      Casey 250 we at Ford do have a winch option for the 2022.5 model year on certain Broncos from the factory that is a fact not an opinion but straight fact because I work at the factory that builds the Bronco.

    Overall I'm just glad Ford is giving Jeep some competition in this segment. This only means Jeep finally has to go back to the drawing board with their next Wrangler and step things up significantly to try and overrule Ford, then Ford will do the same in return and so on and so forth, constantly giving us better and better off-road king choices.

    The button in the middle of the GOAT modes is for off road cruise control. It can be set for .5 to 20 MPH in .5 MPT increments. It handles gas and break and works great. If you ever feel sketchy just apply the brake until you are comfortable and then let off the brake to start going again. I went down a 95% grade (43 degree) uneven slope using nothing but that. It was amazing. PS it only activates when the engine is started.

    If I recall, the 1-pedal drive is a mode to use the gas pedal on throttle and it will brake on release, to recreate a two-foot driving skill on both pedals us Jeepers have to do.

    The frameless doors are what used to be pretty much standard equipment on cars back in the 70’s and for years afterwards, known as “hard tops”. Personally I love it and was sad to see them go away in favor of frames around windows. I am glad to see Ford bringing them back.

      Coming from the auto industry frameless door went away for a couple of reasons. One they are notorious for wind noise (yes I know that in a Jeep or Bronco many are not worried about wind noise). They tend to leak as seals relax over time. Last but not least there were issues when the window was left in the half down position the window is unsupported and could be broken easily.

    Have some significant seat time in a Rubicon and owning a 4 door badlands sasquatch I love how quiet the low speed wheeling experience is and the 10 speed trans is magical. The Bronco moves out quick on 35's and DOES allow you to lock the rear locker even when the speeds are in the triple digits! The one pedal driving is the opposite of what you thought - you accelerate and then the brakes automatically come on, true one pedal driving.

    • @rabidhellhound9714
      @rabidhellhound9714 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Having both, how do the interiors compare? I'm 5'10", 350 lbs. Sidestepping the fact that I really need to lose weight, the Wranglers just aren't that comfortable to me. My head almost touches the hardtop roof, even when the seat is at its lowest setting. I'm sitting very upright and feel like a proper Jane Austin woman. And my knees practically scrape the steering wheel and dashboard whenever I get in and out. And my butt and shoulders (which are rather large even when I was at 180 lbs in the marine corps) feel squished. Plus, the dashboard cuts off part of my view of the gauges.
      I feel like the wrangler's seats need to be 1.5-3" lower, that they need to recline slightly instead of maintain that horrible military posture feel, that the interior needs to be 6-9" wider, and some things like that hard plastic holding the seat belt latches needs to be molded outward instead of straight up against the seat to keep it from digging in. Does the bronco fix any of these issues and just feel... more comfortable for bigger guys? As expected, they are fairly rare in my area still and I haven't test driven one yet.

    A very hard to discover feature. If you are offroad in manual mode, you can panic slam the shifter and it will go right past drive and in to neutral (useful if a hill climb is not going your way). If you shift more slowly it will lock at drive instead of traveling to neutral.

    Thank you for another great video. I have the same Bronco, Badlands, Sasquatch, Lux package, and it's nice to see an honest review by Jeep owners. You guys don't bash any other Brands, there is way too much of that going on. When looking for a winch for your Badlands Bronco there are two things to consider; that is the grill camera and the Adaptive Cruise Control Radar. Most of the bumpers out there will require you to re-position the grill camera and some even require the Radar to be re-positioned because they cover up the open area in the middle of your bumper you have now. Rough Country doesn't make the behind skid plate winch for the Badlands Bronco at this time due to the radiator louvers on the Badlands, they may in the future. I purchased the 4WP Bumper and Winch Mount and only had to re-position the front view Camera to under the top of the bull bar. It works fine.

