We do have great food apart from Ceviche.....Aji de Gallina or even Juanes con Cecina is a great pick. Among many other great dishes.

Thank you very much for this video about my country PERU!!!!. Just a friendly correction, Peru got its independence from Spain in 1821, not in 1879, as mentioned in the minute: 1:02. Actually we are about to celebrate 200 years of independence. However we were one of the last South American countries to achieve independence because the spaniards saw it as an strategic geographical point to re-conquer their former dominion.
Cuy or guinea pig is just one of the many kind of foods that we have, although it is considered kind of exotic for some part of the peruvians themselves. I better recommend you ceviche, but I specially recommend you all: lomo saltado, aji de gallina, escabeche de pollo, mmmmm, better I leave it there, I am beginning to feel hungry lol.

Thank you very much Alux for this video, I'm peruvian. Just a couple of comments:
1. The food is very diverse and delicious, the cuy dish is just one of the few "rarities".
2. Poncho is worn only in the Andes, so if you come to Perú don't expect to see "ponchos everywhere" as soon as you get off the plane...peruvian's looks and attire is similar to any other place.
Alonso GB people in city do t eat cuy. People in Lima are very skinny. The sizing of clothes is very trim.

I was in Peru last year. We all know about Machu Picchu, cusco, Lima and how beautiful they are, but what stuck in my mind is how delicious the ceviches are.

Peru, expelled the European invaders from Spain, on July 28, 1821, not 1879. There were further battles with the Spaniards in Junin, and Ayacucho, which culminated in 1824. After that, Peru was involved in a number of wars, battles, skirmishes, and so on, with foreign countries, and even, other clashes, in which Spain was again defeated.

Peru declared its independence in 1821. The las battle against Spanish forced was fought, if I‘m not mistaken, in 1824. Peru went to war with Chile in 1879.

You forgot to mention that Peru has 2 of the top 10 world's best restaurants in the 50 world's best restaurants list and 3 in the top 100. Also the consensus among most people who travel all of Latin America is Peru has the best food.
There is a remote place in peru where they wear only white and wear a pouch around their waist and seems to chew something the whole day. Could some one tell me more of such people?

My name is Craig Tucker. Last week was my birthday. My grandma gave me a check for 100$.I was SOOOO happy.But then, four kids from school came to my house and said i should use my 100$ to invest in becoming a peruvian flute band.They promised they would double my money in one afternoon.But the goverment arrested us, along with all the other peruvian flute bands, and took us to an internment camp in Miami.We begged to go home, but instead the goverment told us they were sending us to Peru.And so, that is why i am now in Peru. If i die, let it be known that it is because four guys i don't even like from school lied to me and took my birthday money.

1 Important note.. Its not Krasinski. Its kucjzynski (koo-chin-ski) Most Peruvians simply refer to him as PPK (pay pay kaw)
Also guinea pigs are called cuy (koo-e) and the drink is not a Piss-co sour... Its a Pisco sour. (peace-ko sow-er)
