I can only agree with you again and again, I just spoke about these exact points with my Thai friend. I've been living in Bangkok for 6 years, alternately in Malaysia when I'm fed up with the city. It's a dream life and I'm so grateful every day that I get to experience it here. I live much healthier than at home in Germany, have lost 35 kilos, do sports, swimming and massage every day. What a dream ❤ And dont forget the beautiful girls everywhere... 😄

That is great news that Thailand inspires your healthy lifestyle, including the 35 kilo weight drop. I often tell my out of shape friends in the U.S. to come to Thailand to get their swag back, and their health. And yes, all the beauty of Thailand can be a motivator, including Thai women 👍

I'm living here 17 years, its not all cupcakes and roses. It has vastly improved, but it's not the country comforts you likely enjoy now, but it is safe, there's relatively no opportunity to leagally make money to survive, visa's are not easy unless you work for a company or make a company. You'll always hear the "good stuff" but rarely hear the challenges of lving in Thailand, Philippines, Lao's or cambodia. Just do you Due diligence when making a life changing move. good luck

I am Thai, had lived in California for years. I had a good life there, but still living in Thailand is much better. I am not paying $5.99 a pack for chicken , I am paying $3 for 2 lbs. of organic boneless chicken breast. I like walking on streets and see healthy looking people, see smile, it improves my life. The cost of living here is less than in the us. I know it is increasing but still better.

is it comfortable to you or us because we are thinking and or getting paid in US money? I read earlier comments of someone saying that "you cant make a business or thrive without having to resort to something the country deems illegal", I'm paraphrasing. From my point of view it is cheaper, as an American. I had the impression that its more difficult to have a decent paying job or to move up. Do many ever leave the country? do they travel?

Krabi was my fav place happened to be here for songkran and had a great time with lots of locals they are very good ppl and welcoming. Phuket was fun as well a lot of beaches and laid back vibes. All these places had plenty of nightlife and positive vibes all around. Besides nightlife also experience da nature aspect of it, monkeys, elephants, temples, big Buddha, floating markets. It was magical to me, also Food was always good whether I ate out or on da street, 7/11 blew my mind too lol all in all I wud definitely come back I fell in love an at peace. Ty Thailand 🫶🏼

Very good presentation and composite of local life in Phuket, as tourists, many do not know or experience that side of the coin. You probably add another 5 or 6 reasons compared to the USA. Political ineptitude, everyone's sensitivities, agendas left and right, drink the Kool-aid mentality, infrastructure issues, political correctness run amok, taxes up the ying-yang, etc. You should do a companion series on the cons living in Phuket. I am Thai, but I know the cost of private hospitalization in Thailand is not cheap, but still a lot cheaper than in US, Canada, or Europe. I think it would make sense for westerners that want to live in Thailand to have good insurance to cover their health here in Thailand because it can still hit your pocket pretty good if you get into something major. Other than that, I think life in Thailand is very easy going and very affordable, even if the optics of it is not so with all the high-end shops popping up. You just have to be more persistent and open up to dining in local shops and markets to get great prices. Cheers!!!

Yes! I love the local cuisine. I agree with you about insurance, especially after seeing foreigners who have an accident in Thailand without it, and then have to resort to a gofundme.
I should have mentioned in the video, I have Thai and international coverage, but for general checkups and the dentists, paying out of pocket has been easy and not painful in regard to the expense compared to the U.S.

Thank you Joe. I love working from Hualien, I like Hengchun too.
You will find the same peacefulness of Taiwan in Phuket. The difference is, Phuket is more joyful, lively, and warm-hearted compared to Taiwan. And Phuket is more comfortable in regard to service design, and more familiar when it comes to interacting with foreigners.
For me, the key to enjoying Phuket is avoiding Patong. In many ways, Phuket Town is similar to Hualien - both influenced by Chinese culture. Or, you could try furthest south for a more island vibe.

I still have NFL season and season tickets to home games in Miami, but my wife and I travel off season. We just visited Japan for a month, in Korea for 2 weeks, then we are coming to Thailand for a month. We try to do two long trips a year so keeps us on the road 5-7 months a year.

Mike, I miss football season in the U.S. Especially the camaraderie with friends and going to games. If pre-2020 this experience alone would keep me in the U.S. more so. But with the increase in tension and friction, Thai peacefulness becomes more desirable than returning to the U.S. for the things I miss, if they come with the added stress. I am concerned because I don''t do much here in the U.S. , although a lot of that is due to budget constrictions. I would have a budget of around 3500 U.S. if I were to move there. I'd also like to fine a wife or partner younger than myself, but not looking for any too young. It seems that is more feasible in the Philippines.

where I'm at in Tha Sae there are very few westerners and as a result very few western food choices
The good news is I'm only 20 minutes from the beach and walk there daily. I've settled into family life as my wife has 2 kids 15 and 12 so driving them to school and back is normal routine
Visiting the Islands when we can and overnight beach trips are essential for Me.
If I was twenty years younger Chumphon would probably be to slow but at 60 and bungalow rentals on the beach for $400 a month it's a great jumping off point
You may want to Check out Hua Hin and Cha Am lots of x pats and Western food
Wherever u end up the word will spread and the girls will come around so that's not really an issue in my opinion
My wife is 40 and I wouldn't go younger for a serious relationship but if just fun different story.

Good points.. your video captures a lot of what makes living here better life quality.. especially for near/post retirement age. However, there is significant adapting to culture here needed to be smooth sailing.. i.e. no public display of anger. I've been here 34 years.. couldn't imagine living anywhere else.. oh, fluency in Thai helps tremendously

Henry, wow... 34 years. Studying Thai now, and looking forward to it making the experience of living here even better. I am curious, where do you choose to make home in Thailand, which city?

@@PhilipJames360 all the reasons you mentioned.. plus the food is awesome, the smallest food cart offers such a selection of dishes, it's mind boggling! *Note, I enjoyed rice on arrival.. I'm in CM. Yes, the air is bad, we hide next to purifiers.. But I know the city extremely well, would be hard to relocate. From your video, it seems you do not need Thai to navigate your day. I was working on the floor in a factory of 1,800 worker bees.. fluency in Thai was not an option!
