It’s not my favorite, but definitely extremely underrated. So many great tracks, my favorites probably being this, Something’s Gotta Give and The Farm.
It's my favorite and criminally underrated. I think their age made them not cool enough to be a huge hit when it came out. I got to see them during this tour when I was 11 years old and blew my mind. Was a flawless show and a flawless album.
Remember that tour well. The show opened with this song and it immediately brought crazy energy to the show. They had a huge curtain with lights from behind showing a silhouette of the band on the curtain which dropped as Nine Lives started started to play. It was a great show.
This album deserved far more attention. So many good songs but "Pink" got the midst attention. On this tour they opened with this title song. It was so cool. They had a sheer curtain around the stage that dropped a few seconds into this song. This song was a great opening song for a concert, but too short-lived. When you have so many songs, it is sad when such good songs get archived.
Kevin Tarvin I was ten. It was my first concert and I didn't even know what to expect. It changed my entire life even from the back row!!! Thank you for the description! I don't remember everything about that night, I just know it was one of the most important moments of my life. Thank you! I'm a fashion designer now, of course inspired thoroughly by Steven Tyler. No idea what I might have wanted to do if I hadn't become a fanatic so young lol
Omg, it was incredible. The curtain with the lighting, fog, and special effects was perfect. It was my first concert when I was 11, and I remember it so clearly-one of the highlights of my life. I saw Aerosmith live several times after but it wasn't the same as the Nine Lives tour show.
Amazing performance. I think "nine lives" is their last great album and one of the best of their career (and my personal favourite among Rocks, Pump and Riahp).
Ok I agree that Nine Lives is their last great album of original material, if you dont count the cover album Honkin on Bobo or any of their greatest hits compilations. And I agree that Rocks and to a lesser extent Pump are among their best. But how can you think RIAHP is one of their "great" albums? That's the only one made without Joe Perry and it has zero hits - even Just Push Play had one hit song (just like nine lives) and even if Songs From Another Dimension didnt do well at least it has the full original lineup, features some classic riffs they had been saving for 20 years, and was produced by their old 70s producer who did Rocks and Toys. But I cant think of any redeeming qualities to RIAHP except for completists or someone with a morbid curiosity of how they sounded when they were the most strung out. RIAHP is to Aerosmith what One Hot Minute is to RHCP lol, no matter how good the musicians or producers, it's a low point because the lineup changed their sound
In ROCK music the one thing I like is High PITCH in VOCALS... Steven tyler has that one embedded in his sound box...that makes each of his song special... its not the guitar that rulz but the VOICE rules... his genes are special
its not a playback. i personally know this song by heart, and he take s a lot of liberties with the melody in this video that are not in the recording...he's even offkey a couple times...a "playback" would all be in perfect key and sound closer to the recording. .this performance is freakin AWESOME!
Everybody talking about the track/ the album but.. did you guys hear that Bass? It's amazing. Whenever i want to hear this song i always search this version.
@MsDramagirl12 On this one it's Brad to the left. He played lead on Last Child, Back in the Saddle and Nobody's Fault as well. Brad's a seriously good guitar player and can go head to head with Joe on any day. He's in Aerosmith for a reason. Saw them live twice. Type in Sharpshooter and listen to Brad's solo. This was after he left Aerosmith in 1980.
Thx for pointing out some classic songs that Brad plays lead on. Many people dont know that Brad is one of the only members of Aerosmith who is a classically trained musician. He can def go toe to toe with Joe any day. That's one of the reasons Brad contributes to the band's sound so well - while Joe is busy soloing his ass off, Brad can apply his musical theory knowledge to play chords/riffs that blend well with the lead or match the composition of the whole song. Brad doesnt get as much attention, maybe because he isnt as flashy a player, but everything he plays compliments the song overall very well rather than standing out or drawing attention away from the other instruments. Brad seems like a very tasteful, generous guitar player that could probably show off a lot more with more complex licks, but instead plays what sounds best for the song and leaves room for other members to shine as well :)
bad ass! rarely do you ever see stuff from Nine Lives done live i agree favorite album right there best work since "Rocks" does anyone know where i can get a video or mp3 of "The Farm" off that album live
aajaja muy jodida santi nine lives para steven en estos momentos, ya esta grande y encima sigue fumando jaja, pero igual fue el mejor recital de mi vida y para mi es el mejor, lejos
Same thing with Vince Neil. I saw a recent Motley Crue live video on TH-cam and realized that even though Aerosmith are like at least 20 years older they can still blow most bands out of the water even on a bad day
This is just brilliant!.. Awesome!! To me Nine Lives is one of the very best Aerosmith records. Aerosmith fans do you agree with me on that?...
It’s not my favorite, but definitely extremely underrated. So many great tracks, my favorites probably being this, Something’s Gotta Give and The Farm.

I would make that argument for sure, its definitely my favorite.
I can't believe Steven is making those cat screams....WOW
There is no VOCALS as superiour as Steven Tyler in ROCK... He is a legend
Nine Lives is my favorite Aerosmith album FOR SURE!
me too. their best
Joey Kramer may be the most underrated drummer in rock & roll. On this tune, he's solid as a rock and absolutely killing it!!
My thoughts exactly! Joey and Tommy are machines. The most solid rhythm section in rock history.
totally agree, AND he's holding back!! He's capable of playing in a far more complicated manner. But he always plays with just the right groove.
The Stones could only dream about sounding this good live. 🙋♂️
かっこいよすぎる!!!
Nine Lives is their best album
This album is AWESOME. So underrated and underplayed.
5/22/20 MY LOVE FOR THIS SONG BROUGHT ME HERE TODAY!!!
I had the pleasure of seeing them live six times and they only played this song once. I was so thrilled!
Old "Nine Lives" album cover in the back behind Joey! Loves that art!!
I was at Live Argentina 2011, and i prayed to hear Nine Lives and Full Circle!
Anyway, the best night of my life, Steven rulz
This is a masterpiece... Its was the first song that i had listened to when i was a kid - the intro of the video game "dead or alive 3"
Best band ever!!!!!!!!!!! I love them

Many od those Songs Are Very difficult to sing live.. fallen Angels.. Nine Lives .. hole in my soul..

40+ years and they still have the same groove they hit us with in the 70's...WOW
One of my favourite Aerosmith songs, and the best live version!
DOA introduced me to AeroSmith back in the day and I'm ecstatic it did. :D
damn that vocal's flawless
I absolutely love Aerosmith’s during Nine Lives era! 🤘🏻
man... this song is so great, I would wanted to hear this live when they came to my country two years ago, maybe next time
私にとっての、ビジュアル、声、演奏の理想系がエアロスミスです。生きてるうちに海外で観るのが目標です。

Seriously good lead guitar by Brad Whitford!
In ROCK music the one thing I like is High PITCH in VOCALS... Steven tyler has that one embedded in his sound box...that makes each of his song special... its not the guitar that rulz but the VOICE rules... his genes are special

this is live...Steven is improvising quite a bit, as is Joey with his drumming. This very live.
Amazing performance
Everybody talking about the track/ the album but.. did you guys hear that Bass? It's amazing. Whenever i want to hear this song i always search this version.
Hamilton is brilliant behind the bass. The weakest member/s of Aerosmith is a push between ST and JP and that is probably why they’re so good.
BESTIAL !! 🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘
perfect :*
