Things You Didn’t Know About Qatar:
    1. Households have free electricity & water
    2. Citizens have free education
    3. Citizens have free health care
    4. Widows, orphans and retirees have pension from the government
    5. When a couple gets married Qatar gives them a free land to build their house
    6. Qatar will be hosting FIFA World Cup in 2022 & FINA World Swimming Championships in 2023
    7. Qatar won the Asia Cup 2019
    8. Salaries in Qatar are relatively high
    9. The al Thani royal family led Qatar for 150 years
    10. The Amir of Qatar has a down to earth personality

Salaries are only relatively high for skilled workers but with laborers and domestic workers mostly are underpaid, no day off most employers are violating contracts for domestic workers.

    • @revhead9897
      @revhead9897 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@benjieoguimas3269 Actually there are strict regulations that have to met by construction companies and other businesses or organizations that employ labor and/or domestic workers (I own a few businesses and so I am aware of this). The employees are definitely underpaid but that's for a reason. The price of living in Qatar is fairly high and these workers would not be able to support themselves with the salaries they get and raising their salaries would be inefficient and cost the country more money and consequently lower other people's salaries and all sorts of issues. The workers are provided transportation to and from work (construction workers and whatnot) they are also provided with a rent free facility.

I have been living in Qatar since 2015 and the following things (by item number) in this video are NOT true:
    4. Strict dress code - People are allowed to dress freely but should be moderate. I've seen many tourists and residents including women with either shorts or short skirts.
    11. Women are still discriminated - I work for a local organization and we have many women in senior positions. Also the universities are well patronized by the women and they are very futuristic.
    13. Faux Pa to admire a property, a car or someones wife and you will be gifted with it - This is a BIG lie
    15. The cost of renting - Rentals costs have dropped by at least 20% over the last 12 to 18 months.
They missed out about Al Jazeera News Channel (provides unbiased world news), Qatar Airways which is one of the best airlines in the world, some of the great museums in Qatar and has one of the best libraries I've ever seen. Qatar also has the largest Camel Race tracks in the world.
My humble request is to make proper research before publishing such facts to the world. Thanks.

well I'm Qatari and i don't agree on some of the content of the video . we have a dress code but it applies to Qatari people due our culture and religion but every one has the right to wear what ever . women have the same rights as men but they don't prefer to be in politics and its mostly self preference and the country do encourage them to be in all fields . and about the workers who work for the World Cup , the fifa did its investigation and denied all of that and thats why we are still doing the world cup . And about being censored we don't mind to be censored if we will be safe as every one knows Qatar has some issues with neighbours and thats I way to protect the country and the citizens and we are more that happy about that . and the last thing I want to add that we have one of the most successful global news organisation which is Al Jazeera so its not true that we are blocked from news and we don't see whats happing around . to sum up this video focused on the not necessary topics or not true and forgets about the good acute suffering it didn't talk about our museums or what we own in other countries for example that Qatar own harrods in London and Paris saint-german th-cam.com/video/tNVSjfzzwNw/w-d-xo.html. visit this link to see more of Qatar invests over seas . thanks

I've been living in Qatar for the last twelve years. The dress code is really light and they are so tolerant due to its high expat population. Qatar is super welcoming towards expats, and is incredibly safe. To those who say we are rich due to the cheap labor, that is mainly untrue. Qatar takes immense care of its blue collared workers, giving them homes and care. Qatar gets most it's money from Qatar Airways and gas/petroleum. 🇶🇦♥️So proud of you Qatar thank you for giving your expat community so much love and welcome. A bit sad this video did not portray you in the best way possible 🇶🇦🇶🇦🇶🇦♥️♥️♥️

I am from Sri Lanka and worked in Qatar for many years... All women are not required to wear the black dress. I used to see plenty of philipino / srilankan/Indian women going about their lives in fashionable dresses just like in any city . Usually the skirts are no shorter than 1-2 inch above the knee. Body hugging jeans are plenty. For expatriates above a certain pay grade, alchohol is available. Have seen people holding hands in the beach front( corniche). Qataris are probably the best arabs when it comes to treating their foreign workers. Police is quite fair and polite for an Arab country . All in all if you ever need to work in the middle east "Go to Qatar".

    a little correction
    1. the 26 hostages where Qatari men that where part of the royal family and the '17M' is a false information nothing is confirmed yet
    2. Qatar is not strict at all, anyone and everyone is free to where whatever they want as long as its below the knees
    3. segregation is not an issue here hence we got women holding great positions in the country. plus our universities are all mixed search 'Qatar foundation' for more info
    4. women are greatly respected more than men, a man can not disrespect a women or there'll be legal consequences
    5. admiring something doesn't mean you're going to get it .. unless its something small and the owner will give it out of free will.. giving a house is NOT true

1- It' not an obligation to give anyone what I own if he liked it over here, it's just an act of kindness that we do that. Plus it depends on how rich are to give something away. for example, building a
a house will cost over $1m+ & will take over 2 years to make so, it's not something easy to just give away unless your super mega rich and you have plenty more houses.
2- renting a property depends on the location, you can rent a villa of 4-5 bedrooms, 3-4 bathrooms, 2 x living room, 2 x kitchens and more for $3600.

about the payment gap women here in Qatar are payed more then men when their not married but once a women gets married there is this thing called marriage money were they give you 25 percent extra money and a thing called children money for each Childe and the couple gets to decide who gets that extra in their income also Qatar incomes are fat you get some serious money here and if you start a project they will give you a certain amount of money based on your plan and the project other then the lone if you need some extra also men here are required to pay for their wives and children even if their wives have a good income its a must that they pay and if they don't they will take a good deal of their incomes and transfer it to their wives every month even after they split also after they split women are given extra money for their children and for them selfs and they still get payed after they don't go to work if their pregnant the same exact wage so a pregnant women can stop going to work for more then nine months and still get paid the exact same wage men on the other hand have no excuse.

Qatar is an amazing place to live and visit . there are more positives than negatives in Qatar. the people are friendly respectful and accommodating. The culture is quaint and respect worthy. The traditions are its identity. You should visit with an open heart and you will find so much more than you thought. Do not forget Qatar is a very young country. compared to most of the world. Give it a chance and time to show the world its hospitality.

Congrats, announcer. You managed to mispronounce every single Arabic word except one (abaya). Names, places, things -- you even mispronounced the name of the country, for heaven's sake. If you're unwilling to learn to enunciate exotic words properly ( *Hint:* -- the trick is to write them down phonetically, this will help greatly), then you really shouldn't be posing as an announcer. Some folks (including heads-of-state) consider such lackluster attention to be offensive. (I'm referring to the world in general, not merely Qatar.) -- A suggestion from an *actual* professional announcer, an American who happens to speak Arabic, including the specific dialects.

Hello, Im Qatari, and I just want to clarify that Qatar does not force ANYONE to wear a hijab or an abaya, Qatar is a country that respects other religions, other peoples beliefs and what they wear, Qatar just wants people to wear modest and respectful clothes, in terms of respect, nothing more.
