Which Of The 6 Is Your Favorite And Would You Buy One?👇
Mazda
If any of these truck end up being 8k$, the entire landscape of dealerships is over. As we all know, a dealership marks up any vehicle that they come across. For example, MSRP on a Ram 2500 TRX is 70k$ while you wouldn't ever see one at a dealership for less than 95k$.
And in the end if the Nissan Frontier is to be 8k$, it makes all other options, invalid as it is the only REAL truck available.
Absolutely. I would.
IMV
Wake me up when they reach our shores.
Yeah...$8,000 ....with a $30,000 dealer "markup" ! I'll believe it when I see one at a dealership ....for even under $10,000 !
Here in Canada we add the 30% difference in the dollar, and then delivery fee
Car manufacturers couldn't take a dump and sell for $8000.00
You really don't need electric windows and a entertainment system in the middle of the dash the simpler the better
I'm with you. No power anything and skip the digital screens. Those electronic screens are thousands of dollars when they crap out. Keep it analog. That shit almost never breaks.
Keep it simple stupid!
Amen!!!
Look, I don’t know about you, but I like power steering and brakes as well as windows and locks. Here’s the thing: Honda learned long ago that they could include these things as standard equipment with almost no price increase over the manual items. How can they do it? The cost savings of not spending money to design, test and stock the manual parts, the savings on the lines and having a bunch less parts to stock, offset the cost difference and sold better as well
@@markvincent5992 I like power steering and brakes. The same goes for windows and locks. Those are pretty dependable. It's the electronic things I can do without. I'd rather go analog with the rest.
By the time you add the dealer, Mark up on it it’ll be about $20,000. That’s how the dealer here in the United States have a great day.
$8000 ? Yeah right
I won't believe these things are $8,000 until I bought one and traded it to my workers
I Like the brat.😮
I wish someone would bring back a Suzuki Samurai clone.
The recent Jimny would be bad ass.
I will keep my 1993 Samurai until I die and if this Toyota reaches the USA I will buy one.
The Brat and the Ranchero ugly as sin. Why can't someone make an old fashioned truck? Lose the electronics and the cameras, lose the extra doors and give us a small v8 and an 8 foot bed and basic manual lock 4x4? The only power most of us who really "need" a truck want is wheel base and hauling/towing capacity without paying $100k plus for it. The only truck shown here worth a shit is the one you can't get in the states.
I wish I could believe this. 8000 will never happen
Shame I can’t get that Toyota in the USA 😭
F that. You want a Hilux!
Government in the way again.
It's funny we had the ranger s10 Dakota etc. They go and either get rid of it or like the Tacoma make it more expensive to the point where they don't sell like they use to then turn around and make a new small size pickup. I got my 96 s10 step side for about 12k in 96
I'm just sure the U.A.W. is just absolutely thrilled about this !
If any of these trucks ever see the light oof the show rooms in the U.S.A. I'll be in shock ( I bet I'll be in good Company too ) !
I don't believe this. Show me where we can get this 25000+ trucks for 8000.00 no way.
Probably have a 30 day warranty.
The manufacturers can't sell for 8000. this would prove to the consumer that the the manufacturers and the dealers have been ripping the consumer off for decades and decades.
I don't believe 8000 dollar prices will happen, if it does, I'll own one.
How about a 4 cylinder Cummins?
With a manual transmission please,
I would buy one. But that price is just wishful thinking.
You’re 8000 trucks will become 45000 in Canada greedy Dealers
What we want. Think early 80's Ford Ranger S w/AC. 2 Litre normally aspirated engine. Crank windows, rubber floor, bench seat, STRIPPED!
The last Montana was a Pontiac and was a van not a pickup.
Give us the Hylux in the states.
That fold down bed side is perfect for many light duty application.
What makes more since a 450hp V8 5k lb truck to drive to work in every day burning 12mpg or a light duty truck that sips gas so big it don't fit into a 2 car garage.
In the USA compact trucks are not made anymore because mpg is set based on vehicle size, so if it's a small pickup the size of a sedan, it needs to get that mpg as well. The old compact Toyota trucks only got 20 city and 26 highway. EPA rated so 18 to 22 realistic.
