Very good, very informative video, Michael. I am now driving my 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport 3 for 8 months (since Mar. 2024) and I absolutely am in love with this vehicle. Before this, I drove 2 Tesla S vehicles for 6 years (3 each) and as much as I loved the S -- my Lyriq Sport 3 is the kind of luxury AND technology we deserve. Hands down more enjoyable than my 2017 and 2021 Tesla S cars. The Teslas are just SO spartan on the interior. THIS Lyriq looks and feels like a luxury car. A Cadillac! Your video has removed some of the Charge anxiety. I live in Malibu and have my own Level 2 Chargepoint charger at home -- but I have yet to take a long road trip. Today, I just picked up my GM NACS adapter, so I can use Tesla chargers -- but I am just starting my education. The biggest thing seems to be there are only certain Tesla Superchargers you can use (Version 3 and 4?) so I need to research this a little more. Anyway, nuff said, thanks for your informative, enjoyable video.

Here's why I wouldn't want a fully electric vehicle. When I'm on a road trip I don't want my stops to charge to take 40 minutes to get to 100%. I like stopping for gas, go to the restroom & grab a snack in under 20 minutes or less. Imagine there being a lot more vehicles on the road & having to wait for a spot at the charging station if it takes 40 minutes for one vehicle to charge. Also I live in Texas........Texas can't keep its power grid up with just a few EVs on the road. I can only imagine if all car manufacturers went fully electric. I'll stick with my gas powered vehicle.

If the Chinese auto manufacturers just steal the indo-China region from western automotive groups then for them it will be a bloodbath since they got this big thanks to the Chinese market rapid growth.Now without it many are bound to get smaller or simply bankrupt (the Germans are extremely exposed to that market worse to their Russian gas exposure). But with time and some good fiscal regulation many production factories are going back from China with the new jobs possibly covering the the eventual layoff from the initial crisis(many already started as the political pressure has grown in the g7 countries).

Buy used. I'll never buy new again, it's not worth it. Most pickup trucks have waaaay to many electronic gadgets that are no use and drive the cost 30k too much. Nor will iEVER buy an EV. Never never never never never never never.

Did you ever do a follow-up on the high cost of charging in TN vs. the lower cost in GA???? Why was the TN charge so expensive?? Even more than when I gas up my Expedition when it is on empty.

Extremely disappointed if this is fact a 2025 model, without an NACS adapter. Just removed my name from the list for the same reason you dealt with. Jockeying chargers. Infrastructure does suck, without an NACS adapter.

Anyone who knocks on the V6 ecoboost of the Lincoln has never driven one.... it's more powerful and more efficient than non-boosted engines. If not, why are all the other manufacturers copying Ford and Lincoln by doing the same thing to their vehicles?

All that, and they didn't address that big ass gap between the top of the doors and the roof! And, you could never compare yourself to Cadillac or any other luxury SUV until you put a V8 in iit. This flat top steering wheel phase everyone is in is asinine. To turn the freaking car you have to spin the wheel in a circle. A flat top makes no sense.

It was all gravy til they got to the engine. Trying to make up for their lack of progress in powertrains with “rejuvenating” interior tech. Beautiful design. Looks like something Volvo would make if they ever entered the full size SUV space. But needs more powertrain options, including hybrids.

I would love to have an EV, once they are improved. With my travels taking me from Lancaster Pennsylvania to Jacksonville Florida, Johnson city Tennessee, Dallas Texas, Kansas city Missouri, Chicago Illinois, I need an EV that is not only a large full size luxury automobile which Tesla doesn't even make but one that delivers atleast a 10 min charging time for a range of atleast 500 miles. This new Cadillac delivers a range of 314 miles after charging for hours. For as far as I travel, I'll keep my Jaguar XJL. 3 minutes of downtime for a range of 570 miles, paid off at 41K and a large full size luxury automobile. The Cadillac Lyric will cost you even more because, it's a Cadillac. Atleast with the Lyric, you have a dashboard with style and class and not the 2 by 4 look with a screen in the middle like Tesla provides. Come out with a Cadillac Lyric that offers 10 minutes of charging and for a range of atleast 500 miles. Till then, I'll take the gas. Money I have, time I don't. Improve the EV and I'm all in otherwise, I think I'll simply leave more than well enough alone. .....

I love this car, I really do. It's the only GM EV I can stand. But it is slow and laggy. It drives like an ICE vehicle, which is good in some ways, but it feels like a GM 8 speed transmission is attached to it. I'm not sure how they managed that. EV's have a lot of downsides like long charge times. Don't take away the good things about EV's, General Motors.

That interior is horrible. Looks like you are sitting at the kitchen table. The secondary screen is so low that is going to get someone killed trying to use that thing. Also its just plain boring inside. The QX80 and Escalade have much better looking interior.
