the Us are in the bottom numbers, main thing that happens to tourists are low level scams pickpocket and (drunk)westerners fighting westerners.
So dont be drunk stupid or naive..as in any county.
One thing is the roads..Never EVER drive in Thailand..That's really dangerous
I stayed at the Seaview Patong Hotel in January and plan to return in June.
There a Horseshoe Crab, found in the States in North Carolina and New Jersey
Thanks for the video watching from Australia Sydney 🇦🇺
Was there this time last year
Phuket is a beautiful place but expensive compared to the rest of Thailand
It's a horseshoe crab
Oh thank you!!
Yes ... and it's a pre-historic arthropod
Magandang umaga
Magandang umaga!
I've been looking to buy a camera for my upcoming Philippines trip. Thinking I had to go expensive. Then I see in the description that Jonathan uses a GoPro. And to me the videos look fine. I guess it goes to show, it's not the fancy equipment, but the content of the video that matters most.
Yeah! I’ve been using a GoPro in all of my Philippines and Thailand videos! They don’t work well at night, but other than that they’re great
Have a nice day in Phuket island 🤗😊🫰❤️🎉🎊🇹🇭🏖🏝🌴
Thank you! You too!
You're very adventurous for the food
I'll try anything twice is my motto! haha
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL hahaha 😝
Nice places from ph.
Thanks for watching from the Philippines!
iLikeit from Ph. 😍
My opinion street foods too many to choose, overwhelming for me I would be careful what you put on body,? good luck and stay safe and healthy out there 🙏 thanks for posting your video, informative and educational
Maayong buntag amping kanunay…
Maayong buntaaag amping ayo ayoooo!
11:58 he is saying "Japanese Oishii" which means delicious (or literal beautiful taste)
ooo that's probably what he was saying. I didn't understand him, but he definitely was talking about the food being delicious
13:07 Hi Jonathan. Great video. But why are you eating rice with your food?
😂 I always eat rice with it at night because I'm going to sleep soon and don't need energy, but if I eat rice with lunch then I'm lethargic for the rest of the day and unproductive. If I've already edited and filmed a lot in the morning, sometimes I'll have it with lunch because I've already accomplished what I need to do for the day. It always depends on what I need to do in the afternoon
Ayo ayo 😊
ayo ayoooo
Johnathan, that critter with tail is a Horseshoe.
oooh okay thank you!
Crocodile!!! sounds scary lol
😅 nahh it was good!
YUM bananna Roti is my favorite. Ir originated in India but has the Thai sweetness.
Yummy😎 yummy, yummy👍
Roti is delicious! Yeah! Thais love sweet.. it's a great combo!
Maayung buntag
Maayung buntaaag!!
Are to go boxes available at these food markets?
That’s a good question. I’m not sure about this exact place, but I definitely have gotten to-go boxes at similar places
Looks like you were able to get your Coconut back.
hahahah yeah I got it back!
When you were in the Philippines, what website or apps did you use to find hotels or resorts?
Usually Booking, com or Airbnb. I've even just opened google maps, found a place in the area I wanted to go on the map and went from there
Ayo ayo! I can't move on with your previous video... You just said "salamat" to a Thai.😅
wait... I didi it again in this video?!? When? 😅
In your previous video only @ 7:49..😅
😂
Good morning
Good morning Florncio!
We have the horse shoe crabs in north Carolina
Food looks good but more expensive than Hua Hin where I live.
How’s Hua Hin in general? I’ve never been there
Hua hin is great. Not party oriented like Phuket or Pattaya (there is a scene here just smaller). I picked Hua Hin because of the low key vibe.
Most sellers in street food is Myanmar even crocodile man and kra prao man also.
It's funny how quack quack means the same thing everywhere.
🤣
Hey man
Hey man!
I think for me that would be one of the most annoying things, everyone trying to sell you something when you just want to walk around, and continuing even after you say "No thank you." That was one of the things about videos in Philippines, when you're trying to eat in PEACE and people constantly coming up to you trying to sell stuff and can't accept the word "NO" and beggars bothering while you eat. They just don't understand how rude and disrespectful it is.
I think it would be more annoying if you were trying to sell stuff and a guy came up with a camera asking you all kinds of questions not intending to buy anything
@@Lairdini Agree, that door does swing both ways.
I might have to go to Thailand just to eat.
😂 you should!!
Going there in a month. Is it easier if I rent a bike?
Eating Crocodile?! 🐊 You won't find that at a McDonalds in America!
😂 no you won't
I hear Na Nai (sp?) Road is where to get cheap Thai food.
oh really? I don't know that area
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL Rong Bay at 157 Nanai Rd, Pa Tong, Kathu District, Phuket 83150, Thailand, & others I’ve heard of. The Happy Cactus is good, Mexican I believe. Both near Patong Beach.
9:59 Who are you asking here? Can you put them on camera?
Oh, you were talking to us.😄
I'm glad that I was eating when I watched this, or else I would have been tempted to start eating meat, again. That food looked delicious.
😂 hahaha I was asking you! hahha just thinking out loud
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL 👍
@4:50 That's a Horseshoe crab I'll be dammed but I've never heard of anyone eating them. My understanding is that it's blood is supposed to possess special disease curing properties. Let the buyer beware! BTW love the channel. Man you live an interesting life!
so Pattaya is a different place? I learned that one is red district of Thailand too
I've never been to Pattaya for that reason. It seems like that's the main area for it. But honestly you just see it all around tourist areas in the country. It seems to be around most of the nightlife areas
You seemed really challenged communicating, I didn’t sense that from you in the Philippines 🇵🇭
oohhh the communication in Thailand is nothing like the Philippines! Most Thais don't speak English well. It's very difficult to communicate with locals in Thailand while the second official language in the Philippines is English.