People are Dreaming if the Car manufacturers are
Going to make any truck for around 8000 $ US
Extras/ Options would be the Money maker for the Car company
The only one that actually looks any good is the first one they aren't selling in the United States
My old 8' bed with a camper shell makes weekend camping with a cot and full-size mattress a breeze. Now I can't even buy an 8'. Need at least a 6.5' with a built in shell that doesn't leak and has side windows with screens. No need for crew cap just enough extended to fit my ice chest and stove. Nobody care about how easy the short tour camping guy with no dang travel trailer needed for deep woods 4x4. It would be the bomb for some of us. G friends always liked the roughing it with a bed just fine
They can not be sold in the US because they lack a lot of safety features that are required.
False as you can legally own a Willy's Jeep from 1940s with zero safety features, point blank period. It is all about controlling your thoughts and actions.
Yup brought in by same people that put huge tariffs on small trucks so gm et all can charge you 100 g for a work truck and insist on protecting you from yourself.
Sad but accurate!!
Don't delude yourself. Safety is not the reason we can't have small trucks in the states. It's an outdated law meant to protect US produce trade that some jerk in the government added small pickups to in the mid-seventies. We used to have small trucks and they were super popular.
@@DACCBeatbox In the 40s there were minimal if no safety regulations. Seatbelts and mirrors were optional. In fact, seatbelts were invented in the 40s, and seat belts weren't mandatory until 1986. Not a fair comparison with an over regulated safety conscience industry. Only takes 1 incident to ruin it and add more regulation.
Theses are all out of US trucks right hand drive , the US auto industry would be smart to start selling them in the US Cuz no ones buying 100K pickups anymore
$100K is a luxury sports car not a work truck!!
if they import these the dealers will jack up the price up over 20 thousand dollars
I had a recent experience and you are exactly right. The dealers are scammers jacking the prices, reniging on sale prices and sneaking extra costs into the sale. I thought I was being smart but they got me anyway.
The Toyota IMV 0 is a typical mini truck made for the Japanese market. NHK (Japan’s public TV station) has similar trucks in many of their TH-cam videos. Very common in Japan; seems to be popular in the agricultural, commercial fishing and service industries. By the way, it is nothing like the other trucks that appear in the very beginning of this video.
Bring us the hilux
Is it possible to personally import the cheap Toyota from Thailand and it still be worthwhile after paying all the fees and taxes?
Where in the US are these available
New Jersey
For years all a guy wanted is a "beer can special" ( Lee Iacoca description) with a decent radio and maybe air conditioning. Trucks are allowed to pollute more thanks to the EPA and that is what the car companies push because they are cheaper to make and more reliable. Give me a Ranchero any day because uni-body cars generally can't take it.
when they bring back reliable engins and transmissions then maby ill have to wait 5 years but what there building now is guarbage
Awesome!! Always wanted a truck but couldn’t afford it or not worth the current price.
I’d buy that Mazda pickup truck TODAY!
The Brat was a cool little truck i remember going into fields when i was in high-school back in the 70s
But they won't get away with the bed seats outside the cab back facing. They had some pep back then too.
It was a Ute not a truck, just like the Holden Ute, Ford Ranchero, Chevy El Camino and SSR, and a few others from Volvo, Lada, and Renault for example that are not available for purchase in the United States. In Australia, Ford and Chevy still sell their Utes, that are still to this day in production. The video shows Australian footage of the Ford Ranchero Ute driving outside of Perth for a Ford Advert made for Australians. A Truck is not on a Car chassis like a Ute is. The Mazda and Chevy in the video are just crossovers. The Toyota is the Kei truck scaled up slightly.
Cheap, no frills and reliable? I'll believe it when I see it. But this is exactly what the bloated, overly complex car market needs. Until and if this arrives, I'll keep my cheap, no frills, 18 year old Toyota running. Cuba in Canada!
when and where can you buy these in the U.S. ????
i would definitely get the nissan for sure
sadly, these trucks won't reach the American market. the way the laws are set up, its too big to be a compact but not big enough to call it a full sized car. that is why at some point, you couldn't buy a small truck in America, and you wont get these either
It has to do with the gas mileage regulations. The smaller the wheel base the higher our government requires the gas mileage to be. Compact trucks up to this point require an impossible to meet mileage requirement.
