    Overall I'm just glad Ford is giving Jeep some competition in this segment. This only means Jeep finally has to go back to the drawing board with their next Wrangler and step things up significantly to try and overrule Ford, then Ford will do the same in return and so on and so forth, constantly giving us better and better off-road king choices.

    Have some significant seat time in a Rubicon and owning a 4 door badlands sasquatch I love how quiet the low speed wheeling experience is and the 10 speed trans is magical. The Bronco moves out quick on 35's and DOES allow you to lock the rear locker even when the speeds are in the triple digits! The one pedal driving is the opposite of what you thought - you accelerate and then the brakes automatically come on, true one pedal driving.

      Having both, how do the interiors compare? I'm 5'10", 350 lbs. Sidestepping the fact that I really need to lose weight, the Wranglers just aren't that comfortable to me. My head almost touches the hardtop roof, even when the seat is at its lowest setting. I'm sitting very upright and feel like a proper Jane Austin woman. And my knees practically scrape the steering wheel and dashboard whenever I get in and out. And my butt and shoulders (which are rather large even when I was at 180 lbs in the marine corps) feel squished. Plus, the dashboard cuts off part of my view of the gauges.
      I feel like the wrangler's seats need to be 1.5-3" lower, that they need to recline slightly instead of maintain that horrible military posture feel, that the interior needs to be 6-9" wider, and some things like that hard plastic holding the seat belt latches needs to be molded outward instead of straight up against the seat to keep it from digging in. Does the bronco fix any of these issues and just feel... more comfortable for bigger guys? As expected, they are fairly rare in my area still and I haven't test driven one yet.

      Coming from the auto industry frameless door went away for a couple of reasons. One they are notorious for wind noise (yes I know that in a Jeep or Bronco many are not worried about wind noise). They tend to leak as seals relax over time. Last but not least there were issues when the window was left in the half down position the window is unsupported and could be broken easily.

    The button in the middle of the GOAT modes is for off road cruise control. It can be set for .5 to 20 MPH in .5 MPT increments. It handles gas and break and works great. If you ever feel sketchy just apply the brake until you are comfortable and then let off the brake to start going again. I went down a 95% grade (43 degree) uneven slope using nothing but that. It was amazing. PS it only activates when the engine is started.

    A very hard to discover feature. If you are offroad in manual mode, you can panic slam the shifter and it will go right past drive and in to neutral (useful if a hill climb is not going your way). If you shift more slowly it will lock at drive instead of traveling to neutral.

    When it comes to the drive control, the lever is still beneficial even if it's all electronic since you can easily tell where it is simply by feel while with the wheel you have to look at what setting it's in since all positions feel the same. To be able to quickly change to Reverse or Drive without needing to look at anything to confirm where it is better in my opinion. Same thing with having knobs and buttons for things like a/c controls and the radio.

      @@aaronuuu I'm sure you do, but still quicker in my opinion to do things like moving the lever from reverse to drive since it doesn't require that the release button be depressed and it hard stops at drive so just quickly nudging the shift lever moves it to the correct place almost instantly without needing to count clicks or anything like that.

    Couple things you get wrong is that the trail control is like cruise control that can be set in 1/2 mph increments; the one pedal drive mode is different in that you drive using only the gas pedal; hit the gas and it goes, let off the gas and it breaks. It's two features using the same button.

    Thank you for another great video. I have the same Bronco, Badlands, Sasquatch, Lux package, and it's nice to see an honest review by Jeep owners. You guys don't bash any other Brands, there is way too much of that going on. When looking for a winch for your Badlands Bronco there are two things to consider; that is the grill camera and the Adaptive Cruise Control Radar. Most of the bumpers out there will require you to re-position the grill camera and some even require the Radar to be re-positioned because they cover up the open area in the middle of your bumper you have now. Rough Country doesn't make the behind skid plate winch for the Badlands Bronco at this time due to the radiator louvers on the Badlands, they may in the future. I purchased the 4WP Bumper and Winch Mount and only had to re-position the front view Camera to under the top of the bull bar. It works fine.

    Is the middle button on your goat mode 4 wheel drive system is cruise control is pro that also works in reverse as long as you don't go over 4 miles an hour

  • @zaphods2ndhead193

    The Rough Country winch mount is only officially for the 2.3L, not the 2.7L. Also you have to be careful in regards to the radar cruise control. I am still waiting for the right bumper that works for the 2.7L, lower winch and relocates the radar, parking sensors and the camera (if it is blocked). Haven't found the right one, yet.

    My biggest concern with these would be the fail 4wd vacuum system ford uses. I’ve gone through 3 IWE’s that all broke without even using 4wd. Apparent the hoses get junk in them and it causes the IWE’s to engage/disengage and break. The metal on metal grinding is horrific and Ford hasn’t done anything about it other than to replace to part that gets broken, not fix what’s causing it. And that’s only if you’re under warranty. I’ll never buy another ford with that system again

    • @kaijorgensen6940
      @kaijorgensen6940 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That issue generally begins with a bad check valve. Which frustratingly is a replace when broken fix. There is also the, forgive me I forget it’s actual name, the vacuum “control” box thingy, that in many iterations was lacking a rain cover and allowed even a little water into the system causing vacuum engagement. They have changed that part to have a rain hood. But I completely agree, I prefer either a mechanical engagement or electrical, far less failure rate

    Ford does offer a winch set up for the modular bumper. It's a Warn system. The issue will be with the adaptive cruise radar located in the bumper. That will need to be relocated otherwise you'll get many a warning messages with a winch in front of it.

    I Took a badlands on a long road trip there second week I owned it, it was pretty comfy and the thing basically drives itself on the highway, gas milage is not bad, but if you hit bad crosswinds you’ll see the gas mileage go down and you’ll definitely hear it in a soft top lol. That sound system helps though. Shits cash money.

    Fairly dissapointing that Ford didn't design the middle roof panels as two separates as well. Allowing you to store them in the trunk too. I know that there might be a spacing issue, but it would be great to have all the doors and roof panels off and secured for a road trip with your entire family, but with the option of tossing them all back on should it start to rain or other bad weather.

    I'm with you guys on the gear selector, the reason they have it instead of an electronic one is because they offer a manual transmission (so they have a hole in the transmission tunnel there anyway). At least that is my understanding of why they didn't go with the dial they put everywhere else (see Bronco Sport for example).

    • @Poindogindustries
      @Poindogindustries 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It also has the feature where if you’re in manual mode you can smack the shifter into neutral. (Great if you start tipping backwards on a climb)

  • @greenhawk3796
    @greenhawk3796 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    when you're in drive, the shifter doesn't get in the way at all. I disagree with dial shifter, but i do wish it had a column shifter instead. i came from a column shifter in my excop taurus and I miss it lol.
    Zone lighting is only available in park unfortunately.
    The tire camera view is only available in specific GOAT modes.
    The thing to keep in mind with the whole winch aspect is to remember the jeep has been around for a while, Bronco is new again and it's gonna take a bit for manufacturers to get parts made.
    I'm in Ontario. I asked that my front plate not be installed lol. I'm driving a Black 2 door Badlands non-sasquatch.
