    Tried it. It worked. Went to dentist 2 months ago. 5 cavities. 2 quite progressed and 3 not so bad but doc wanted to fill them
    Swished with coconut oil faithfully each night for 2 months and drank 4 to 8 oz of goat milk keifer. When i went in for my appt, 1 cavity was completely healed, the other 2 were notably better. She put them on the watch list. So 3 out of 5 healed and healing. Thanks Dr. Axe!

    You are Fabulous Dr. Axe and so needed. There are so many "Professionals" who just want con people out of their money....I took one of my daughters for a check up when she was about 16. The dentist told her she needed a bunch of work done.
    I was very skeptical.
    I contacted a friend who worked in a dental office. She said that what my daughter was told is common for elderly people, and she was highly skeptical that it was true. So I took my daughter to the dentist my friend works for, and she only needed a Wisdom tooth extraction. The first Dentist was totally trying to con a young, trusting person.

    I'm 33 have only had one baby cavity. What works for me is going to the dentist twice annually. Brushing my teeth twice daily, flossing at night, on most nights and then always, always rinsing with a solution of 3/4 hydrogen peroxide and 1/4 water for a full minute, before bed. The small traces of hydrogen peroxide that remain after you spit it out, will continue to eat the sugar acids and bacteria from you teeth and gums.

    • @Magnulus76
      @Magnulus76 2 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Using a product like Closys or Therabreath would be better (both have diluted chlorine dioxide). Hydrogen peroxide can be harsh to the gums and teeth.
      Also, fluoride, or mineral based, toothpaste shouldn't be rinsed off as it works optimally if it is left on the teeth. I wish I understood this as a kid ,it would have saved me from getting several cavities.

    I'm so glad I grew up on a farm in the 80's, never a broken bone or rotted tooth simply because of proper and self grown nutrition. We ate Eggs, grass fed beef, open range chickens and vegetables we grew. All cooked in either butter, Lard or Tallow, vegetable oils were for starting fires or lubing our sharpening stones we never ingested that poison.

    I don't know if your information are correct or not but I know for sure as I was an eye witness of my 2 cousins complete healing of their tooth cavities. At the age of 10 they had both two holes in almost each tooth. They even inserted a toothpick from one side to another laughing about it. The cause was luck of calcium and other ingredients due to extreme poverty. After one year of quality food (meat and milk) all of the holes were closed. You can say their teeth regrowth. Never had a problem with their teeth since then.

      @@chabbidasgupta3280 I also believe that vitamin D from the sun played a very important role since my cousins they live by the sea. The main thing is that the holes were white meaning it wasn't because of tooth decay (black hole) but of luck of calcium since they never drink milk or eat dairy and meat wasn't an option since the age of 5. They even boost their high very quickly by the age of 14 by just eating dairy and meat, playing all day long at the beach.

I already had one tooth taken out 6 six years. After that tooth was pulled, I never wanted another tooth pulled. I found a book by Ramiel Nagel, who says the same stuff he is saying. I started making my own sourdough bread. Gave up nuts, whole wheat, oatmeal and beans. My teeth and gums are great shape. No more worries about my teeth anymore. Three things to mention. Vit K affects blood thinning medication unless taken regularly and the warfarin dose adjusted accordingly by professionals. Glutathione helps the liver detox and helps the body with the poisons in our system from tooth fillings. Thirdly, charcoal tablets clear poisons from the system but also clears all medication out too so be careful. Chewing it at first is heavily black but is known to improve the white colour of teeth without causing damage.

      Fix your diet and get off the meds. You can see that the biggest portion of this video is cut out grains and sugars and eat high fat meat and avocados. Every part of our body is a window into our diet. While some things are are weak spots and pop up as issues first, like teeth or joints, it all comes from what we put in our body. I tell people to have a garden and get chickens. The time out doors and eating a dozen or more eggs a week will help a ton. But cookies or skim milk are just bad for us.

