Had this very same model for just over a week now and pretty much can’t take it off my wrist! It’s absolutely awesome, which is probably making the rest of my G-Shock collection quite jealous as they’re not getting much usage currently 😆
I have the green model and what a beast! The location feature gets me straight to my pickup at Walmart perfectly lol. Syncs like a champ 3 to 4 times daily. App works great as well. I love the accuracy of the barometric pressure. I can predict weather conditions quite accurately. Sunrise and sunset is a feature I love as well.
I thought the same. I have the 2000-1A5, the sand one. Beautiful watch. Then I just got the same exact model/color in the video and the thing is a piece of art. I have a feeling it's going to get a lot more wrist time than the 2000, my froggies and my full metal square.
I brought the G Shock mudmaster ggb100 a couple of years ago, and used it for work. I now own a Garmin fenix 7x pro sapphire solar and it's a beast. I'll buy another G Shock when the right one comes along. Awesome review
Really want a chunky top quality G Shock like this but the complete lack of any tracking or smart features meant I choose the Garmin Instinct 2X Solar.
I'm saving up to buy this! I already have the GWG 1000 in green and I think its the best/perfect G shock design ever made but that red cherry strap and looks of this has won me over. I just wish it didn't have Bluetooth as I like my watch being a watch without connecting to my phone. Too many things need connecting these days, even my washing machine and fridge needs connecting!
That’s awesome! You don’t have to connect Bluetooth if you don’t want to! Most of the functions are available on the watch itself anyway 😎 can’t speak for your household appliances though 😅

I have the previous version of this watch. I wanted to upgrade, but it's a lot of dough for not a lot more. So, I think I'll rock the GWG 2000 for now.
You forgot to mention that this Mudmaster's compass has an automatic horizontal, magnetic declination and orientation correction function. This is a very useful feature, that Casio first implemented in the Gulfmaster GWN-Q1000 and Frogman GWF-D1000B. I didn't understand why Casio hadn't implemented this functionality in the Mudmaster GWG-1000 and GWG-2000.
Very nice watch stacked full of new features 😮but am still a big fan of the look of the original gwg-1000-1a3er imo its the best looking largest and most rugged out of the mudmaster range.
I bought the green version on holiday in Spain, which initially I wanted the red one. They only had the green one in stock, so I managed to get it for a decent price. I have to say, that it looks lovely and I've had a few people saying that they like it.
There’s only one g shock that you need if not hiking, mapping and that’s the original GWG 1000………… posted on many vlogs, big, simplistic to use and has everything you need for most occasions……….. and still turns heads when people see it !
Got my self GWG-B1000-1A4JF (Red). I agree with you, the red one is the coolest among three options available. This latest Mudmaster well engineered and also confortable on wrist. By the way GW-9500-1A4JF (Orange Mudman) I also find it looks so good 😁 Merry Christmas 🌲
I really like this model, but wish they would do a more stealthy model. Hopefully one be issued soon. For now, I'll stick with my GWG-100-1AER No bells and whistles, I don't need them, but just as rugged.
Ordered the black one for the stealthy look of it. They sent me the red one by accident. OK, the red one looks really nice in person. Especially combined with the yellow accents (I wish the black version had yellow accents too, instead of red). One problem with it though: it doesn't really combine with anything else, as I never wear red things. And that's the problem with many things in nice original colors, no matter how beautiful in itself they look. I have a number of watches. One of them is the first Mudmaster (GWG-1000) in green (yeah, I do like to wear green/khaki sometimes). The new GWG-B1000 is definitely smaller. The old one is so big it's impossible to combine it with anything else than short sleeves. The new GWG-B1000 looks way more refined. It's almost a dress version of the old Mudmaster. They are both among the most beautiful watches G-Shock ever made. For operating outdoors and with gloves: no problem with the old GWG-1000, but the newest version does not only have a smaller case, but also smaller buttons. Especially the crown is harder to operate. Keep that in mind if you want something big and easy to operate. For 95 % of us though, the smaller GWG-B1000 will do just fine. It's hardly more expensive and bluetooth is welcome. One thing I thought I was going to dislike, but doesn't really matter: the buttons are in plastic. The old Mudmaster hast steel buttons. The plastic buttons do look OK though. I do want to add that I did not really use the watch, since I want to return it and get the black version. All plastics are still on it, so I didn't even wear it.

I've writen it somewhere else before, this watch uses the same design language as Lamborghini, it's a Lambo on the wrist! Still not sure I'm getting one though.

