- The script from this one is what you'd expect a tragedy written by Sophocles or Euripides to look like--you know, if they had access to Hearthstone. There's an exceptional draft and the protagonist has the gall to assume that this, in conjunction with playing well, would be enough to string together a good run, despite the prediction from the Oracle of RNG that it was not meant to be.

seeing you had a very very good deck but still didn`t had a good run actually makes me fell much beater when I get booned in arena and I just didn`t know why and how. Now I know the reason, and the reason is that lady Fortuna can be a bi%^h sometimes.

I am confused about something. Why did he draft many Azure Drakes despite not having any spells to compliment the added spell damage?
Trump feels like any card with 'draw a card' is good value, almost a free card. And especially since its a 4/4 its a great card because its like a free 4/4.
He (and most Hearthtone players) rates Azure Drake so high because of the card draw, not the spell damage. Think about it: You draw a card and get a "free" (in terms of card advantage, not mana) 4-4 on the board. It's the same reason why Gnomish Inventor and Loot Hoarder are so good: You basically replace a card in your hand with another one from your deck and get a minion in the process. And in terms of value for your mana Azure Drake beats all of the other card draw minions. The spell damage is just a bonus and even without it the card is amazing and should almost always be picked when given the chance
If you end up top decking at some point, its a decent minion, and it gives you an extra card
the other drafts were shit when the drakes poped up, so easy pick.
Drake is like the best card in this game! There really isn't any situation where you don't pick it :D Unless you don't have any early game and you must pick a low drop, but even then I would take Drake :D You always get that extra card + drake is 4/4 = really good minion on the board :)

This is how my arena runs have felt for the last week. "Yes! Good draft!" half hour later . . . 2-3 and shaking my head about the guy with 5 holy novas.
Corruption is used to force a minion to move. For example, if you use Corruption on an enemy Flame Imp while you have Sunfury Protector between Flesheating Golem and Gurubashi with Taunt, you are forcing them to attack you, or risk wasting the card away. Either way, it can be used to force weak cards to stay immobile, or force strong cards to move, attack and be used.
Very situational - If you used it on an enemy Abomination, you are telling them to attack with it and kill itself, ridding the Taunt and dealing 2 damage to everything. If you used it on your own Abomination, however, you force them to use their buffing skills or clear their own board so when it's your turn they won't be wiped away.
Because of its strange synergy, it's pretty low on my list when it comes to Arena. But I see a huge, viable use of it in Ranked though.

I love how whenever trump checks his personal arena card list, he always ends up saying "Yup, that makes sense." Yet it leaves me even more confused.
The arena is really just a roller coaster. I drafted a terrible druid deck which almost went 0-3(ended up a 5-3) and right after that a preaty good paladin with 12-1 final score.
Shouldn't an Arcane Golem at 10 mana give the opposing player Excess Mana?
Nope - it just does nothing.
Only Wild Growth does that.
It would if they had their full tray, but adding mana crystals when you have empty ones at 10 only refills them.

I didn't think the deck was THAT good. Not enough synergy
Corruption has value when your enemy must attack into a crappy taunt or a divine shield taunt like sun walker. I use it to soak giant and huge attack mobs. If they can't remove the taunt or the shield you get a free high cost minion.
I had the saddest hearthstone game yesterday, I was going to beat this guy but then my hand slipped and I attacked a minion instead of his face and I lost a game where I was at 1 health and he was at 25 health and I knocked him down to 2 health in 3 turns!! I was about to bring my pc outside and destroy it, I was so mad.
I think Trump sometimes undervalues his life points, especially in Warlock decks. I get that life is a resource that is designed to be spent but it's not sustainable to be killing yourself faster than your opponent. I look at cards like Flame Imp and Pit Lord as card disadvantage in exchange for tempo. When you damage yourself you make it so you have to stop life tapping earlier. The tempo advantage can be worth it but you can't pick too many. On the flip side, I think cards like Earthen Ring Farseer, Voodoo Doctor and Darkscale Healer can be viewed as giving card advantage instead of life (in a warlock deck) and their value as picks should go up.
you need to draft healing cards if you take flame imps. Pit lord sucks, I'd rather have 3/5 taunt that doesn't drain my life.

I dont really find Lord Pit very useful unless you are lucky to cast it on exactly turn 4 and would prefer to keep just 1 copy of Flame Imp. Just find dealing self dmg very depressing considering there is summoning sickness and countering with taunt and spells are largely possible.
Thats why i dont do warlock and hunter arena runs anymore, those hero powers are so bad in arena if u got shitty cards, and normal players dont get good cards just once in a while,

Someone do the math of what would win 30 ice blocks vs 30 soul fires.
Soul fire wins, IIRC. Just have to realize that you're playing against 30 ice block and be more conservative.
***** ice block wins 8HP> 4 dmg no math necessary. also in the starting hand 1 or 2 soul fires would get discarded by the soul fires you play, so even less dmg.
EDIT: wow I'm stupid. soul fires win since ice blocks can't get triggered by creeps

No actually it turns out warlock wins because he can let mage keep drawing cards and discarding them due to 10 max and eventually the mage is at 1 health you activate iceblock and fatigue kills Jaina on her turn. Someone did the math and trump mentioned it on his murloc video.