    Well thanks a lot Dr. Axe because my broken tooth got worse and I got serious pain from an infection...
    So I decided to take this information wholeheartedly and added crushed garlic to treat the area and stopped eating my precious chocolate matcha cake and the pain has almost subsided completely.
    I got a little too complacent because my tooth felt better and was consuming coffee with lots of cream and sugar and ate lots of personal home made baked goods. After a about a week or so the pain came back so bad! I knew I had to do more to treat it so I took a few extra steps.
    One particular night I decided to put a cotton ball with some clove essential oil on the tooth that was hurting and noticed the cotton ball was bloody. The pain did not go away immediately but after cutting back on sweets and coffee it's already doing much better.
    As for the garlic application... Folks let me tell you... the active compound is so strong that they use it to treat drug resistant infections/bacteria in addition to the antibiotics that the infections tend to resist.
    It also burns but the pain of the infection made the burn less noticeable. There also may be a better way to apply it to avoid that. I don't know.
    Anyway, it's amazing that people dont "believe" this stuff works... Weird world we live in where you tell them something good and everyone acts like you're crazy despite the evidence. More so are the people who seem to WANT to wish ill health on you for spreading this information. Like you're doing something immoral? What? And what is that? This is about health and health is also about care. Where is the care in wanting others to suffer for this? Sadists?
    Whatever. I'm glad the pain is subsiding because now I can think clearly again.
    God bless.

    Heads up Dr.Axe, I know your from the USA but we have a channel 4 programme here called food unwrapped. They look at how different foods are made/processed/produced and where are they from. Their investigations in one of the episodes evaluated that manuka honey is infact a scam and that the Australians barely produce enough to export let alone being able to supple the HUGE global demand. The USA and UK rarely investigate labels and fine them which meant many companies are mislabelling average honey for manuka for the mark up profits. Its better to get local sourced honey as it reduces hay fever risks with local pollen being used.

      Most cavities are initially painless. When they become painful they are usually large and the pulp of the tooth can be irreversibly effected. I hope you have been to a dentist more recently to get an exam. I saw a patient last week that had not been to a dentist in 8 years. He claimed to be "the picture of health". I found 8 very large cavities and only 2 of them were causing him "sensitivity". I feel like asking him to get a second opinion. Agave nectar and dried fruits seem to be related to the cavity formation. He also does not clean in between his teeth with any method.

      @gdprice79 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The thing is, any dentist will tell you that incipient/early caries or cavities as they are commonly know will re-mineralize if you change your diet and stop snacking. This isn't some naturopath secret that your real dentist probably hasn't already told you many times. The pH levels of your saliva will remain above the level that enamels dissolves at for longer periods if you aren't snacking all day. Also without an easy sugar source for bacteria to break down they create less acid. So that's why sweets aren't the best thing on a regular basis. No dentist, big pharma or toothpaste company is telling you this isn't true or is trying to trick you. Dentist are taught in school the best treatment is prevention, don't touch a tooth with a bur/drill unless you absolutely have to. Decay that is past the enamel layer and into the dentin is decay that will only very rarely become arrested. Once past the enamel layer even in the rare event that the decay process stops or becomes arrested you will still have a hole in your tooth that is at higher risk or being a food trap and decaying even further. This is because the ameloblasts that make enamel cease to exist once enamel is initially formed. This formation of enamel is complete before the tooth ever erupts into the oral cavity. You can re-mineralize existing enamel structure that has early decay, in a relatively unorganized calcium phosphate structure compared to the way ameloblasts laid down the enamel rods in the first place as the enamel was forming, but once those enamel rods are completely gone from decay that has reached the dentin you cant get them back. In that case the dentist is liable to be sued for malpractice if you come to him for an exam and he ignores the problem or doesn't at least inform the patient that they have a cavity that needs to be addressed. You can pack all the natural herbs in a cavity you want but it will not fix the problem. If natural remedies are bactericidal or bacteriostatic it might help delay the progress of the cavity or if you are lucky it might arrest it but that's it you still will have a hole in your tooth. A filling is the best choice. Is it a perfect option? No way, but its the best option a dentist has for reliable control of the decay process when it has gone past the point of no return. Again, any dentist will tell you there is nothing like your own enamel but a filling will at least remove decayed tooth structure and has the ability to micro mechanically bond to dentin and enamel and seal out any more bacteria from continuing the decay process.

    Seeing as half the world's population are supposed to have toxoplasmosis, isn't it better to avoid goat related dairy products? Also, a dentist told me that raw veg are best for teeth, for grinding them into shape as well as nutritionally. He said to avoid processed food, particularly processed carbohydrate as it would stick to the enamel. And the most important thing I have learnt is to avoid fluoride as it blocks remineralisation. Calcium, phosphorous and vitamin d3, naturally sourced only, for bone and teeth laying- but again, fluoride blocks calcium ion channels, so fluoride-free toothpaste, and not drinking fluoridated water etc, are important. Must look to see if Dr. Axe talks about fluoride online... PS. I love the feeling of real organic kale on my teeth!

