You guys should investigate “Thirsty Earth” garden irrigation. Shown on “Tiny Shiny Home” Channel episode Desert gardens need a better watering system. Might serve you well on ur raised beds, supposedly uses less water & waters more automatically - refilling reservoir only couple times a week 🤷♀️ Look good in video. Maybe Thirsty Earth will sponsor you.
You mentioned that you are planning on securing the outside corners of the base with stakes, which I agree is a great idea. I do not know what direction your prevailing wind is; but, imagine what a very strong wind would do to your three umbrella like chicken coop canopies, if not secured down. Thinking through each step of the build is always a GOOD thing. I'm enjoying watching the progress you and Katie are making on creating your homestead.
I think you might need a foot or two of chicken wire around the bottom to keep predators out. It would be easy for something to crawl through that fence and kill a number of chickens.
a bunch of chanels i watch use plumbers tape with the hole in it to fasten the panels to the wood frame--one i saw folded it in half around the wire so they only had to use one screw--might be worth a try:)
Sorry for saying this, if I understand, to prevent the trouble of clipping the hooves, you cut their food supply ? Grain.maybe check for selenium deficiency? If they are not getting a stable diet due to lack of knowledge. ,
I have the same issue with my Great Pyrenees barking at my neighbor. She is improving but it's been years of trying to teach her not to. My neighbor put forward a complaint concerning her. That sucked. But I can't help but love her.
Your coops are looking good, another TH-camr, Constance at Cosmopolitan Cornbread built a couple of coops like this. Hope your sheep are getting better, love the dogs, they keep you hopping.
Watch her, if the limp gets worse call a vet. H9nestly listening to your description and watching her I think its a stone bruise , those heel up fine 99% of the time in a few days on their own.
do some more research regarding the myth of feeding grain to sheep and their hooves grow. To much grain for any animal could cause acidosis but it does nothing to cause the hooves to grow. lol
You guys work very well together, but Nate, you rock working on your own when needs/must, even if a 2nd pair of hands would make things easier. Everything is looking good. Do you watch LUMNAH ACRES … or … DIYFFERENT … You Tube channels? My favorites, including MY SELF RELIANCE (but Shawn does real off grid up in Canada and builds everything from logs, most all hand done). (I also like to check in with Hollar Homestead and Justin Rhodes periodically) I wish you could get Al from Lumnah NH) and Doug from DIYfferent (FL) to come out for a couple of days to walk through your house and property.

I LOVE how you talk to your furbabies.❤.
Glad you are taking better care of yourself Nate!
Hello Brenda
It's looking great. Watching you build is very therapeutic. Good job.
Love your interactions w all your animals, love your dogs ❤
great job its looking good when Katie gets home she will be surprised hugsssss
Barking is what guardian dogs are supposed to do.
And by now they recognize the neighbour-so no need to bark at them continuously. I wouldn’t like it either
Good job Nate Love seeing the animals
Looking good. Thanks for sharing✌️🇺🇸❤️
The chicken coop(s) are looking great! I hope your sheep heals fully. The dogs definitely keep you hopping, but they sure are cute!!
You need to cut her hoofs , they get over grown, check in between her toes . Copper tokes spray in between her toes on the sore foot,
Hello Marie
Looks great! May want to think about using wire cause I know from experience that over time the zip ties will weaken but you should be good for now
Hello Karen
Loving how you deal with your dear friends kkkk...dogs, chickens and the sheeps ...they all need it❤
Hello katalin

I love to see you stop your work to take a minute with the dogs...they need love too, and you are so kind to them. Love the dogs.

Your doing great 👍😊
It does look fantastic, Nate! I'm glad I'm not the only one who talks to my dogs like that. Lol
Make sure that they don't have parasites considering that they're always on your grass
Hello Melissa
Ben Hollar has a great method for composting fast and easy using the chickens. I think you’ve seen it on his farm.

Coops looking good ❣️❣️❣️
Well done great job
With the framing being off the ground in the front, how are you going to keep snakes, raccoons, possums, skunks, etc out of coops at night?
Hello Karla
@@SmithHiggins-ph2dn Good evening fellow YT viewer. Is it Mr. Higgins or Mr. Smith?🤷🏾♀️
@@karlagrymes649 hi there good evening

Great work!

Love how these are turning out!!! Simple and effective and could be used for so many different things!!! Great work
Very methodical, thoughtful work. It looks great!
Yeah, that does look good and I was so amazed at how fast that was snapped your fingers, and it was done

Nice coop, look forward to seeing the finished product! Will the bottom be secured from predators getting in? Even snakes
Beautiful!!
Great progress Nate. The coups are looking good. Trust the problem with the sheep are diagnosed and they are on the recovery road.
Nice job! It's more than okay ❤
Awesome job

@@SmithHiggins-ph2dn are you a troll?
Looks great Nate.
❤❤love your animals something that south my soil.
Thanks for sharing
Justin Rhodes recently had a lame sheep and he grabbed it and scraped and trimmed its hoof and then it was soon walking fine.
Now I understand what you’re doing with the chicken coop.

That was a good idea to remove the t-posts Nate. No overthinking brother....your trying your best.😁😁😁😁😁
Good job. Looks nice.😉
Looks good!
Looks good
Looks like a chicken version of the Crystal Palace built by Prince Albert. It's great!
Good job
Good afternoon Nate so sorry the sheep is having a difficulty at this time

Aren't you going to move your Chickens to grass? They will fertilize it for you.
Or moving daily on the newly ploughed garden field would work wonders on fertiliser and cleaning up weeds.
👍
Is the drywall done? Would love to see how it looks!
🏠🏡
Don't you think that treated lumber would be better and would last longer next to the ground?
💜
I would be concerned that the hoops would collect rain and flood the ground inside the hoop houses

Why didn’t call the vet to come to see her?
Is this coop permanent or movable? You need to make the most out of your chickens manure to fertilise your property.
Wouldn't it be easier to levelled the ground for cleaner long lasting structure?
Did you call the vet?
check and see if her hooves are over grown that will make a goat limp
…@Nate….how are you going to keep out small animals and rodents out of the chicken coops with the base of them not level on the ground ?
Love to see what you would look like without all the beard and ponytail
Check out their older videos.
Looks like she could have an abscess
It also has to do with only being on dirt and no pavement 😢
Get a hoof trimmer
Lamb with foot area pain pills
Get it built and quit playing with the dam dogs!!!
Why???
she looks likes she scratching to shed. she might have twisted funny and tweaked the shoulder
Hello Laura
WTF!...was that?
Stop the dog thing!!!!
Chill! His dogs, his time. Who are you to tell him what to do?
Why stop loving on dogs? What's your problem?