He did that long time ago. Pre 12 wins patch, got to 3-3 due to getting 2 awesome legendaries and deathwing as a choice and the deathwing hard carried the deck through the 3 wins

I built a really crappy priest deck today in arena.Finished 2-3.Worth it got a Counterspell rare card as my 2nd reward and as always the card pack as the other one xD

I don't understand, whats so good about the commander? 4-2 doesn't seem very good to me.
it;s like having a spell with 4 damage because of the charge and you get 1 minion on board with 4-2 that has already killed a minion-so 2 cards for 1,that's why
it kills a minion & u retains a 4/2 on the board. comparing it to reckless rocketeer which is only 1 dmg higher it is so good.
Its the Shield and the charge which allows him to 100% 2 vs 1 trade
Another way of looking at it is that if the Commander's originally a 4-3 (simply adding 1 health to it), it's easily going to be the best card in the game in terms of value/cost since it'll be outside of most low mana AoE removals ingame.
Because it is nearly guaranteed to take 2 cards out. The metagame is focused around mid cost creatures, especially in arena. 4 cost creatures being the guys who do the heavy lifting. The argent commander kills nearly every 4 cost, some 5 drops and is left a 4-2 that will probably die to a 2 cost minion.
So, it is so good because usually he kills 2 cards. Blizzard even nerfed him at one point, he used to be a 4-3 and as such seeing him in your draft was better than even seeing a chillwind yeti.
"Better Yeti" is +1/+1 but deals 5 damage to your hero. I don't find that the greatest trade.
Flame Imp is the same except Pit Lord is 2 damage more
The problem with pit lord i see is that a lot of classes have decent removal at 4 or 5 mana. In arena they are less likely too, but still leaves him open to get spanked by a mage, priest, shaman, rogue, if lucky hunter and to some degree paladin(rogue can even sap then assassinate him for a total of 10 damage and 2 wasted warlock turns)

i did go 12-0 with paladin with crazy draft, 3 azure drake, 4 yeti, paladin legendary,
2 truesilvers, and alot of good minios like the 5 mana dwarf :D i was always 20 hp+

I just drafted a mage with FIVE fireballs, three frostbolt, three wwater elemental and a pyroblast. 12-1 but i felt like shit.
Hey man that's weird, I faced 3 mages with similar quantity and 'quality' cards. I ended up 5-3. It's okay though, I felt like shit as well.

If you do alright in arena, you can refund your gold. If you do really well, you can profit. Sometimes you do poorly and get a discounted pack, but it's all good because you got to play games and get something out of it.

7 Wins is around 150g, your refund and free pack. 5 is around 100g which is the best 'poor' you can do with a decent discount on the pack. If you're having trouble learning the play style of arena, simply continue watching Trump.

There are also other articles where he explains why each is where it is. So for example some 4 drops that are decent he placed low on his ranking because there is too many good 4 drops(chillwind yeti, spellbreaker, dark iron dwarf, defender of argus, taz'dingo(shieldmasta)) not to mention class cards, especially for classes like paladin(paladin lives off of 4 drops, truesilver, consecrate, blessing of kings hammer of wrath)

Doesn't really matter, Trump also drafted a mage deck with barely any mage cards and went 9-3 purely on solid minions.
Thank you for comparing my HS skill level with that of Trump, I appreciate that. Seeing that I lost 2 games to mages with pyroblast, it seems that it does matter a litle bit.

I disagree so much with you thinking void walker is bad I mean stats for mana taunt is -1 or 2 stat points depending like senjin compared to yeti. An average card has 1 stat above it's mana cost by 1 and 1 below such as boulder fist ogre 6 mana 6 attack 7 health so basically to test if a card is generally okay or not you can do mana cost + mana cost if it equals 1 below it's total stats it's good so average 1 mana card 1/2 average card with taunt 1/1 now the void walker is a 1/3 check those stats I play with it a lot it's one of my top tear warlock cards also I'm a rank 2 player trump could be and I might be able to get higher when I have the cards but as is I only have 4 legendaries and am missing 3 different epics not including class ones so yeah anyway void walker is good on paper at the end of the day 90% of the time when I play it it ends up being good
First of all, punctuation. It makes the wall of text bearable. Second of all, the problem with Void Walker is that it trades terribly. A 3/2 will kill and still live to kill something else. It's alright in aggro warlock as a meatshield, but in Arena where you are most likely going to be mid-range, it's mediocre. It will usually trade 2 for 1, putting you behind in cards. It's stats efficiency is irrelevant if they're distributed poorly.

TheElectriczil Void walker is better than some cards, like the Goldshire Footman and... uh... the Goldshire Footman. As ***** said, it dies too easily and it doesn't trade well. Just comparing its stats with other similar creatures doesn't necessarily tell you anything about the value of a minion.
Also, you being ranked 2 or the cards you have has nothing to do with making your opinion valid. (Because you do look like you're bragging just to make people think you know what you're talking about)

Колода агрессивная с хорошим ранним и мид геймом. Подразумевает что оппонент сам будет трейдиться, так что не нагоняй туч в плане арены эта колода очень даже ничего.
да у трампа всегда такие " хорошие колоды" без какого либо аое, хрен что сделаеш против паков мелкого треша, и приходится меняться 3 к3 или 3к1

well here we see what allways happens to me, thats why i actually hate to go on playing arena, or tbh, any hearthstone. since arena is actually the only point without wasteing money on the game

well the highest i had was 9 wins. and actually im only haveing bad feelings playing that game. i burn all the gold i earn with quests in like 2-3 or 5-3 or smth like that. even with decks that are great. i so often have just enemies with absolutely perfect decks, i almost feel like playing vs constructed with my arena decks

So, you are complaining about 5-3s? You do realize the average is a 3-3, and that a 5-3 is like a 62.5% win rate, and a 5-3 will give you more than 150 gold worth of items any time.

Yeah, watch the streams, he edits down the videos to be shorter, otherwise each video would be 2 and a half hours long. Trump probably has a solid reasoning for each decision, either because he suspects the opponent has a certain card in hand or similar.