Horseshoe crab @Travel Escapes
Thank you for your response!!
It’s called a sting ray :) the fish you didn’t know the name off
That guy with the crocodile also has the hottest dipping sauce in Phuket
I get hungry and I want to taste the crocodile meat. 🤤 Are you going to make a video for the night life there? I'm kinda curious about what you said that it gets wild. . 😅🤔😀
It was good because of the seasoning! But chicken is more tender... I doubt I'll make a nightlife video. Those videos attract the wrong audience on my channel, and there are certain aspects of the nightlife here that I don't really like to be around. It's something tourists go see out of curiosity, but some of what goes on is just sad, honestly. I feel bad for the locals who have to participate in that industry out of need for money. Many of them don't want to do it but don't know of other options to earn a decent income. It's a controversial and complicated topic. I like to keep my channel positive and clean
It is horseshoe crab.
Horseshoe crab. It has blue blood and the blood has big value in the pharmaceutical field.
Hope you won’t miss Songkran festival next month?
I think I will miss it unfortunately
Bangla road is pretty tame. Wild is Pattaya.
Horseshoe crab ....they are getting harder to find as they are now harvested for its blue blood for biomedical research.. Some crazy food you tried. Don't blame you on the bar scene ...I videoed through Walking Street Pattaya before it got busy just to say I was there. I assumed that's what you were doing. Enjoying the trip so far.
Yeah exactly. Most tourists go to those places to see what it's like, and as it's a popular tourist destination it's something I needed to make one video on since I'm in Phuket, but I didn't want to glorify it, promote it, or even show much of it. It's a controversial and complicated issue... a different side of Thailand that all tourists find out about when they visit. I thought it was worth making one video there, but this will be the only one.
And last… don’t be a little bitc%‼️ Medellin Colombia 🇨🇴 #NewRich! 💃🏾💃🏾🕺🏾
LOL The crocodile vendor 😂😂😂 So what did you end up doing with your leftover? Do you pay after you eat?
haha he was funny! "Very good very niiice" ... I ate all of the meal and the crocodile,.. I ate most of the Roti but couldn't finish the last few pieces. Of course I paid! I'm not a thief! 😂
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL Hhahahahhah I meant if people typically pay before or after eating since the vendors were coming to you LOL !!🤣 my bad! Lolol
ooo hahah.. yeah, I paid before for some and after for some there
Phuket is blown out big time.
Hua Hin is way better...the Florida of Thailand.
Retirees and familes with a little bit of the party vibe. No husslers.
Super safe and chill.
That's a HORSESHOE CRAB. Its blood is used as medicine for certain conditions such as Kawasaki syndrome. Very expensive!
In the restaurant where you eat, all the sales staff are Myanmar. Except for the girl selling coconut water.
Oohhh.. How do you know?
Don't lose the flip-flops 😅
😂😂 that's why I carried them this time! hahah
Stay where you at that place way better here in the Philippines
why do you say that?
is that horseshoe crab?
Yeah that’s what others are saying!
Horseshoe Crab?
yeah that's what others are saying in the comments!
Local vendors know how to work their foreign bloggers!
🤣 yep… I’m fully aware also, but I appreciate their efforts and wanted food anyway, so we both win haha
Horseshoe crab......and actually not a crab. lol
Crowded but not a happy vibe like in the philippines.
I’m going to make a comparison video after my trip and talk about this!
Horse shoe crab😂
we call that thing a horseshoe crab
crazy looking crab
Little different vibe from Bohol, eh?
horseshoes crab
Thank you!
Walking Street = Soi Bangla
yep... It's a popular tourist spot in Phuket, so I knew it's an interesting place to make a video, but I'm not a fan of this street or the area, so the next videos will be other beaches and cities.
@@travelescapesOFFICIALI was there in 2006, a year and a half after the tsunami. I spoke with shopkeepers whose stores were still on the beach. They showed me the line of how high the water got there.
Lots of tailors there. I bought 7 custom-made shirts for less than $100.
Horseshoe crab. Have seen one cooked. Doesn't look very good to me. Be careful telling those guys "Next time, later, etc." When they see you "late" they'll say, "You promised, it's next time."
I’m usually careful to include the word “maybe” later
Idk I love nature and the thought of a crocodile meat hmmmm 🫣
Mostly 90% they are Myanmar, Roti girls too
Horseshoe crab.
Thank you!!
What’s the taste of crocodile?is that delicious?😂
it was like tough chicken! but the seasoning on this one was really good!
Crocodile meat? 😬🐊
hahah yeahhhhh
Tell me if gator tastes like chicken?
Repeating a word to mean more, very.., or far, is a form of pigeon language. I AM sure many of You have no idea of that meaning.
Wow I can see sun so hot
Horseshoe crab
You should teach a few words like you did here, in every video. Hope this is a good idea for you.
Why too wild?
A Controversial industry that I don’t want to get into on my channel. It’s not what I want to be a part of or show on my channel, personally. It attracts a certain type of viewer that I don’t want as a subscriber. There are plenty of channels that show it on their channels if you’re curious
Lived Phuket 20 years ago. Was a great place.now over developed over crowded expensive tourist rip off place .. trust me newcomers beware
I definitely agree! it's over crowded
Better than the Philippines I'm Filipino bytheway😅
Why do you say it’s better?

Most thai-food in Phuket is "westernized" and radically more expensive if u compare to the Real Thailand
