      Please tell us what size loaf tin you used. I followed recipe exactly and put bread in 9x5 loaf pan and could only get it to rise to the rim. The bread was delicious after it was baked ! Was my bread tin too big ?

    I did not have the flour needed, but used my regular all purpose King Arthur’s flour. The loaf rose high and proud and browned and I added sesame seeds on top. Loaf is perfect. Thank you for another bread recipe of yours I will add to my rotation. Lovely.❤🍞🥪

      I am glad to know we can make this bread with regular all -purpose flour...and I do use King Arthur's.

    This is by far the best bread recipe i have come across. Since I discovered it I make it 2 to 3 times a week. I don't buy bread anymore. My family keeps asking me to make it for them.

    bread flour is really hard to find where i live so i just tried it with all purpose flour and it is AMAZING, seriously the best sandwich bread i have tried, and i have already made it three times. i really thank you for this recipe, it works perfectly, its practically foolproof and it has made me happy each time

    Will no one has explained the milk and the sugar and the olive oil in a recipe for bread thank you so much you may give yourself an academy award for TH-cam for doing that because almost every recipe I've seen for bread says water.

      The tangzhon/yudane method also uses milk and keeps bread very soft and the milk seems to help preserve it. My milk breads will keep for a week in a bag without molding.
      A tangzhon is a cooked paste made with milk and flour. It's really easy.

    I read recently that commercial bread is the most highly processed (full of chemicals) food in the grocery. Another reason to make your own, and it's so easy.

    Im never one to tout peoples things but have to say her book is one purchase Im glad I made last month from target. You dont have to be a master chef to create her dishes. Just patience, gather the ingredients and following the directions will yield wonderful results. Well done Emma, your book is wonderfully done from start to finish.     Emma!! I baked your cibatta bread recipe yesterday which turned out soo airy and delicious! I'm planning on making your italian no knead bread next and I'll add this sandwich bread to my list! I hope you keep making more bread videos (especially Italian bread yuuuum). I also love how you explain the reason behind why you want to do certain steps - I don't think these things get explained enough. Understanding how bread works has really helped my baking skills I think. I feel like there are too many cookie and cake baking videos on youtube, so I get extra excited for your bread ones.

    I felt lazy and even "no knead" was too much 😂... So I did it in my bread machine on basic mode and this bread is truly delicious 😋

    I made this bread today and it turned out sooooo good!! I actually just finished having a slice before coming here to leave a comment. 🙈 even though I watched the whole vid and did everything the same way, I was somehow still shocked that it ACTUALLY looked like sandwich bread??? this is the fourth bread recipe I've tried, and I'm having a lot of fun trying new things!! but this is my fave recipe so far because it's the first one that truly is like store‐bought bread!! I was so excited when I cut the first slice!! the texture, colour, and density was perfect! when I toasted some and tasted it, it was delicious! and I can't believe that I made it! I haven't felt that pure happiness with something I've made in a while. I've always been super intimidated by breadmaking, so l will defs check out your other recipes. this made me feel much more confident in my baking skills. thank you for sharing this! ☺️

    Could you clarify the 3 cups = 420g flour? I thought 1 cup = 120g, so wouldnt that be 360g?

      You want 420g flour. The problem is that cup measurements are very imprecise. Depending on the flour and how you measure it, you get different amounts in a cup. Emma uses 1 cup as 140g flour. If you want to be precise and accurate, always use the gram amounts.

    I really like the explanations for the ingredients and how they contribute to the bread. One question though, since my family keeps bread in the fridge due to the usually hot and humid climate, how would that affect the homemade bread?

      Keeping bread in the fridge means it will go stale quickly. The best thing to do if your climate is really hot is to slice the bread and freeze it. Then you can take slices out of the freezer as you need them. They will defrost quickly.

    Also can I use less yeast and let it stand longer for 10-12 hours and bake in the same way?

      If you want to let it rise for 10-12 hours, the best thing to do is put it in the fridge overnight to slow down the rise.

    Mmmmmmm my whole apparment smells like bread! I used the non mixer method but only let it rise 2 times. Once initially then I flattened and rolled it, put it in the pan and baked..it rose really large the second time and it looks so perfect. Ty!!

    This was delicious and stayed fresh for four days. (That’s when the last piece was eaten) I recommend using Glad press and seal to wrap your bread. It is such a tight fit it keeps your bread fresher longer. It works great for keeping fresh mozzarella from spoiling, too.

    Happy New Year, Emma! Because of my complex health issues, I eat a very restricted diet. What I have learned is, I should be using flour from Italy. It is "unbromated" and has no chemicals. People who supposedly can't have gluten can eat bread made from this flour. I can tolerate some gluten, so I end up buying sprouted bread. In any case, if you have any suggestions on the best flour I can find in the US, I would appreciate it!!

    I'm so afraid of baking bread because of one bad experience a long time ago, but I might try this. I do prefer wheat bread for my digestion, though. I'll look to see if you have a sandwich wheat bread that's as easy as this. Thanks for all the recipes.

    This recipe is the only recipe you need . I put everything in my bread maker and let it go through the entire dough cycle . Then take it out and roll it into a cylinder and do the second proofing in my oven with the proof setting . Wait for it to rise up to the rim and then bake it. I liked it a bit saltier so I added another 1/4 teaspoon of salt . The bread does stay soft even three days later and it taste even better after you toast it. It becomes so crispy .

    So I made this loaf today and it tastes amazing!!! My only question Emma @emmasgoodies is that my bread had a hole the resembled the way I rolled the dough when shaping. So each slice has a hole… I’ll be making it again though. My other question is whether I can cut the dough and shape to make rolls? Is this dough versatile?! Thank you for your time, and dedication!     a) after using the bread mixer, once you take it out how many times and how often do you let the dough rest? What size is your bread pan? Thanks