Yup, unless they rewrite the regulations there will be a many thousand dollar CAFE penalty on trucks this size.
I will take a Toyota today. I am still driving my 1994 base model.
They don't have much choice. China and India will be able to dump cheap sub $7k vehicles in the US. The Ranchero was recently available in Australia. I have NO idea why they didn't sell it in the US.
Wow, lots to choose from. 💙 the fresh 👀 ahhmmm 😊👌👍
was relieved to hear the new Ranchero will have RWD and the option of a 6 cylinder! it seems American car companys are starting to learn the proper way to build cars!
In this Small Truck location ne up I pick 1. Toyota Trout and 2. Mazda for their good looking and lower fuel consumption
Pity price reduction comes at an unspoken statement that some people’s lives are worth less than others. “New” vehicles which carry passengers come with only 2 airbags. Checkout. Toyota Rumion/Suzuki Ertiga, etc
I like the Chevy Montana.
Looks to good to be true, how long they gonna last?
listed 8k from manufacturer marked up 200% buy stealerships.
👍👍👍
Okay is the Nissan compact truck a rear wheel drive? Because anyone that would buy a FWD Nissan automatic pretty much just burned a pile of cash for nothing.
It said AWD..... it costs NOTHING to PAY ATTENTION!
But how to haul lumber, plywood sheets, two by fours?
get a trailer
Nice
There is no way these are 8 grand!
Maybe in Australia
we will buy the small pickup with the small price. we dont want mid sized nor humongous. we are tired of the over priced giants. we want to return to the 80s and early 90s.....before they made all the cool small pickups go HUGE
honestly i would love to have one of these, ship me one lol
You couldn't give me a GM anything 🎉🎉
Same. UAW built crap.
manual is a must
You’re right, I wouldn’t by the Nissan. I like their products, but a 9 speed auto tranny goes out it’s going to set you back more than half the price of another new truck.
realizability, I know they aren’t talking about GM
None of them mean anything until I see it on the dealers lot.
I’ll believe it, when I them on the road.
The Toyota IMV isn't available in the United States
When are they going to sell them?
I gotta have a STICK 🎉🎉
The Mazda is basically a Ford Maverick.
And it LOOKS GREAT!!
No offense, I like the Toyota Hilux Champ/Tamaraw/Rangga.
BTW, the Mazda BT-50 could be a rebadged Isuzu D-Max (2020 model). And, meanwhile, the Nissan Navara is a common pickup in the Philippines.
Think it is the mazda for me. I was really disappointed in Chevrolet in this one!
Why? Chevy SUX!
Turbo charged engines don’t hold up as long as non turbos do. Even at $8000 I wouldn’t buy a turbocharged engine.
I've had an '85 Dodge Daytona TURBO since '85, and NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT. You are DEBUNKED!
That Ranchero better have rear bags cause that does not look like it will haul any weight.
Right? They made it look like a riced out civic. Just missing a potato launcher exhaust that sounds like a big fart, and a huge wing off the back.😂🤣
This is beyond cruel for those of us that just want a cheap, plain, new, mundane and humble transport. These will never make the North American market. The sheeple that buy 100K trucks, and want to brag about the 900 horsepower they are told that the magical NASA complex thing under the hood that they never open, has, have encouraged the manufacturers for too long. All the younger generations have no idea what a manual transmission is, no woman would be caught dead having to roll a window, no Zombie gigantic computer screens, etc., etc. Even if a miracle occurred here, they would end up being obscenely inflated to $$$$$$$ numbers. My first and only car I ever bought, was my 1991 Suzuki Samurai. It was $7,995.00 Canadian.
To answer the question about the Nissan...Yes, automatic transmission only is a deal breaker,
what country ?
Turbocharged 4 cylinder= frequent expensive repairs, short engine life, expensive replacement. 9 gear cvt automatic? money pit
did he say optional airbags??!?
If they are 8-10k each, ill get 3!
ONLY if you're saving GOLD & SILVER... your paper money will be totally worthless soon.
Is this for real?
