Great video, I have a 2023 Badlands with the 2.7 V6 and hardtop and no problems at all. The first 9 months I have had it I have put 20k miles and lots of long distance drives and not a problem. I came from a Jeep and it was exhausting to drive over distances and when I first sat in the Bronco I noticed a positive difference immediately before even driving it.
This is what a Bronco owner should be. Someone who is enthusiastic and invested in utilizing the vehicle and experiencing the whole car. And actually using it for what it's for!
I couldn't afford a Bronco. But I made a great deal on a 2025 Explorer 4x4 Active. Stickered for $43899 and I paid $39k. That was out the door. I was very impressed by the 2.3 eco motor and ten speed! That really sold me on the car. Coming up on 1000 break in miles now. It has limbered up and runs even better. I'll do an early full service on it soon and call it good.
Manual haters often tell manual enthusiasts, "If more people bought them they wouldn't be disappearing. It's YOUR fault they are becoming extinct because you guys didn't buy enough of them." Sales #'s(demand) have and do determine quite a bit in diminishing manual offerings for sure. But, manufacturers regularly, for years, paired manuals only with their weakest 'meh' engine offerings and almost never offered a manual with AWD. This also played a part in less buyer interest and lower sales #'s for manuals. And I'm "not" referring to exotic manual sports cars. They are a whole different market.
Limiting the options has definitely reduced appeal, though I’d say Ford did a pretty good job of at least offering most of the packages with the 7 speed, even adding the Sasquatch after customers asked for it! Maybe it would be cool to see it with the 2.7l but the 2.3 is good too.
Manuals used to have a performance and fuel efficiency advantage over automatics but that’s not true anymore. A modern automatic is faster and more fuel efficient than a manual. Folks aren’t buying them because they don’t see value in them.
And manual owners love to find any opportunity to let everyone in the room know they own/drive a manual. The conversation could be about picking up a pizza order and they’ll tell you they’re going to go get pizza in their manual transmission car. The sheer amount of time they try to wrangle into the conversation would be funny if it weren’t so sad and desperate. Whatever they’re trying to overcompensate for, it ain’t working.

I bought a 23 Big Bend about 8 months ago. Getting ready to cross the 10k mark. I have addressed the few complaints I had. Replaced all the factory speakers/ rear pods with Kicker CS series and SSV 6.5" pods in the rear. Also added a JL sub to replace the anemic factory junk. Replaced the 255 not all terrains for 285 Territory MT. Added a set of rock sliders/steps, and also bought the Ford Performance Procal4 tuner to give the 2.3 just a little more pep in its step. Overall, it's been a fantastic vehicle to own/drive. Many more mods are planned, so it will be constantly evolving into my own personal Bronco.
For the wiper issue - Ford has a TSB for that where they have to do a firmware flash to resolve that issue. I had it done to my 22 Badlands at last service. Your dad’s spot on when he said the Bronco is something someone looks for when they want a Jeep, but don’t want to buy a Jeep.

Base 2 dr, manual w/factory tires 24.5 mpg city/hwy mix if I keep it under 75 mph w/regular octane. 38,000 miles 80 mile commute to work. Only issue was the wiper glitch that was fixed. Works great as an RV toad just light scout camp trails so far. W/hard top it's quiet enough. No leaks. For the base price $32k couldn't be happier for the trim feel, fit and finish. No complaints here.
Loved your video and your view points! I'm keeping my bronco because like you said, it's an experience and a slightly better option for me than a jeep! And it's different!

Washer fluid stops working because the fluid line gets crimped when you close the hood. That will cause the washer fluid pump to draw to many amps and the fuse to blow. Either way, crimped washer fluid line likely the cause of all the problems
I have a 2 Door 22 Badlands 2 door Sasquatch (ahh Bronco never made a 4 door back in the day) and I absolutely love it. 15k miles in the last 2 years and my only complaint is the wind noise from the hard top… The off road capabilities are incredible… If you don’t own one and want to experience one, go to the Bronco Off Rodeo Program for a day… It is not a daily driver or road-trip truck for me but as fun and capable as you will find in a off road truck

I have had the windshield wiper fluid issue occasionally. I found that if I just hold the button down for a few seconds then it will start. Strang how it’s occasional. My biggest issue the CarPlay not connecting or disconnecting.
