the only real problem I would gues for this watch is the battery power, if it cant maintain power by itself for 2-3 weeks then its really hard to survive in the wild, the ABC sensors is all you really need to survive in the wild, this watch shares the same traits with the H2000, as alot of people complain regarding its battery life not being able to keep up by solar charge, I love my H1000, yes it does not have that much many feature, but man I love its battery life, unmatched, never have to charge again for more than 3years now, step tracking is enough for me to keep active, I dont need so much features if it cant keep up its battery after a month in thd wild
Very awesome watch, my 8 years old Rangeman GW 9400 still works very fine and awesome and its battery has never gone low through this years and adventures. Can't wait to have my hands on this new GPR H1000!
SOFTWARE UPDATE: Just an FYI that the GPR-H1000 received an update, which enables much faster satellite connection. Massive practical improvement. I'm so impressed with this piece, and it's usability now. IMHO, it's an issue that should've been addressed before release in that I believe damage was done to the reputation of both Casio and the Gshock/ Rangeman name. That said, this watch is now a complete workhorse for me. I love it.
@@yourroofspecialist8385 There are some on the market that can do 40 days to unlimited time with no charging if youre out in the sun though. Like Garmin instinct 2/X solar.
Smart watches also use solar power. I love my smart watch I've had it for 2 years and I have not had to charge it. Now the Apple watches yes you have to charge the damn thing like everyday but my two Gshock watches work great with not having to charge! @@yourroofspecialist8385
The efficiency of the low power , means the battery has Super lifespan . And can last for 2 years , while Iwatch will need recharge within 24 hrs .. lol it even has solar recharge…. This is indeed a ranger specialist watch .
We need a true successor to the GPR-B1000. Don't need any fitness stuff. Just a classic ABC watch with Sun/Moon data + GPS. All I need is a tool for outdoor use. That's a Real Rangeman. This is a Rangeman wannabe.
@@pparmar40 True that. As a matter of fact, the GBD-H2000 also comes with a moon phase. Truth be told, this Rangeman doesn't make any sense at all. Alternatively, the could at least release a Pro Trek successor to the GPR-B1000 Rangeman.

GPS don't offer navigation on watch tho? Without phone it's not usable? So more smartwatch than rangeman unfortunately
The main reason I can’t do smart watches is the fact they need to be charged. Using a smart watch is almost like depending your phone.

And that’s why I got the Garmin Fenix 7 pro. Slightly more pricey but does everything and more than the Gshock

No standalone navigation and a dreadfully inaccurate HR sensor. Kind of seems a bit of a pointless (and expensive) upgrade
I’m a G-Shock fan boy. But this is not a Rangeman for me..
The watch is great but you need to update it. Navigation should be essential in a Rangeman.
Why did Casio quietly axed the GPR-B series Rangeman?!? They are exceptional, can run on solar indefinite and tough as nails. I have one, I know