    When it comes to the drive control, the lever is still beneficial even if it's all electronic since you can easily tell where it is simply by feel while with the wheel you have to look at what setting it's in since all positions feel the same. To be able to quickly change to Reverse or Drive without needing to look at anything to confirm where it is better in my opinion. Same thing with having knobs and buttons for things like a/c controls and the radio.

      @@hagestad I have a Jeep Wrangler and do heavy off-roading/rock crawling and I have had too switch too reverse 3 times over the years too prevent me from flipping over and I do it by feel without looking. If it would have been a knob I would have flipped while I was looking down too see what gear I’m switching too.

    There are strap handles that mount on top of the roll cage and hang down. You have to take the front panels off to mount them.

    The Rough Country winch mount is only officially for the 2.3L, not the 2.7L. Also you have to be careful in regards to the radar cruise control. I am still waiting for the right bumper that works for the 2.7L, lower winch and relocates the radar, parking sensors and the camera (if it is blocked). Haven't found the right one, yet.

    Ford does offer a winch set up for the modular bumper. It's a Warn system. The issue will be with the adaptive cruise radar located in the bumper. That will need to be relocated otherwise you'll get many a warning messages with a winch in front of it.

    To be fair to both bronco and the JL transmission selector. Packaging engineers needed to put it there to package protect for multiple transmissions via manual and auto. Additionally cost as well between a manual center console vs a column shifter, etc.

    The new Bronco seems nice, especially the Badlands version. I was a bit apprehensive of Ford re-using the Bronco nameplate as I used to have a 1979 Ford Bronco with a 351 V8 that got 10 mpg on a good day. It was a beast. But I am tempering my apprehension having watched this review.

    In LiteBrite’s defense, the soft top was flapping around in nearly 100mph winds while driving 60-70+. I think the any soft top would flap in that situation😂

    The middle button is called one pedal drive. Its offroad cruise control. you can set it to as little as 1 mph. also, anytime you are not pressing the gas, the vehicle will apply brake so newer drivers dont have to be as proficient performing 2 pedal maneuvers .
    Hill start assist is automatic and there is no button you need to press to enable like the Jeeps.

  • @Schlierfy1
    @Schlierfy1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fair comment on the gear selector. The center layout is a bit better on the manual. there is no reason why the automatic is so different. Thank you for being honest about your opinions from a jeep guy. Most reviews are bias to one side or another.

    Couple things you get wrong is that the trail control is like cruise control that can be set in 1/2 mph increments; the one pedal drive mode is different in that you drive using only the gas pedal; hit the gas and it goes, let off the gas and it breaks. It's two features using the same button.

    FYI the handles are not for getting in. They’re for holding on and not getting jarred around when off-roading. Also you CAN add aftermarket handles to the roll-bar.

    After originally wanting a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with the turbodiesel, it priced itself out of my consideration, plus there's that solid axle "Death Wobble" thing. So, I'm going to be ordering a 2dr V6 Badlands Sasquatch. HOWEVER, I can't see me ever taking the doors off, and I MIGHT only occasionally take off the front (only) roof panels. Also, I live where the windows freezing and NOT being able to roll down when you try and open or shut the doors may be a SERIOUS issue. SO, if GM/Chevy and/or Toyota come out with something comparable (F/R lockers, IRS, etc.) with a fixed hardtop and electric moonroof, especially if it can be had with a reasonably powerful turbodiesel (who knows how much more "Brandon" will raise gas prices...), then they might get my money. Keep up the good work guys, and while I've watched Shawn's channel for years now, I'm going to be watching it a lot more now that he has a Bronco. #FJB

    Sweet video! Tje drain plugs oddly enough has never been shown but that is one thing that is very sweet! Those mirrors cameras scare me on a tight trail. Looks expensive to fix after already smashing my jeep mirrors. The winch issue and the approach angle issue with a bumper you can mount is a serious issue.

    Very nice objective review. The one thing I didn't like when I sat in a Bronco was the horizontal roof rail was right next to my head. (I'm 6'1"). It looked like it was right next to yours when you were sitting in the driver's seat also.
