Diana Prince lives quietly among mortals in the vibrant, sleek 1980s -- an era of excess driven by the pursuit of having it all. Though she's come into her full powers, she maintains a low profile by curating ancient artifacts, and only performing heroic acts incognito. This is what pisses me off. Cheetah is Wonder Woman's *BIGGEST* nemesis. And they reduced her to a sidekick and gave us a three minute fight scene. Hopefully she comes back in the future (with hopefully better CGI).
@Joshua 1992 not if he has the gauntlet and she’s in the Marvel Universe with only the DCEU Wonder Woman cause even with an incomplete gauntlet and reducing thanos to his MCU power level the guy can still fragment and throw a moon.
they left her in her cheetah form at the end of the film iirc so fingers crossed. and you're right. you know this movie is tapped when the (supposedly) side-villain did a better job on intimidation than the main one
Hopefully she doesn't. A character who is slightly less powerful than Superman shouldn't have that much trouble with Cheetah. WW needs a better villain. A much more powerful one. They should stick to Greek mythology and find her one.

I wish I could have seen my face when I saw this fight scene for the first time. I was so f******** confused. I was expecting a big epic fight, but I got a Power Ranger and a Jelical Cat dancing together with wires during the worst fake night ever. 😂🤭

That's way more action than every action scene from The Batman combined. That movie SUCKED. WW84 remembered to be a motion picture first, and a comic schlock second. Not just the latter.

They said they weren't going to make the same mistake with the CGI as the other company did with CATS and they did exactly that.

Cheetahs are known for those distinctive marks, and there's even a legend about it
Long ago, a mother cheetah lost her baby, and she cried for so long that from then on all cheetahs had those same black trailing marks, representing the mother cheetah's tears of grief
@Joshua 1992 I think Cheetah could put up a good fight against Supergirl. Cheetah's powers, by nature, are magical and magic is one of the weaknesses of Superman (besides kryptonite and red sun radiation), so Supergirl would be vulnerable to it too
Not to mention, Cheetah often finds on par with Wonder Woman, who is far more experienced and skilled than Supergirl
Sure, Supergirl is stronger but strength doesn't always overcome superior skill, experience, strategy, tactics, and Cheetah's animalistic nature makes her more unpredictable

This is a Master Class on how not to choreograph a superhero fight scene. Bad CGI, dumb tactics, dim lighting making everything hard to distinguish and a terrible conclusion (why is Cheetah still breathing?). Who cut this together and thought it was any decent?
Dim lighting = probably to hide some imperfections..
What confuses me is that if Cheetah has Wonder Woman's powers, how come she didn't receive Diana's immunity to lightning?
She never had all of Diana's powers, what she got during her first wish was the powers of the Amazons, her 2nd wish undid that and granted her cheetah's abilities instead.
What confuses me is she basically gets her powers from making a wish when in the comics she drinks a potion that's why I said the plot was stupid
That gold outfit… everyone knew this was gonna suck.
I really wanted to see Diana get gritty and do some hand to hand fighting with Cheetah’s strength/claws.
I respect Wonder Woman cause, yes she has heart, but she handles business with a fight when she needs to!

On top of everything else, whoever choreographed this scene has no idea how electricity works. It doesn't spray out of the ends of severed wires like water or hydraulic fluid from a severed hose.

No, they got the electrical simulation pretty accurate. During hurricane Sandy, a live power line came down on my neighbors from yard and this movie got really close to what it looks like.

I dont hate this movie as much as everyone else but I think it just suffered from trying to do too much. The build up with the girls was there. The way they both became friends, the parallels of the both of them entering that party... the movie should have solely focused on Diana and Cheetah almost like a female Batman and Robin that was doomed to fail. The movie pushed their story, the story, aside for too much NOTHING.

the first time I watched this movie in 2020 I didn't like it but yesterday I watched it for the 2nd time in January 2023 and I don't know why I loved it maybe I became more mature and I I understood the meaning of this film.
I think what helped the first movie was zack snyder making the movie more grounded to help flesh out the characters and tone

I had high hopes for this movie, but from the opening scene, those evaporated pretty quickly. Patty Jenkins really got it all wrong. Some say it was a bad film, but even worse for me is that it's utterly forgettable. What a shame.

Cheetah really felt shoehorned into a movie that already had several issues before this battle and a screenplay that was clearly rushed into production.

Beyond the obvious flaws within this movie and villain, Cheetah’s movements and fighting style feel off. Visually, she comes off a fluid but “floaty” instead of fast, intense and powerful. To me, she comes across as less of a threat because beyond a few growls post full transformation there are no cues, visually or auditory, to her power. The film relies too much on Kristen Wiig’s acting skills to elevate a mediocre written depiction of a fascinating character.
Her name is Cheetah so she should literally be faster than Wonder Woman...that being said, I think they portrayed it pretty well when she was hitting WW's wings and ripping the gold feathers off toward the beginning/middle.

I always felt that WW84 should have had Maxwell Lord as the main villain with the dream stone and Cheetah who is the biggest Wonder Woman enemy ever should have been saved for the third movie, to have two villains in the same movie just felt slightly overcrowded and was giving me Amazing Spider-Man 2 vibes but not in a good way. It was still pretty cool to see Wonder Woman and Cheetah go at it in live action for the first time ever but the execution could have been a lot better

Next time the writers need to dig into deeper into Greek mythology to give Diana an opponent more on par with her power levels. WW can fight Superman. She wouldn't win but she's powerful enough to go at him. She should NOT be having this much trouble with Cheetah. Superhero movies always hinge on how good the villain is - so don't get me started on Pedro Pascal's character. Worst villain ever. And a waste of acting talent - all around actually. After enjoying the first movie thoroughly, I expected something even better for the sequel. Very disappointing.
