    Its a lot easier to do when you are tall. I am 5'8" and I have to jump or lift one leg. Otherwise the racket will hit the ground...for me anyway.

      Hey, sorry, I'm also 5'8" and also 52 years old. I've been hitting tweeners since I was a (short) teenager. It's all about timing. My tweener lob needs work on though. Lol

      @@miguelbarahona6636 I'm lost. With a tweener the court is behind you. 🤔. How can you look at the "incoming ball"? My perception is that you're running in the opposite direction of the net hence the ball is going further away. Your goal is to reach the ball, over it, and hit the ball backwards to the court. Your advice is confusing me, unless I'm misunderstanding.

    • @Dom-yv4nq
      @Dom-yv4nq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@miguelbarahona6636 I know, I hit them regularly. I was questioning your description. You spoke of the "incoming ball" and I got quite confused. Anyway I think we understand each other now. I need to practice my tweener lob tho. Haven't hit a successful one yet.

    I'm not an expert but I think Emma started running early expecting a lob. The beauty of tweener is the unexpected, the sense of being late and desperation to reach the ball that's way ahead and almost on its second bounce. If she started running when the ball was already high, that'd have made it feel more natural to her.

    • @ldeue4837
      @ldeue4837 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep.... I learned pretty easily just using a wall... this is helpful because you can practice angling your body for more control and accuracy.

    The main reason why the tweener is not popular on the WTA tour is that women are shorter than men. It is obviously a lot easier for tall people considering that racquet length is the same for everyone. Has Schwartzman ever hit a tweener?

    • @IntuitiveTennis
      @IntuitiveTennis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plenty of 6 foot women that can’t hit Tweeners on tour. Look up kasaktina (who’s shorter) teaching Osaka th-cam.com/video/7Bq-CcMRXRo/w-d-xo.html

  • @kcazzzzz
    @kcazzzzz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    tweeners are overrate. i prefer to keep the ball on my left when running, then just use a forehand slice to hit backwards. it is easy to use and you can hit it with good height too to lob the net player

  • @ramonl6047

    I have another theory why women don't do tweeners, basketball. You see, Nick plays basketball (assuming coz he wore a Kobe jersery). You don't raise your other leg like a dog peeing; it's more like a basketball move, eurostep like James Harden, so that it is more fluid.

  • @TheRomeogigli
    @TheRomeogigli 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    sorry, but here you made a mistake as a coach.. you gave the lob much too fast and too low.. to be able to make a tweener, you need a longer and much higher ball.. the bounce height is important.. here she doesn't have any chance

  • @mattiastennis
    @mattiastennis 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very rarely seen a woman player do a tweener shot ever and never in a tournament and you are right that generally in a physical exertion manner women do not 'show off'. They do not need to simply.
    They simply have not evolved to do so and have always adopted more conserving and defensive physical expressions especially more so after the Paleolithic era(when females in my Paleo-Nordid ancestors were athletic and ruthless) it seems. As they are the trait selectors and not at the genetic edge or pioneers like men are they would not need to take on this role for their species. Men meanwhile were under harsh(until very recentley in this artificial 'society' unless one is talking fake wealth or 'money') selection due to a woman needing the strongest, fittest, most co-ordinated and intelligent male possible and a man's physical expressions and abilities define the quality on offer. Doing impressive-like things that some may consider 'crazy' have always been a part of how men and especially young men are. In Scandinavia and some parts of Australia this used to be common and I think Russians have this and would understand it.
    Infact when I have played practice sets or club matches with ladies or girls and I have ever lobbed them(which is rare) they seem to simply give up or just do a backhand like Emma did.
    So it makes sense that you see the bravest, daring, highest risk and fanciest shots employed generally by men as we are the outwards attacking element of the species