This was a pretty good review and I like that you got to do it with your Dad. I am just not sure how much I should believe a car review from a guy that crosses his arms when he turns the wheel like. 🙂 Overall though a well thought out review of what I consider a cool vehicle.
The design is awesome but I would not pay more than $50k fully loaded. It's a very unique car for a small market. BTW, you cannot compare it to a Toyota.
I’ve had my windshield fluid not come out on a vehicle before and it was due to contaminates in the fluid spray nozzles and had to blow them out or clean them.
I'm curious about the shift extension that you mentioned and the really cool retro shift ball. I don't see a link for it down in the description maybe you could share that? Otherwise I really love my 2024 Heritage and the 4-cylinder engine with the manual transmission drives very sporty I have no regrets either. Thanks for sharing 🤙🏼
I believe he said he got it from Twisted ShifterZ. I’m more of a short throw shifter type so it’s not my cup of tea but he really likes it, worth trying for sure! Thank you for watching👍
I do wish they came with a hard top with large moon roof option and the loss of the base model is a big blow. I went from a jeep gladiator ( which was a reliability disaster) to a better 4runner. I did like the base squatch with the area 51 color but it seems that is gone now. I like the way the bronco looks I am just wary with all the issues the ford transit vans at work have...not great quality.
This vehicle looks better on video than in real life where the lack of quality is so apparent also ridiculously narrow inside compared to exterior width
He says he finds them to be on par with the 4runner, maybe a little more comfortable on long journeys. I made a back-to-back comparison with them last year too if you’re contemplating a Bronco and want more details🥸
@@Realistick A little more comfortable on long journeys is a good thing for me. Thank you and your dad for the feedback. I watched the other video, too. Cool video!
Man I love my 4 runner seats I hear many complaints about them but for me I have even slept on them 😅. I’m on the shorter side 5’7” so maybe that’s why I like em, I always ask for height when I see those comments and most of the time it’s 5’10”+ where I’ve noticed people not liking them
Vehicle to grid is taking the off road world by storm now and...does this even need to be explained as to why this is so? I mean seriously why has this taken so long? Ford clearly is dragging its feet for this offering why I have no clue still but Jeep most definitely will not be. Don't even get me started on UTVs and Polaris which actually *ARE* what off road vehicles are *SUPPOSED* to be. Just a matter of time now when farm tractors will start offering vehicle to grid for diesel power as well and again...why hasn't this even been done yet again? How about for fishing boats that cost well into the six figures now that just sit in the driveway 55 weeks out of the year if not more? Why would anyone by a boat that does not have vehicle to grid power as standard now? Even GM is going to offer whole home energy solutions *IMMINENTLY* now. Tesla Cybertruck sells as fast as can be made as does the Ford F150 hybrid the latter in production for *YEARS* now.
There's something out there for everyone I think I'll pass on this add enough parts and you've changed the entire vehicle. Wait till you trade it in a tinker toy
The 4Runner is BORING but reliable, and underpowered, and has a reliable but crappy transmission, and uncomfortable, and an old Atari like infotainment screen and controls. I've had both. Traded the 4Runner in on the Bronco and don't regret it for one second. Simply put mine has been flawless through 40K. It is fun first and foremost. Drives and handles better on the highway, even with 35" tires. It is a bit louder but the top comes off for more fun. Puts a smile on my face every time I get in it.
The Ford Bronco should come to South Africa & Australia converted from left hand drive to right hand drive Australia than from there exported to South Africa .
Elaborate? Outside of live front axle durability, a little more aftermarket flexibility and cheaper base models, the Jeep doesn't have any advantages that I can think of!
@@Realistick Literally everything about the Jeep is stronger. Not only the drive train, but the Jeep body itself. doors tailgate hardtop. it’s just hard to be a jeep because it was originally designed as an off-road vehicle. Thanks for the indepth review
That bronce looks good
I have had the windshield wiper fluid issue occasionally. I found that if I just hold the button down for a few seconds then it will start. Strang how it’s occasional. My biggest issue the CarPlay not connecting or disconnecting.
And I’m at 55k miles now
This was a pretty good review and I like that you got to do it with your Dad. I am just not sure how much I should believe a car review from a guy that crosses his arms when he turns the wheel like. 🙂 Overall though a well thought out review of what I consider a cool vehicle.
