  • Mazda stalling at idle or running rough?
    This is the 2.3L Mazda engine and ford engines, although the procedure will be similar on most vehicles. Shows removing and cleaning throttle body. It also discuses cleaning the MAF and air filter. 2007 Mazda 5 Sport

    Thanks for showing the actual cleaning, because the Mazda bulletin says to not spray directly in the throttle body and stay away from the throttle shaft brgs.

    I saved $180 :-) ....
    I'm really lucky I saw this video on the day before I go to mechanic I already called him and he asked for $200 to fix my car , I used the computer to check it , then I saw this video, I paid just $20 , $14,99 for th filter and 4,99 for the cleaner , thanks a lot

    Worked for Mazda 3***:
    What worked for me was that I've changed the Air filter, spark plugs, Maf sensor clean and Throttle body clean up, BUT the most important thing that solved the problem was that I've filled the half of tank with REGULAR fuel with Instead of SPECIAL on a different fuel supplier than the one that I regularly use.
    It seems to be that the injectors and the fuel pump get dirty after using the 90 octanes (recommended by Mazda). Try to use Regular fuel some times to avoid this problem with the RPMs. Also, try to fuel your Mazda 3 at different fuel suppliers place.
    This procedure worked for me since the first time I filled the half of the tank with Regular Fuel.

    The reason this happens majority of the time is because the person disconnected the battery and the car starts up and the computer thinks the car is brand new and doesnt account for dirt in the throttle body. You can do a simple relearn procedure to fix this issue, let it run idle for 20 mins ac off, then let it run 20 mins with ac on full blast, then take it out for a spin and the caar should be fine.

    Just some carburettor cleaner and a cloth of rags you have the much of the same result in less time..... with japanese cars you can even use it to clean your injectors just squert some in while it idles. Just a little a time it will get sucked in through the injectors. It often used as start booster it can't do any harm. Open the valve also it is that place you really need to clean where the edge of the valve where it's seales with the walls around it. It's is a real easy Diy job

    • @royquesada5295

      Nooo...carb cleaners have too much chemicals. It will remove the coating on throttle body. Use throttle body cleaner.

    I believe after sliding the red clip back, you were supposed to press in on it for the catch/nub in the plug to clear the jack. Same for the coil on plug connectors.

    Great video ,thanks for posting. Did everything on video except disconnecting battery (don't have radio code).
    Overall really good results slightly better idleing but starting much more efficiently. i don't know if i've created another problem , but the car is starting to rev up to 2000 rpm when dipping the clutch at low speed and then returniing to an idle of 1000 rpm.
    Any ideas what the problem may be.
    Good health and safe motoring (greetings from Glasgow)

    • @wolveric0
      @wolveric0 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Slash250688 try disconnecting the negative side of your battery and turn the headlight switch on (to drain the remaining power on the system), keep it like that for about 5 min, after that re connect the battery and turn your car on, leave it alone for 7 to 10 minutes so it can adjust idle, after the 7 to 10 min turn on the ac and leave it alone for another 7 to 10 min, after that take it for a drive, that's how they told me i can make my mazda 3 re learn its idle throttle positions.

    Is this an electronic throttle body ? I cleaned mine recently and was at a loss as to how to open butterfly.. couldn't find cable anywhere. I just learned that apparently you aren't supposed to move the butterfly manually if electronic..can strip gears and damage it...I did by hand and didn't break it but it apparently is a risk

    • @ve2za
      @ve2za 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can open an electronic throttle body butterfly by turning the car on - WITHOUT starting it - and depress the accelerator pedal all the way down. Use some sort of stick or rod to keep the pedal to the floor. The throttle body butterfly will close back as soon as the pedal is released.

      Process helped some but was still missing and stalling, further examination found the timing chain is stretched and will need replaced. Also has possible VVT issues. will be doing a video on that process later. Did this process first as it is a service bulletin, know common issue, and much easier to complete. I've also had success with this technique on other vehicles.

    • @lscstudios4637

      I would start with spark plugs and ignition coil boots, it is possible that your engine is misfireing, also if it has a bad idle I would replace the IAC valve
