Cheetah is symbolism for women who refuse to leave abusive relationships because of the power that may come with that relationship. Greed is Cheetah’s sin

That is the part of yourself that you need to learn to embrace. That is where your inner strength and confidence live.

I think it tugs at the heart strings more. We, as the viewers, like both characters and don't want to see them as enemies. However, Kristen has been neglected a lot in her life, so her new power gives her an intoxicating freedom she can't resists abusing. Also, she admired Diana so much. Not just her strength and beauty, but her kind heart also. When she gained these new powers, her strength and beauty (really, just her confidence, her beauty was always there, but she didn't see it in herself), her selfishness took over. So, even with her new glory, she is still not as great as Diana. Kristen's character's self loathing is the cause of all her problems.
Because when some people get a taste of power, they crave more, it’s an addiction. And gradually that causes them to lose part of themselves, the part that people loved & respected.
