Really appretiate your job sister. I am from the Baoulé tribe (an Ivorian Akan tribe like the N'zimas) and a huge fun of Maiway. I do understand some N'zima words but not all of them so thanks for your help here. Waiting for more videos from you. Much love!
I enjoy Meiway's songs a lot, though I enjoy them, I dont understand them. Its great what you are doing. Can you please do same for his Miss Lolo song which about tops his composition. Thanks. Lawrence
unfortunately the Akan space got split into 3 abominable colonial parts, East Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana and Togo. i grew up in the worse side, incapacitating me to understand Twi, which as a child, I thought a foreign language, while it's actually the Akan people language and therefore mine. and as if it wasn't enough, I just slightly understand Agni which is close to both Nzema and Twi, but do not fluently speak none of them. it's just from this remains, I yesterday caught what was Meiway singing since '92 (when I was a kid), that's maybe why TH-cam suggested me your channel 🙂 don't be sad if you don't understand the french part, you missed none; "on a gagné" just means "we won" "oh vieux briscard" -> "oh experienced guy" "la nuit tous les chats sont gris" is the proverb "all cats are grey in the dark" "Amlan tu es sapée" -> "Amlan, Abena, Amoin, Amoan, ... you're well dressed" "tu es ma gady ma gady eh préférée, tu es ma chérie ma chérie eh préférée" is just "you're my beloved" (possibly among many others) i'd have been useful if I had translated all this into Twi, but anyway, i'm happy to be here even i feel void talking to my own *abusua* in english or french; it's catastrophic 😞
Kpanlogo is one of the greatest Ga dances. The reference to Palongo, alongo, alongo, mao, mao...is a passing tribute and inspirational reference to the Ga dance.
Hello good morning dear, you're doing marvelously I don't speak nzema I'm learning a lot from you. But I'll be very happy to hearing from you translating violet string and Golgotha

This is not true, zoblazo is a musical genre Zoblazo (the dance of white handkerchiefs) inspired by folk rhythms and dances from the south of Ivory Coast.
No. But they emigrated to present day Cote d'Ivoire from the Ashanti Empire led by Queen Abla Pokou (Abena Poku), the niece of Opoku Ware I. So they are more or less cousins to the Ashantis.

Nzema is never close to twi. Nzema is rather very similar to Ahanta. It's like Twi and Fante. Sefwi too is similar in a way to Nzema.