Agreed. I think the 2000 is often overlooked. I bought mine like 3 months ago and with multiple g shocks and dive wateches usually in rotation, I haven't even thought of putting another watch on since I got it.
I got the gwg2000 when it first dropped. I haven’t seen another one that I would want right now. I literally get asked about it all the time especially when the auto light feature works when it’s dark the new one is nice but not worth upgrading imo if you already have a mudmaster. I’ll wait until they release something that catches my eye like the gwg2000
I have been wearing and using my red one for a few weeks now one of the functions I like playing with is map log wich works very well but I find it runs the watch battery down especially if you let run for the 12h I don't like having to unscrew the crown to adjust Functions I have also the bb100 which is much easy to use and also the strap keep stays in place unlike the metal one on b1000 which has also picked up a few scratches now along with the buckle there was also had a problem with the software which at to be updated via the app wich sucks on my GWB5600 I could pick eny town or city on the old app and set to world time also you could choose your own phone find tone
Thanks for the review. IMO iit looks too much like a fashion watch now compared to the 2000 model. I actually prefer the Gulfmaster GWN-1000B-1BJF color scheme, with the 2000 model layout. But (of course) Casio never makes "The Perfect Watch" so we keep buying new ones lol 🙃

I have the Mud 1 and 2k. This one definitely seems nice, but It's not a must buy for me. The analog Frog is also in my collection. If you don't have a Mud, definitely get this one. If you do, you know.
For me, the GWG-1000 is still the best Mudmaster to date, the design is still amazing. But I'm happy to see Casio massively improve the design from the GWG-2000, which I found to be too flashy and cramped (especially on the dial itself).
It’s not tough! My 13 month old granddaughter dropped mine out of her playpen (24 inches) onto a tile surface and it broke! That’s right, didn’t throw it, just dropped it and the forged carbon bezel broke. Warranty was for 24 months and this was at 25 months so Casio told me get lost!
I bought a mud master 5 years ago, and now the minute and hour hands are stuck, they don’t rotate anymore, the strap shows wearing, and when the batteries were replaced I was told there was a lot of sand inside. And I am not an outdoors person.
It also might have an increase world time situation but still not atomic clock signal for Oz/NZ/PNG/Indonesia (maybe the latter 2 if ur lucky LOL. Just what one needs for walking the dog LOL. Just joking!
Anything that connects to the phone Casio app is a no go for me, I had big issues with GPR H1000 not updating firmware and almost bricking the watch, besides for me the GWG1000 the OG version of this MudMaster looks even better, no gimmicky phone connection, good old analog, digital, manual workflow! So if you are looking out for a MudMaster get the OG GWG 1000! Great G-Shock!!!

I have a Casio Protrek and it appears many of those features are now included here on this Mudmaster series, giving us the best of both worlds. But I have a question: On the Protrek and the Protreck Connected App (no longer supported by Casio) there is a cool feature that allows you to take pictures on your connected smartphone while logging your route and then review those images and their locations via a map showing your route. While it is clear that this Mudmaster will map your route, I can't tell whether it also includes the photo feature. Any insights on that question? Thank you in advance.
Neither of those are G-Shocks, lol. Smartwatch tech gets outdated every year, meaning that they end up being replaced a lot sooner, and they definitely don't last as long as proper watches. Yes, Garmin smartwatches have a lot of cool features, but aside from paranoia induced heart tracking, what makes them better than a smartphone?
A question about the G-Shock Bluetooth options across the range, is it necessary to use the Bluetooth element? I don't like linking things to my phone, in fact I'd like to go without a smartphone one day. Would I be wasting my money by buying this watch and not using the Bluetooth capability? I bought it but the operation is very poorly designed. It seems like primitive MS-DOS in times when we use Windows 11. The app is miserable, I hoped it would allow 100% operation, unfortunately it is not. Confusion, the days of the week can only be displayed in English, and T/M/Y cannot be selected. In all other areas the watch is top level. Hello Casio, for that much money I expect an appropriate update
I’ll take “THE KING” GXW56BB1JF or GX56BB1 over a mud master anyday, 98% of people outside of military don’t need any of the bells and whistles and the KING is based on the original square model. Just my opinion.🤷♂️🤘🧐 PS, they also come in positive display models.

