Victoria Westcott is a teacher turned entrepreneur turned movie producer. Victoria Westcott is co-owner of Elgin Road Productions Ltd. Victoria crowdfunded the money for her first feature film, Locked In a Garage Band, and has since gone on to hold crowdfunding workshops locally and in the USA.

Dude, you are speaking about most people, however most people are NOT the target of crowdfunding, crowd funding is for two very specific types of people: people with vision and people willing to support people with visionary.
That target group of people is very very small that's why the whole thing of it is awesome.
I liked the concise, informative presentation.

Have never understood crowd funding or been that interested in the past. I watched this and immediately want to crowdfund, it sounds 'awesome!', great tips Victoria
Big point, don't mislead people into thinking they are investors when they are not. So many people mistakenly believe they are investors but they are just donors or pre-order customers.

Here's some info you should consider:
1) show your face, there really should be a face to the project, people want to connect "person to person" in an 'e' kind of way before doing business
2) tell the whole story -- your video doesn't explain your process, if it's a secret that might be a problem
3) Know your CF site -- I believe for indiegogo, you must have $100 within the first 3 days and $500 in 2 wks, if not they will drop you from sight and search

dude, when you copy and paste comments youtube automatically labels it spam -- go to your history and view all of your comments in incognito window, you will see all are spam.
also, if you are pushing crowdfunding put your full message in your "about" page on your youtube channel
at this point you are using a lot of energy but moving very slowly
There must be a way to pool resources into a legal fund to provide support for individuals that come forward to legitimately accuse an abuser that has far more money to defend themselves or that would counter sue the plaintiff. I am thinking of Mr. Trump suing the women that came forward claiming he grabbed them. I am thinking of an employee that is threatened by their employer. The structure of such a not-for-profit foundation, and criteria for access/ limitations and governance would be a valuable debate.
She's forgetting something that's important, the fact that people who spend money on crowdfunding sites don't just want to buy a product. They want to help launch a product/service/idea that they think is awesome.
This means they have invested their enthusiasm in something, and enthusiasm is shared with friends and family. I know that I personally am far more likely to get people I know to spend money on something if I feel that I invested in it.

Reinis Grikis today is our very first day on youtube, and this is the very first video we have visited, if you look hard at our approach you will see we are serious about what we are doing. Those who get involved with us early get to benefit the most with the association. If you choose to wait for a crowd to gather around it might be too late to get all of the easy early attention.

Awesomeness is illusery and utterly valueless. It's what is tangible that matters. People don't buy awesome, they buy a product or service for the value of that product or service.
How is crowdfunding any different from any other donation/drive? It's just another form of ebegging.
