I really recommend checking out the r/AppleSwap subreddit if you're open to purchasing a used iPad. I've bought and sold apple products from there before and I've never had a bad experience. You usually get a good price and the seller will include their accessories as a part of the sale. Be aware, if you're going to buy the iPad new, there will be a major refresh in the spring of 2024, so if you can wait that long then maybe consider waiting for the totally new models.

When you start school though don’t just get an iPad for the aesthetic or just for the sake of it. Wait a few months when get into graduate school and use handwritten notes first to see if that works for you, instead of spending money on something you might not even need. Also there are so many hidden costs behind an iPad, it’s not just the iPad and pencil, it’s the case, the screen protector, replacement tips for the Apple Pencil because paper like screen protectors wear down the apple tip, and so many more not to mention the upkeep of the iPad itself, and good notes 5, which in the uk at least is £8.99 a month. I don’t mean to scare you, just to be honest with you so you know what you’re getting into. If you end up not needing an iPad then it’ll be a huge waste of money for you, so don’t impulsively jump into it straight away, wait a bit and try out alternative, cheaper methods to see what actually works for you. Good luck making your choice!
hi which model did you get? Edit: As a grad student, I'm unsure whether to get the iPad 9th Gen or the iPad air. I'm a stem student so it's mainly for study purposes. The 9th gen should be able to fulfill all my purposes. I just found the pencil charging aspect a bit weird compared to the apple pencil 2 for iPad air

As a student: these are some notes about using an iPad I love using the Magic Keyboard when I need to write an essay in word or test a piece of code in swift playgrounds, although it is not worth the price unless (like me) you can find one cheaper 2nd hand, a Bluetooth keyboard would do it for most people I agree that most people would be happy with the Base IPad, however I use an iPad Pro since I need the extra performance Scribble is really helpful as it converts my messy writing into readable text, which saves about an hour later trying to understand my bad writing I agree, an iPad is a must have for students :)

i'm going to buy an ipad tomorrow (hopefully) for uni so this is really helpful. i bought one in 2020 but only used it for a month before it got stolen and FINALLY saved up enough to buy it now. As a med student, its so frustrating when i go through papers at the speed of light and end up filling multiple journals. i also tend to lose papers so having everything in one place is really convinient. i hope these features are available on ipad 7th gen

Oh, if you can afford it, I recommend the IPad Air. It's the best of both worlds (base or Pro). The lady at my local ATT shop was really honest with me when I got my Ipad, she didn't let me over spend just for extra features and a bigger screen. Features I know wouldn't have used anyway. (Ipad pro). I'm glad I went with the Air, plus they have cute colors, I got purple 💜
I am a medical lab student, and currently i am thinking of buying one (I found alot of the stuff you study pretty familer so that backed up why i wanted to buy such an ipad), But I am trying to go for the pro since I think the M4 chip can help me in the long run with hefty tabs (I also like the multitasking; there are a lot of other options). But still working on the budget hopefully by next year i could afford it. This is the first time I have come accross your channel and i really liked the asthetics you made on your ipad, I will probably revist your channel when I buy the Ipad. keep it up with your studies

I have an iPad Air and I use it for school and they say it’s best you get an iPad and take notes with the Apple Pencil and more east to use than a regular pen or pencil and I study with my iPad for my exams and in books when you finish it your gonna have to buy another book but in the iPad you just need to create a new page and start writing but in some apps they have the microphone option which allows you to speak and it will write the things down whatever your saying. I rate the iPad 10/10😁
I finally got an iPad AFTER the fact that I graduated from my trade school. I really wish I would’ve had this back then instead of having tons of notebooks that I ended up losing or ended up throwing out. But definitely plan on going back to school soon and will be using my iPad. No more just using notebook/papers 😭

I was a kinda guy who never took any notes and there was one girl in my class who would takes notes in every class and make it aesthetic. I can't thank her enough for giving me her notes before the exams which allowed me to get "A"s in my Biology course (She scored B I don't know why). Now I realize how important it is to have aesthetic notes written by others.

Although I would love to get an ipad, I am currently faced with the choice of macbook or ipad. I am leaning towards the macbook due to the significant increase in power in the macbook, and the typing experience. macbooks are also thin and portable, though i am missing the touchscreen element. i am upgrading from a surface, and although i love the surface, there isn't a wide array of note taking apps, so i am unsure which one to choose! i honestly want both 😭

anyone else struggling with wrist/finger pain after using the apple pencil a lot? Feels so heavy and it eventually got so bad I've been forced to wear a wristbrace to let the tendons and wrist rest. Curious to hear your experiences.
