- In the ever-evolving landscape of the U.S. automotive market, one might assume that crossovers and sedans reign supreme. However, a closer look reveals that minivans, especially luxury minivans, still play a significant role in meeting the diverse needs of American families. With the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Limited Hybrid leading the charge, we're witnessing a resurgence in the popularity of these versatile vehicles. Here are the top contenders vying for your hard-earned dollar in the luxury minivan market.
For the first time in quite a while, American consumers are crossing the traditional boundaries between minivans and crossovers. The reason behind this shift is the growing popularity of luxury minivans. Unlike the minivans of the past, modern luxury minivans offer a superior level of comfort, style, and performance. The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Limited Hybrid stands at the forefront of this resurgence, currently leading the pack in overall minivan sales in the United States. Luxury minivan manufacturers are taking it a step further by introducing more fuel-efficient hybrid variants. Chrysler's Pacifica Limited, for example, comes as a plug-in hybrid and boasts an impressive all-electric driving range of up to 32 miles.
2024 Chrysler Pacifica Limited Hybrid: The reigning champion in the luxury minivan segment, the Pacifica offers a blend of style, comfort, and eco-friendliness. With its plug-in hybrid technology and a starting price just over $38,000, it's a compelling choice for families seeking both efficiency and sophistication.

There are 8 cup holders (one in each door at bottom, in the rear by back seats on upper wall, and in the center console) and there is so much versatility with this minivan. I love mine! I shopped a long time and could not be happier with my choice to own a Pacifica. My household had 2 and when I look at adding a vehicle I will definitely look at another Pacifica, and I plan on keeping what I have I love it so much! Smooth ride, nice plush comfy seats, lots of leg and trunk room, and it takes hardly any effort to move seats into floors and out again to make a passenger van a cargo van then back again ready for people. I use mine to tow trailers, haul kids, do big box store large shopping hauls, and for when people need to use it to move their furniture. My 4 or 5 kids, myself, and 2 dogs (including a large dog and an xl great dane, and our luggage have taken long but comfortable road trips in the Pacifica. I have owned luxury cars, SUV's, and crossovers and this is my favorite vehicle! I also love that it is very safe because of the awards it has repeatedly gotten for safety.
You have 2 cupholders near the footwell under the center console for the second row seats - You need to pull it out from under the center console on the back side. Most minivans dont have cupholders on the doors themselves due to the sliding door mechanism!
100%, he totally missed those cup holders. But I agree that it would be nicer to have some higher
I own a 2021 Pacifica Hybrid and it's a very comfortable and practical vehicle with great tech. Unless you're planning on towing or going off-road - and you don't have a stupid hang-up about minivans - it's simply a better choice than an SUV. There's so much more room and it handles far better than most SUVs. About 75% of my driving is electric - I can go for weeks without getting gas. But if you want to take a long trip, you don't have to worry about charging - I get around 32 mpg in combined driving just on the hybrid/gas engine. It's thus also a better choice for most people than an EV. And it's one of just a handful of vehicles that still get the full $7500 EV credit.
The only problem, unfortunately, is that it's a Chrysler product, so reliability and durability are always on the mind. I've been lucky - 45k miles so far without any major issues - just one small software recall/update. I also changed out the shitty OE tires for something nicer. But I've read horror stories from other owners and feel like I'm taking a risk keeping it out of warranty. I'm going to try to get to 60k miles when the drivetrain/hybrid warranty is up and either try something else or trade for a new Pacifica.
Could you update us if it gives any problems?
Are they still having major quality issues with these? Not just the hybrid pulling their ratings down anymore?
I like the style and the driving, but my wife had a mostly trouble free Honda for 250k miles and not that we expect that, but sure don't want something in the shop frequently.
I am on the verge of buying a new car. My last one was a Ford Flex which I drove for 255,000 miles. I'm 59 and am thinking I should downsize to a smaller car (e.g. Corolla). I've seen a few of the Chrysler Pacificas on the road and they look good. After watching your video I am rethinking my decision. Great video !!
Thanks for the video!I'm not seeing a Limited Trim in the 2024 Hybrid line up.
There are more cup holders for the second row than you realize. At the bottom of the center console, there is a pullout storage drawer with two cup holders at the front of it.
Just got this as a rental in Tampa. Very surprised how well equipped this mini van is.
Mini would be huge in Europe. Funny how it's called mini..😂
This doesn’t look like a 2024 model! Can you confirm what year it is?? Looks more like a 23.
Yeah that’s how real people use lane departure button…
What does a replacement hybrid battery cost?
doesn't matter. They aren't available. ;)
Seriously, there were people that needed an immediate warranty replacement that were told it would be more than year. (and was)
Scared me off.
Ceramic gray not available in 2024
Those seats look way too laid back and look uncomfortable after awhile.
I have the Pacifica and I can confidently say after long cross country trips with kids it is a very comfortable ride in the seats for all. They are very plush and cushy so you do not feel sore or tired like you would think.
30 miles range… lol has not changed in 10 + years with any of plug in hybrids.
Prius Prime has more range.
@@callistoscali4344 Prius Prime is not a 5000 lb minivan.
I agree it would have been nicer to extend the range to 50 to 60 but that would require a MUCH larger battery, it's already 5000 lbs!
I hate the idea of having to plug in any vehicle. It’s a definite loser for me.
are they sitting at the top of the top of Minivan race? I don't think so
Yes of course. They invented it
@@paulbramwell3362I want what you’re smoking. They are the literally least reliable vehicle in America right now. Sienna and Odyssey literally wipe the floor with it. There are dealers taking $10-20k to get it out the door 😂
@@felixs1340 Please point me to that deal !!
@@jamesdietz1907 everywhere, plus it’s 0% APR right now on new 2023s
We actually love our 2021 Pacifica after 61k miles.
Toyotas was better
We were wanting a new one to replace our 2010 Sienna but you CANNOT GET THEM in a timely manner. We were under the gun for a new minivan but I'm glad we "fell" into the PacHy.