    I stumbled across this link by chance and it left me intrigued. I already knew enough about teeth to understand that the title would be misleading - you don't treat cavities naturally you can only take natural approach to prevent them. However, this gives me much better idea of the American dream concept and what people like to hear and pay for. If I study at The University of Kentucky I won't become a doctor. But If I certify as a chiropractic I can call myself as a kind of a doctor. From the series Two and a Half Man I understand that the audience can be too judgmental and not receptive to my medical advices. However, If I take 23 lectures and all six subsequent practice modules I can get certified as a Functional medicine doctor who can be saying that honey especially Manuka honey is perfectly fine for your teeth. Not because it was unnatural for people of old to eat honey and fruits all year long but because I put something new into the mix and of course because I am a batma.. ehm doctor. Authority can be amazing as Milgram experiment has shown. Almost 2M subscribers and 22K upvotes means that there is definitely some great and helpful content and I picked the quality of the sales pitch. Many doctors I know have their hands literally inside people all day long and don't use their remaining strength that's left to post videos on youtube or write books when they're still young. Their impact is therefore local (if any) but in my experience people already know what is right and wrong they are only unable or more often unwilling to resist the consumer society based on people's addictions.

    If i eat nutricious stuff without eating grains, and eat grains many hours later, would this be helpful for absorbing nutrients? Because my gut will have no phytic acid when it tries to absorb the nutrients... it will get the phytic acid much later. Or does the phytic acid stay in gut for more than 24 hours, so there is no point in doing this.

    I had a cavity developing recently, causing tooth sensitivity to about everything I ate. One night, I thought to put Sensodine Intensive Enamel Repair toothpaste on my teeth before I went to sleep, and I slept with it on my teeth. I didn't swallow it, but I didn't rinse it out of my mouth either. I noticed improvement the next couple of days. I would put it on my teeth multiple times a night, when I had to use the bathroom. I didn't do this many times, and I wasn't consistent, as I forgot some nights, but I did this for maybe a week. I don't feel pain in that tooth anymore when I eat the things that were causing pain.
    Disclaimer: Don't do this too many times, or you risk ostiofluorosis, which is basically ostioporosis caused by excessive fluoride intake.

      Its not well informed. A cavity can't heal. Cavity means a whole in the enamel that has reached the dentin. And it can't heal. You can only stop an incipient cavity (not yet thru the enamel) from getting worse by mineralization.

    Hello Dr. Axe. I don't have severe cavity that are harming me. There are like 2 or 3 on my back and side teeth. Though I've been brushing and flossing each day to maintain my teeth perfectly. I'm just curious that what certain food I should eat that would be crucible for my cavities?

    Has anybody heard of brushing teeth with probiotic powder as opposed to using comercial toothpaste? This has been suggested to me and I would like to know more facts before proceding. Thank you. I am getting older, and though I take excellent care of my teeth via brushing and flossing, I still have ended up with slightly receding of my gums in some areas and severe pain. Sensadine toothpaste is what my dentist put me on, but it's slow to help. I like the diet suggestions. Thanks for the video.

    The phytic acid is not killed. Phytic acid is the grain's protection and this protection transforms when germination starts and germination starts after about 12 hours in water.

      Definitely make sure you are getting vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorous. My dentist said that my magnesium and phosphorous deficiencies are contributing to my tooth decay. I'm still looking for a magnesium and phosphorous supplement (if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know).

  • @akbanhegyi
    @akbanhegyi 8 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    from my understanding phytic acid found in grains tends to already be bound to minerals, so they block some nutrients absorption but they dont leech minerals from your body. so why stop eating it ? Just make sure you're getting the miners you need to remineralize your teeth from elsewhere

    • @ledomc2007
      @ledomc2007 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They leach minerals. Plus, you’re eating bread and other anti Nutrients with almost every meal. What happens when you get 90% less minerals in your diet. Even more than 90% since most diets don’t have many to begin with. You’re screwed. Much worse than sugar. If you don’t eat whole wheat bread or whole wheat seed bread!! You’re done. Or grainy snacks/cereals. Those people get the most cavities Whole wheat seed bread gave me many cavities during a period of time where I brushed and flossed every single day, multiple times a day
