    I actually found it easier to write notes on the iPad Mini 6. I thought bigger screens would be better, but the Mini is the perfect size for taking notes. Also it’s harder to hold a big like 11” screen in my hands while writing

    • @meii7914
      @meii7914 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      so you already have one and been using it for note-taking? how was your experience does it feel cramped?

    • @orlybabe
      @orlybabe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +49

      @@meii7914 Yep got one on launch day. I used it to write a long page of notes for work, and it did not feel cramped, it was actually easier to hold/balance while writing and the smaller size did not factor at all in the comfort of writing. I think because there is ample wrist resting space and the size is more proportionate to your normal handwriting size, vs on my old Pro 11” I would try to write a bit bigger.
      I started by writing this with the Apple Pencil, the first few minutes after I set up the Mini 6: Oh lord I hope writing on this is good. And the next sentence was: holy moly writing on the Mini is so awesome 😂

    I love my iPad mini 6; I just would like an application to take notes that also could include inserting mini videos or video shorts; I am 59 years old and I’m going to attend the University for the first time in my life. I adore my iPad and I do almost everything on it; watch TH-cam, Netflix, movies. I also have the Kindle app here and I read as much as I possible can. I also have some books and tons of PDFs on the Books app. I have tons of photographs in my iPad mini. I have my music here too. The iPad mini is everything I need and I couldn’t live without it. I just would like a Notes app that allows to put into it some videos and short ones too. Thanks for your beautiful and helpful videos. Congrats from Mexico!

    I’m a student working mainly with the iPad Pro 12.9 and the Apple Pencil. For me, the iPad mini is just the perfect device for everything, the iPad Pro is too heavy and big for like learning my Anki cards on the sofa or browsing the web inside my bed 😊

Since all my notebooks end up being destroyed in my backpack, I tried using my iPad Pro for note taking, but its so big and heavy + I bring my laptop to do projects so it adds more weight. I’m considering buying a new iPad, but I don’t know it should be a mini or an air, cause mini is cheaper, but I don’t wanna spend money on something I don’t enjoy writing on 😅😅

    I have tried to go full tablet mode as a student. I had a 2014 MacBook Air, which is dusting right now. Unless you have a Microsoft Surface, which I had, and is by the way, way overpriced for a tablet, it will be not enough. It also depends on your major. I have a computer science major, so it is heavy browsing, lots of typing, prefer big screen, multi-tasking, Drag & drops, software, office, its just my perspective. Yes, I know I am kinda biased, so I am truly grateful for other perspectives

    • @huum4430
      @huum4430 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had Microsoft surface. But I didn't like it... it make me feel that is better to have a normal laptop plus a normal iPad
      For its price, it is not a good laptop, and its size, screen quality, really doesn't work well as a tablet.
      Also, it has been difficult to find good programs to write. One note has infinite page, but the problem comes when you want to save as a a4 page and send to your professor. Others its just so much more expensive than good note...

    Some of the reviews for this don't make sense. This th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA works as well as any power strip I've used. Plug in what you need, be sensible about it & keep it movin' The construction is plastic but it's a sturdy piece. It has a single toggle switch & the swivel jacks are useful as well. Plugged in next to Tripp Lite Isobar takes some of these reviews with a pinch of sumthin' - does what it says & functions properly.Had for about a month. Perfect no complaints will update if anything changes.

    Hi, K! As someone who uses both the Mini and Pro (12.9 inches), do you think when you only use the mini for casual note-taking & productivity (& some drawing), do you inclined towards the larger iPad? Or is it sufficient enough?
    Planning on owning MIni for productivity & media consumption as well for portability but also planning a bigger tablet (planning on an Android tablet but thinking if I should just get an iPad Air or Pro rather). Also regarding the size, is 11 inches more comfortable in the long run than with 12.9? I'm planning to use it as a tablet-for-couch or bed not necessarily a laptop replacement as I still need a PC for my work needs.
    This will be for media consumption as well but with a bigger screen and some productivity as well if I'm lazy to use a laptop/PC. What do you think? Thank you so much for your insights!

    Pen and paper are the "Gold Standard." It works in all situations e.g. posting packages, sitting school exams, signing documents etc. Plus it doesn't need to be recharged and is at a fraction of the price. An a5 soft cover journal with a Refyne EP1 Titanium bolt action pen is the best setup I found so far. EP1 uses a Parker style refill that only needs to be swap out one to three times a year depending on the amount writing you do. I like the idea of iPad mini as a note taking device but it does not work in everyday life

      However, I think the iPad is sustainable long term. I’m not the type to rush to get the latest model. But different stuff for different people.

    • @withelisa
      @withelisa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@devina8203 challenging that "sustainable" claim, because most sources claim iPads are only usable for 3-5 years. Apple is notorious for designing planned obsolescence into their products (whereas my 12 year old Acer laptop still works just fine, but I digress) Would be interesting to calculate just how many paper notepads and pens would need to be consumed before rivaling the impact of this device. A thousand? Ten thousand?
      And, this is coming from someone who is coveting an iPad and binge-watching videos before purchase... the comment about paper has a point but dadgummit I want the shiny widget so bad

      @@withelisa While what a lot of what you said is true, you’ve also got to think about the space your notebooks take up (if you save them). As someone taking some pretty math heavy classes, I like to keep old notes to refer back on, and when you have physics/chem/calc/trig/etc it gets pretty annoying not having as much space as you would on a device.

      Head to the Apple or BestBuy store to hold each in your hands. Or find something in your house that is sized similarly to the mini and iPad 9th gen (a little book and a bigger book), etc.

      Ela disse que é perfeito para ela usar nas aulas. Principalmente nas salas que tem mesa minúscula, e para anotar em cima dos pdfs. Não é tão recomendado para fazer aquelas anotações grandes e bonitas.
      Pelo fato de ser pequeno, ele tem muito mais mobilidade para vc levar para qualquer lugar. E a tela pequena não foi um incomodo para ela escrever (em sentido de apoiar a mão, mas seria um problema se for alguém que gosta de separar a tela, ou escrever algo maior (no sentido do tamanho da folha)
      Vai depender para que vc quer comprar. Se vc já tem um laptop, vai sem medo (eu tenho um Microsoft surface e nao gostei... recentemente to estudando muito no pdf, e no friofico querendo ler na cama, o que uma tela menor facilita)

Writing anything on it personal or a story, using apps, using social media is too difficult. I rather have the small screen of mini ipad 6

      @@KDigitalStudio Thank you so much for your reply. I probably misunderstood the objective of your video "How to Take Notes on the iPad Mini". When I first saw your video, at 7:45 and especially at 7:53, I thought this was the iPad Mini. "Great how well you can write on this small device", I thought. However, upon closer inspection, I had to realize it was the iPad Air? Honestly, there were only 2 places where I can clearly see how you took notes on the Mini: at 3:30 (1 minute / quick notes) and at 6:00 (30 seconds / annotation of lecture slides).I think that is too little for an 11 minute video.

    I actually found it easier to use a pen and paper... the writing surface of the ipad is too slick, the pen too bulky and at the end of the day... all these gadgets tend to just get in the way. Besides, I can type on my computer/laptop about 5x faster than I can write so why not just type instead? Gadget overload at college.... 5:09 - demonstrates the issue exactly... folks get too carried away about making the notes look "pretty" and "perfect" on an ipad rather than just taking notes to learn and remember... just look at the tons of videos on TH-cam ... each one needs to look prettier than the next... and it is nearly impossible to replicate for the average college student!
