- A beginners guide to building a Hoop Coop for Chickens. These style hoop coops are cheap, versatile, easy to build, and durable. We have three of these coops and they have withstood a hurricane and several tropical storms. If you can use a drill and saw, you can build these hoop coops.
Materials needed:
14 - 2x4x8 (treated)
2 - Cattle Panels
Screws
Staples
Tarp
Bungie Cords
Hinges
Door Latch
Door Handle
Chicken Wire or Hardware cloth

Enjoyed your coop instructions and seeing your family. I was tickled to see y'all are in Pace. We live in Pensacola!
Thank you Mam. We sure appreciate it.
Very nice build for beginners to try. New homesteaders can build a fast easy coop for their fowl. Thanks for sharing my friends.
Thank you for watching, we hope this helps someone who needs an inexpensive structure for their poultry, rabbits or small livestock. This is even usable as a goat house! Very versatile structure!

I'm wanting to use the same basic build but adding a raised henhouse on the back side. Eventually I will use metal roofing to cover it but will start with a tarp because of funding.
We have used tarps and they have worked well. Watch the video where we turn a hoop coop into a goat shelter where we use pvc roof panels. Much easier to work with and no sharp edges for animals. Cheaper than metal also...thanks
Would you be able to provide a list of materials with measurements. I have never done anyhting like this before. I am a very late starter 70+ yrs. Thanks.
I will speak to my husband about that information and let you know. Thank you for watching.
my hoa said i could build one if my chickens were deaf mutes