I say Mazda takes 1st. 2nd is the Ford although I think within a couple of years it'll be dropped or maybe an attempt to redesign. 3rd I give to Toyota. The rest of them forget about it
I'll consider buying the Mazda if it's as stated here in the video
It's about time. I was told to buy a car to improve my credit because I wasn't in enough debt. They had rules about what I could buy to qualify for the loan. The approved a loan for $26,000 but with the rules of the loan I couldn't buy anything I wanted and if it's that much money I'd better be in love with it. I ended up getting a used car for a lot less. I still drive my 81 toyota hilux because it's still a better vehicle. It's reliable, cheap on gas, it's a 3/4 ton, and I can work on it all by myself. I was convinced I'd never own a new car because even though they cost more...THEY SUCK. They're built for the landfill. The more crap they have the more goes wrong. Cars turned into a terrible investment. I might pick up one of these. It'd be nice to be able to drive my own car on a road trip again instead of using a rental...well done
Everyone is still just targeting the soccer mom crowd.all passenger space no cargo room. Except for Toyota, they are all just kid carriers
i want a real pickup 🛻 2 door just fine give a big cargo box
basic truck manual controls don't need computer everything
heater and ac radio 📻
Lol 180hp 200hp....4 cylinder ...
That's cute .
Any of these trucks 4x4?
How much can they really tow?
These are just glorified SUV's
They are just for people that don't need a f150 orother such price blown out of the world trucks. They are for the people that need a light AFFORDABLE TRUCK. How many big trucks do you see actually doing things that require that size in a day in the city or on a freeway? That is where most Big trucks really live.
@@ericjohnson3755 Yeah, as a homeowner I want something in the middle. I don't need a giant truck that can tow 10k but I do want 4k towing. I do enough runs a year to home depot and lowes where it really would be worth it to not need to get my trailer out every time like I do now. That said I also do want decent gas mileage. My ideal would actually be a hybrid. The maverick was pretty damn close but the hybrid isn't AWD.
low rider, doesnt belong outside LA
Not for the USA.
YEA ??????
Like the $60 K Vette !!!!!!!!!!(?)
🥵😡😔😔 Start at $8400.
Markup $13K- Delay charge $5500 !
Out the door ACTUAL COST !!
33K !!!!
BUT L👀K Silverado BASE Truck is $55k = See what a BARGAIN this one is !!
These trucks are throw a ways . Could imagine the cost of a major repair.
Happy to pay ten . But the USA will not see them
I’ll keep my f 250 power stroke at 21 mph highway
Back to the Basics?? Not in America. Too much Greed and Goverment.
For now....
As usual Chevy goes underpower loosing from the start
Be
Is the the same Mary Barra that has GM in serious trouble since she dumped millions and millions into EV’s that aren’t selling? I won’t be driving one of these trucks, she’s likely to turn it into the same mess she’s done to everything else.
Never put women in charge.
8K plus market adjustments = 30k
Not here in the US right? Figures.
Oooh, sweet! Yeah, what’s the engine torque specs & tow capacity? 4WD? That’s what I thought.
That little Toyota is a kei truck upsized. I’d love to have one, but it won’t be sold in the US just like its little kei cousins.
$8k ? Is that the price to make it then jack up the price to $25k and go from there. I'll believe it when I see it.
13:36 GMs version, mini Avalanche.
Looks like they are all sh-ite. Why cant they just make a nice simple plain ol pickup. Any MFG that does that will win.
This is not new. Austrailia has had the small trucks for decades. the US would not let them be imported so the car makers could over price the junk they sell here. Politicians not making law for safety, they make law to fill their pockets with our money
Manual windows are the best way to go but the US crooked manufacturers want to charge you for Electric windows that will fail and you have to pay a fortune to fix. another rip off.
Manual transmissions are fun but Automatic Trans are better for towing. I have had both so I can compare.
I can throw my own radio in thank you.
No thank you on the Turbo Charged engine. We want something that will run trouble free. Trouble follows the Turbo.
Problem is, the US manufactures will price this so high, you will never see 8000 buck pricing, and after the Stealers get ahold of it, it will be priced as high as the new junk they cant sell that sits on their lots now. Its a buyer revolution and its about time.
Right....
Looks like this is how they get all the new citizens vehicles.
