I was just in the bathroom crying because I struggle with the flat iron and my hair is super thick and long so it takes forever to curl or style and I don't have the patience for velcro rollers.

This is an awesome solution to that. I also recommend taking large sections of your hair, twisting each section into tight twists. Run your straightener over the twist slowly until it holds it shape (I've seen people use foil over the twist then the straightener but I've never done that). Do that to all of the sections, then brush it out with your fingers then a wide tooth comb and you're good to go. ♥️ My hair is long af too. I know the struggle lol
I mean, my hair just straight up doesn't keep a curl, it will either not show, or disspear within the first 5 minutes of doing it.

I've been thinking about this recently, and him mentioning the 500 dollar price tag makes me want to say this. It's not that deep but this is how it is for me. Yes, it is worth the 500 dollar price tag with all of its benefits and lasting for years. However, my monthly paycheck isn't even 500 dollars. It would take me far too long to save for this straightener, when the 15 dollar one at walmart is right there. It's not about the investment for me, it's what I can afford.
Again, not to be too deep, it's just money has been a struggle and this made me want to comment. I will be trying out these techniques!!!
I agree, the math doesn’t make sense for a lot of people. Maybe it makes sense for a professional who straightens different people’s hair several times per day. Normal consumers shouldn’t be reaching for their straight irons more than everyday/every-other-day/every-third-day (whatever works for you!). I have one from Target that was maybe $20-25. It’s been a faithful tool once or twice per week for over 3 years. Can’t see where investing $500 is worth it for us regular consumers.
BUT...his method of sectioning and then clipping the freshly ironed sections until they are cool is a VERY good technique, and very inexpensive to try. It has always worked for me...being methodical and patient is rewarding!

I say both but majority of the time is hair straightener. I just use flat iron if I’m in the store looking at some and talking to a sales person, as some don’t get it when I’m saying hair straightener .

I never use hair dryer on my hair too cos it makes it super frizzy so I always go straight in with a hair straightener

Hmm, yes - I also seem to recall him saying that he kept getting crease lines on the hair, so marked it down for that. To be charitable, it was perhaps the first time he used it - he just made reference to that at 06:08 - and has since found the knack of using it better; I know I've had some 'minor disaster' moments using tools on my own hair till I got the hang of them! 😂

Okay I don’t usually comment on TH-cam videos but I had to share. It usually takes me an hour to an hour and a half to straighten my curly hair. Using his technique here it literally took me FIFTEEN MINUTES YA’LL IM SHOOK. I set up a timer and I am in disbelief. THANK YOU BRAD

He said he’s had a few months to work with it, and he specifically said not doing the roots adds to the volume. Dyson saw his earlier review and still sponsored him. People could use these same techniques without this specific flat iron. I have no intention of buying this but I will try this curl pattern.

You’ll just have to let it air dry first before using the flat iron. If your hair is curly or wavy, the flat iron part will just take a bit longer.
Amazon yourself the Revlon Pro Collection Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer. I was in the same boat and avoided blow-dryers without diffusers. That one tool (under $50) has been incredible.
