Wow, I find it extremely difficult to hit these high forehands that Ema's hitting with a "tucked elbow" forehand. This is just impossible for me. For the mortal ones, I can only do these with an open stance and straight arm. What a talent, very impressive!
Love your videos and energy Nic. Always a joy seeing your posts.
Cheers and a great rest of the week!

Good luck on your comeback, Ema! 💪🎾Nice work from both of you. I can't wait to watch the match between Shamir and Ema. As an amateur player myself, I hope Shamir brings his best tennis and doesn't give it to Ema easily. 😁

Great video Nick and Ema! I love it. Such a difficult thing to use body on forehand when you are a rec player. So difficult to load enough energy to hit them floating balls. I have always wanted to be the first one to comment on Nick's videos. I think I did it this time ...😀

Those hard hitters are not only a threat to mademoiselle Emma, but they are a threat to anyone holding a racquet! When the ball bounces at you like it has a vendetta against you, auf, that's difficult.
    Very nice video. Thanks coach.

Hi Nick! The first recovery step has to be what? Lateral or cross or something else? The situation is not running to the other side but normal recovery to the middle. Thanks! Great session as always!

The sequence around 2:00 shows why teaching can affect the coach's own technique so badly. In other videos when you work on your own one handed backhand, you focus on going all the way through with your finish. But here, when you're teaching, you're forced to steer the ball and keep the pace in check, and your finish is the opposite of what you really want. I remember when I was teaching, it was my volley that was affected most. I had a lot of beginner lesssons and mostly stood at the net. Volleying the ball back slowly made me open up the racket and take pace off the ball, and my volley really suffered. What do you do specifically to counter those effects on your own game?

Nick, did you notice Emma lowering her toss at the last serves? I think she did a bit and I think this may have also helped her with the placing issue she mentioned. Or she just did a temporary adjustment because of the wind, just for that session?

    Amazing lesson Nic !
    You're the one !
Nic, this has nothing to do with this class, but it's a doubt/question I've wanted to ask you for a long time.
I know that for a certain level of players you advise playing with lower string tensions as a way to avoid the possibility of injury in addition to other advantages.
My question is the following: to what extent in a racket that has values between 50 and 60 lbs as the ideal margin for string tension, is stringing 48 lbs totally wrong or do you not see this as a major problem ?
Can I do it or should I avoid doing it ?
    Thank you so much Nic

I like this series and I dont want to sound negative but you have to be realistic. It's good to have confidence in yourself, it's a powerful motivator but the level of competitiveness on the WTA circuit these days is just bonkers. I have seen u14 girls at the Canadian championship hit forehands harder than Ema. And that's not practice either, that was during regular gameplay. Hitting strong, powerful hits during practice is one thing but during a game its a whole different world. I believe that Ema has alot of work to do to get to the WTA level (If ever). I like the approach you have with her and your tennistic expertise is very valuable to her game. Don't give up but be realistic, small attainable objectives are better than Huge, mount Everest summit goals. ;)

  • @miguelroda8779

For me her biggest problem is the lack of explosion on her movement. Seems like she only has 1 speed. To play at highest level this may hurt her game a lot. Technically she is great. Just need some reps in to gain confidence.

  • @gonzalobarenas4300

If I may something I noticed with her, is her extremely late preparation. She's preparing when the ball bounces and that's a major problem in my humble opinion.

I think Ema has a ton of match play and is at a much higher level than Shamir so this is very likely or they decided to scrap it altogether and never played. A player looking to play wta tournaments has got to be at a much higher level than a 4.5 rated male recreational player.

I remember my friend, pretty solid player maybe about 5.0 , lost smoothly to Ondraskova. Her best ranking was about 80 in the WTA , late ninties. From that time I have some comparison to level of WTA.

what i see here is an ema that is playing with coaching intensity. she needs to up her game, be more athletic, if this project is to succeed! it was a lot better from 2:59, BUT... her footwork was lacking. she was airbourne, yes. but she needs to move INTO the ball, not just left and right and then up in the air with muscle tension!

  • @ssenssel
    @ssenssel ปีที่แล้ว

I like this series of videos and wish Ema all the luck. But to be brutally honest, with this game (specially serves and FH) Ema at best is going to win only a couple of singles matches on ITF 15s level. Maybe do a little better in doubles at that same level. Unfortunately WTA she has no chance..