Nope, I've also got the OG Mudmaster and I still prefer it over the newer Mudmasters. There's no significant upgrade, unless you count the smaller size as an improvement. The inclusion of Bluetooth is polarising, because the Mudmaster is intended to be an independent tool.
I got a GGB 100....does all the same stuff but doesn't have TS...who cares. I paid 190 for my mudmaster and app based watches don't really need MB6. Soo your basically paying 600 plus more for just TS. Don't be an idiot....get a GGB100. The battery lasts two years or more and takes less than 15min to change. Save ur money
I know but if you take a look at the settings of the previous version that could also do figure 8 calibration without solar. This one can except they've triangulated the upper left hand button which mudmaster cannot stand. The gps gravitymaster version of this is going to practically solve it. Blown away that this one can be atomic solar and triangulate the figure 8 calibration/declination. FEATURE@@StardustLegacyFighter
To test this truly tough and expensive watch, you going on a muddy dog walk. That's the same as someone buying a land rover and never going off road. Which is why this watch is pointless. Its a product selling an image your buying into rather than the small percentage of people who would actually need anything more than a basic g shock watch as that serves everything you actually need.
How is it better then the gravity master , just a couple more features and asking for 500$ more. for $700 I can get a gravity master and a Garmin instinct with cash to spare. These buttons are pretty much useless when used with gloves and the temperature will be distorted by the temperature of your wrist.
1. Gravitymaster has hybrid timekeeping, but no ABC sensor, no mud resistance and no low temperature resistance. 2. I've had no issues operating my Mudmaster's buttons using gloves, so you're talking complete nonsense and acting like these buttons are tiny. 3. You're literally meant to take off and put down the watch to measure the accurate temperature, which isn't convenient, but why would you want to know the temperature if you're on the move?

I didn't understand why Casio hadn't implemented this functionality in the Mudmaster GWG-1000 and GWG-2000.
I'm much more surprised it wasn't implemented in the GWG-2000, since that came out after the 2 watches you mentioned.

I bought the OG Mudmaster over the GWG-2000 earlier this year, it looks much more rugged and tactical, imo.

Nobody in their right mind is paying full price for this.
Size is relative, as I have no trouble wearing the larger OG Mudmaster on my 7.5-inch wrist.

You can use this watch without the phone and BT, it’s an outdoor watch, so Mudmaster designer have said they have designed it as a standalone watch.

I bought it but the operation is very poorly designed. It seems like primitive MS-DOS in times when we use Windows 11. The app is miserable, I hoped it would allow 100% operation, unfortunately it is not. Confusion, the days of the week can only be displayed in English, and T/M/Y cannot be selected. In all other areas the watch is top level. Hello Casio, for that much money I expect an appropriate update

I’ll take “THE KING” GXW56BB1JF or GX56BB1 over a mud master anyday, 98% of people outside of military don’t need any of the bells and whistles and the KING is based on the original square model. Just my opinion.🤷♂️🤘🧐

Nope, I've also got the OG Mudmaster and I still prefer it over the newer Mudmasters.
There's no significant upgrade, unless you count the smaller size as an improvement.
The inclusion of Bluetooth is polarising, because the Mudmaster is intended to be an independent tool.

I got a GGB 100....does all the same stuff but doesn't have TS...who cares. I paid 190 for my mudmaster and app based watches don't really need MB6.
Soo your basically paying 600 plus more for just TS. Don't be an idiot....get a GGB100. The battery lasts two years or more and takes less than 15min to change. Save ur money

It's been ages since they released a flagship Gravitymaster and Gulfmaster watches.
I know but if you take a look at the settings of the previous version that could also do figure 8 calibration without solar. This one can except they've triangulated the upper left hand button which mudmaster cannot stand. The gps gravitymaster version of this is going to practically solve it. Blown away that this one can be atomic solar and triangulate the figure 8 calibration/declination. FEATURE@@StardustLegacyFighter

They're all solar powered, except the non-premium models.
To test this truly tough and expensive watch, you going on a muddy dog walk. That's the same as someone buying a land rover and never going off road. Which is why this watch is pointless. Its a product selling an image your buying into rather than the small percentage of people who would actually need anything more than a basic g shock watch as that serves everything you actually need.

How is it better then the gravity master , just a couple more features and asking for 500$ more. for $700 I can get a gravity master and a Garmin instinct with cash to spare. These buttons are pretty much useless when used with gloves and the temperature will be distorted by the temperature of your wrist.
1. Gravitymaster has hybrid timekeeping, but no ABC sensor, no mud resistance and no low temperature resistance.
2. I've had no issues operating my Mudmaster's buttons using gloves, so you're talking complete nonsense and acting like these buttons are tiny.
3. You're literally meant to take off and put down the watch to measure the accurate temperature, which isn't convenient, but why would you want to know the temperature if you're on the move?
