I have 6 of these batteries and originally purchased one to try it out. Then pulled the trigger and bought another 5. They have been dead ass reliable. They don't have all the wizzbang features of the EG4 or othrs but for the price I paid (around $970 then) was well worth it.
The problem with the name brand batteries you mentioned is the shipping price makes it over $400 difference, not just $100. Shipping in the US is around $300+ for the name brands alone where as I can pick this up on multiple sites with free shipping.
Bought one last month, no regrets a solid battery. Free shipping is one of the reasons I bought this battery, you really need to make that clear when you compare it to the EG4 cost, there is normally a $300-400 difference when you factor in shipping.
Including taxes and shipping at the pretty normal discounted price - this is well over a $400 savings per battery. Working great for me - I bought 5 and no issues.
I have 4 of these in my system 6 months so far zero issues! $1,023 shipped no tax etc is a great deal. Look little deeper into the cells, I can't build these myself for what they are charging
Just bought 2 for $889.00 each shipped $1778 total delivered. Have a 10 year warranty now if the company still exists. Checked eg4s as my first choice but at 1299.00 each plus $350 shipped and tax came to over $3k. Saved $1200 that paid for the 3k eg4 inverter, wiring , and accessories. Just for a test setup to play with and collect data. They do have wall mounts with communication ports for another $200. I'm guessing in about 3 years the technology will change and these batteries will go the way of lead acid.
I live in the EU and got one of these from Germany after seeing a few reviews. Spent several minutes chatting with support on the web site, mentioned various TH-camrs and built up a level of comfortability with their level of support, and also haggled a little successfully. It's currently in standby with a 3kW off-grid inverter waiting for a power cut so it'll the keep fridge and computers running, or be used for mobile applications in the field, such as rescuing EVs or camping, tools etc...
I bought one of these because Eg4 batteries were $300 to ship. after I made my purchase I found a company shipping Eg4s for free. When I went to upgrade to more batteries I went to order Eg4s but they were on pre-order. about 5 to 6 weeks before they would be shipped. So I ordered 2 more of these. Strangely enough, the new ones were a slightly different size. One batch was slightly taller and narrower width-wise than the other.
There are several good reviews on this battery in English which helped me feel ok about picking up a couple for about 930 each including shipping. Yea, no coms port, but still a step up from my simple 12v drop type without BT, temp protection, screen, breaker and so on at nearly the same price. At the time the eg4s where 1399+shipping so
In my case is not 100 saving it is in 960 in amazon , shipping included. In signature solar the is a promotion of shipping og flat 350 so its is about 400 or more on saving for me . Plus EG4 told me that i can use it as open comunication.
The only reason I would buy that would be for a cheap way to extend the run time of my Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra during and emergency or bad weather. I wouldn't hook it up to a All in one Inverter if it can't communicate with it properly.
Yep I use it to extend the Delta Pro, Delta Pro Ultra and also an external inverter 6000w to handle loads in case of emergency and if crap really hits the fan.
I'll stick to my cheap primitive cave manning. 4- 12v batteries in series. I don't care about monitoring them. I haven't looked at my system in months. Only thing I care about is if I generate and store enough power to run my house through the night.
Vatrer battery was a great deal at $1023 free shipping. Using it paralleled with Lifepower 4s. Seems to discharge and top end charge faster than the Lifepowers. Very happy with it.
I have three of them. I bought them brand new at $1023. They are excellent. They do not fit well and EG4 server rack though. I could only get three batteries in the six slot server rack. They are too tall and I had to use every other slot.
I have 4 of the older type 48 volt and 3 of the new 51.2 batteries for about a year have had no issues. Don't use the communication function on any of my batteries. I believe the bms is a jbd. And the overkill app will work with these batteries
They are all 48v units but they are now labelling 51.2v Until they change the name(voltage) on every 48v product, you are building a 48v system. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Make sure you include photos of Victron and other top brands advertising 51.2v inverters. Yes your battery even can charge higher than 51.2v and inverters have a wide range volt it works with but as of today we either call it 12v 24v 36v 48v
If you're going to go cheap, like I did, then just build your own battery from the raw cells. That way you can use the BMS and other components you want. I built my own 320ah 48v 16.4 kwh battery from the new EVE m31 cells including a smart 200a 48v BMS, flexible bus bars, etc. for around $1,800. Three EG-4 server rack batteries (still 20ah less than mine) would be $3,900 on sale. A $2,100 price savings is significant.
I am really not sure why more people don't build their own. I did the same, saved at least 50% as you said and I know I have good cells. No one ever talks about what kind of cells are in these rack mounted.
@@CorwinPatrick Or you can configure your battery to fit your available space. I configured my 16s 48v battery so all the cells are lined up in a row because the space where I needed to put it, under my bed, was only 12" wide, though the length of the bed. On the other hand, I was able to configure my 12v 560ah 2p4s battery, so it fit under the steps of my motorhome where my original 2 GC2 golf cart batteries used to reside. If I went with a pre-assembled battery, this space would only hold 2 100ah LiFePo-4s batteries, giving me almost 3 times the storage capacity in this same small space.
I have 3 of these batteries. They are a bit larger and don't fit in my EG4 6 battery enclosed rack. Vartrer says i need a 4U rack. Do you know of a 3 slot and a 6 slot 4U rack with a built in busbar ?
Amazon free shipping, from Connected or Signature $300+ for shipping. Amazon is $939 so $330 cheaper than EG4 then add shipping and taxes $723 cheaper. Do I want EG4 yes absolutely am I buying one no. I get it shipping isn’t cheap but all the good companies now have some of the most expensive shipping I’ve ever seen which is driving me to order things on amazon. I can ship a 1,800 pond big truck transmission and rear end cheaper than I can get solar components something’s not right.
I am not going to get a server rack battery now, but the tear-down was informative and I wanted to know if the same quirks are found on their 100AH 12-volt battery.
I am strongly against 100Ah cells in a server rack form factor. I've built 4 server rack using GobelPower and EEL cases w/ JK BMS and 304Ah EVE cells. They are 15Kwh each, versus those 5Kwh. They cost me $800 more to build than buying a pre-built 100Ah. I would have needed 12 EG4-LL rack mount modules to match the 4 cases I built to reach my targeted 60Kwh storage. They talk to each other and my EG4 inverter just fine.
Finally a smart person. I will do the same, stop pushing these silly 100Ah units, that people are buying 3~7 units. Yes weight is an issue for a moment, once in place who moving them all the time?
Going to jump in and act like a bot (first several are all fake posts...) I also own 632 of these batteries. So good going to order 49 more. Super safe. You order more.
