  • Nick Wright joins The Herd to talk to Colin Cowherd about this historic NBA Finals, and what he thinks about how the Denver Nuggets have built their team for this moment. While Nick admits he would not fault anyone for naming Nikola Jokić greatest NBA player alive after winning Finals MVP, he explains why he's not quite on that train yet. Plus, Patrick Mahomes has proven he's on a level above other quarterbacks, but can he take the Kansas City Chiefs to yet another Super Bowl win?

Why? The tool has never been right about anything. He's acting like he only questioned if Jokic was an "all-time great" and in the top 25 of all time until today, but that's BS. A few weeks ago he was stating that Jokic wasn't even in the top 5 for MVP this season. Now he acts like he was just asking for a ring to prove Jokic' worth. The historical rewrite here is just preposterous. Fortunately, the internet has the proof of what he actually said.

He was gonna get torched on the same play that the Eagles allowed 2 touchdowns on the Chief's previous 2 drives, so he grabbed Juju's jersey when he should've did anything but. Eagles would've got the ball back with plenty of time to score a td and go for the win with a virtually unstoppable 2 point play. Before him players didn’t really do it. and outside of Bron, the only people/stars that have done it since LeBron have been KD (it worked), KD again (failure but they all got injured and everything that could go wrong did go wrong and they were STILL a KD foot size away from being in the finals and winning it), Kawhi did it (but injuries again) and that’s really it. It’s not as if we have a bunch of guys teaming up, every other year. The opportunities for it to happen are slim and I’d argue that they do work and are faster results the only issue is high risk, high reward type of thing.

He’d still be popular, but he wouldn’t be the super megastar that fought Floyd mayweather, if he wasn’t knocking guys out. That victory over Aldo was massive.