My guy listening to Noname. Wasn't expecting that.
That stabilizer disconnect is only available on the badlands model.
Just got the 2.7 v6 no other way to go
Very cool video. On more than on level.
This vehicle looks better on video than in real life where the lack of quality is so apparent also ridiculously narrow inside compared to exterior width
Waiting for my manual transmission 4 door Big Bend to come in.
Dude his dad is awesome
Bring back the 289 V8 hi performance engine and then you got something that sounds awesome instead of the chintzy sound it produces now .
My washer fluid didnt work for some reason. I found that spiders had webbed up the washer hole, was weird.
These cars are such a great vibe but with those prices and that horrendous MPG 🤮
Needs a 5.0 then it would be worth buying
The fact you can put 37s on it without mods is awesome bug selling point for me
Indeed, though he misspoke, the tires shown are 35s!
Here's one for your dad. How are the seats vs. the 4Runner's seats? I've got a 4Runner, and the seats are making me want to get rid of it.
I’m on the shorter side 5’7” so maybe that’s why I like em, I always ask for height when I see those comments and most of the time it’s 5’10”+ where I’ve noticed people not liking them
@@rspecmtb1908 I guess I'm too tall. I'm 5'9". I must be right at the cutoff.
I love my black diamond.
Never use the RainX orange windshield washer fluid.
as he is driving there is a shimmy going on when it gets bad they cut away!
what are the wheel/tire specs?
Huh?
IDK The new Toyota TJ are coming out HEHE!
And all those people out there complaing that Lexus GX 550 is too expansive!!!!
All broncos in this area have been automatic. no manual options
There's something out there for everyone I think I'll pass on this add enough parts and you've changed the entire vehicle. Wait till you trade it in a tinker toy
@JeffBaker-ph6yj to each their own but one mans tinker toy could well be another mans Lamborghini
How accessible is the trailer hitch with the spare tire mounted on the back?
Hasn’t been an issue when we’ve hooked up trailers for mulch!
definitely something you need to be mindful of. especially if you go to a 37" tire. i pull the spare off while towing.
You need to buy an extension
Yooooo and here I thought Tyler was a snakk
The 4Runner is BORING but reliable, and underpowered, and has a reliable but crappy transmission, and uncomfortable, and an old Atari like infotainment screen and controls. I've had both. Traded the 4Runner in on the Bronco and don't regret it for one second. Simply put mine has been flawless through 40K. It is fun first and foremost. Drives and handles better on the highway, even with 35" tires. It is a bit louder but the top comes off for more fun. Puts a smile on my face every time I get in it.
On the highest, the car should not be cost over 80K. Its a FORD.
He says he does his own oil changes but there is a sticker on the windshield from like a Jiffy Lube.
He definitely does them himself, a lot, he might have gotten one on the road once when he took it on a long trip.
Your dad looks 10 years older than you.
What the brand of the shifter ?
My dad says Twisted Shifterz
I put the B&M sport shifter on my Bronco. 100% recommend it!
Can pls review the jeep 4xe grand cherokee 4xe trailhawk
The Ford Bronco should come to South Africa & Australia converted from left hand drive to right hand drive Australia than from there exported to South Africa .
WHY DAD NO SMILE
Dads don’t do that
truth
Tooo expensive to beat up and lose value along with electronics that don’t do well with harsh jarring. Drop your computer at home and find out.
WOW you look 👀 just like your Dad !
your dad looks way more comfortable driving it than you do.
I’m a Ford guy but…Jeep Wrangler just does it better in every way and the Jeep is much more durable off road.
Elaborate? Outside of live front axle durability, a little more aftermarket flexibility and cheaper base models, the Jeep doesn't have any advantages that I can think of!
Jeep will be in the shop regularly.
@@Realistick Literally everything about the Jeep is stronger. Not only the drive train, but the Jeep body itself. doors tailgate hardtop. it’s just hard to be a jeep because it was originally designed as an off-road vehicle. Some of the advantages you won’t know about unless you buy one and experience it yourself. There is a reason why when you go to places like Moab Utah. It’s literally 90% Jeep.
Interesting
Rnu wearing a girl's hair band???😅😅
No, I only buy Torque MAX Men’s (no girls allowed) Mane Taming hairbands!
18 from a four cylinder….
