@@coin777 Oh I'm sure they've already been working on one... I mean, have you actually ever really played with a GH6? That thing has a dual gain sensor (not dual ISO) like an Arri Alexa. In fact, a cinema camera is just a camera optimized for team work. It has SDI 12G ports for monitors for the Camera assistants, for the director and the script. It has XLR for documentary uses, it has RAW internally, V-MOUNT batteries, ND and an EVF ! The EVF is very important for shoulder rig uses ! So if you need a cinema camera, it is a totally different work flow. But if you need an FX3 style camera, the S5IIX is already this style because it has even more features for video than the FX3.

But, if they can come up a Panasonic version of the Komodo X or PYXIS, or even a C70 like camera with internal NDs, I would definitely be interested. I've owned the Panasonic BGH1 and loved it despite the quirks. The BGH1 is probably the cinema camera you want because of the price. Next one up is the BS1H. Then AU-EVA1, which has been out forever. Then the VariCams.

There is a huge difference between the BGH1 and the Pyxis. The BGH1 has no buttons and is designed for remote control in a multi cam environment or it has to be rigged up and be controlled with a touch screen. The Pyxis has lots of buttons that are preferable for cameras that are operated manually.

Panasonic has already a cinema camera. They have merged both divisions, but we don't know what does exactly that mean (just cutting costs or really joining capabilities). We know that consumer cameras have been replaced by mobile phones, so it makes sense to move to the professional market (even though it is far smaller). In conclusion, I don't know if these are good or bad news. We will see that is the future roadmap for Lumix cameras. Cheers!

There is so much gear hysteria noise and I get hit by it myself. There are definitely some super cool things about the BlackMagic Pyxis 6K if you only need to film. But I have owned both a BlackMagic and a Canon to take pictures with and realized that I am more into a good hybrid solution. Because I already have a lot of EF glass, I chose the Canon R5C. With this setup, I can switch between photo mode and film with a simple button. Therefore, I do not need to buy into a new solution. We are spoiled for choice when it comes to equipment these days. We can do the most with what we have and achieve top class if we prepare well beforehand. Thanks for your thoughts and sharing.

Indeed. Panasonic and L-Mount more and more turn out to be a great boat to be in. btw: i was wondering if the Freefly Systems thought about joining since sony did not allow them to further use E-Mount...
my GH6 and S5 (OG) showed me, that i prefer Hybrid for Travel but dedicated Video Cams for "real" Video shots
My Multicam-Setup is mostly BlackMagic, with a JVC LS300 as a backup
it's a hustle to add the lumix cameras into the mix (e.G.) HDMI-delay...
    My Dream Setup would be:
    - FF EVA 2
    - M43 EVA mini
    - BGH2 (to add for Multicam... with a display preferably)
    - S5Rii (or a new rangefinder highRes model) and the G9ii for Photos, Travel, Handheld B-Roll and Backup
the potential is exciting for sure

I dont typically comment often but...
    1. Rear VND patent for Lumix
    2. Better app contorl
If Lumix added these two things to a camera that kept all the capabilities of the S52X, put it in a box body, put it at £2,999 and its basically dominating everything within 4k more expensive cameras

Especially skintones black skintones need to be fix on lumix series. The render is more yellow don't match to the reality. Thats is why Sony won the market. Uh no we don’t need an fx3. That’s exactly what the S5-IIx is. It’s Panasonic’s version of the 3.
What we really need is a FX6. Something with internal NDs, SDI outs, and an Ethernet for video over NDI and maybe something like a gold mount out back. No view finder or screen.

To save the L-Mount they need a cinema line. I have been feeling this way for a while. The EVA-1 was there first stab at starting a cinema line. Much like Sony FS5 was the precursor to the Sony Cinema Line. They just needed to fix that autofocus. I genuinely do not understand the hype behind box cams. Especially by TH-camrs. Ngl it feels so fake. The blackmagic box cam doesn't do anything the pocket camera can't do for 99.99% of use cases. It costs 3k with the same limitations, while hybrid cameras offer so much more and still have greater dynamic range. And the rare features like 48v XLR jack just makes no sense given anything that'd need a XLR setup can be incredibly easily done externally. Both for streaming and recording.

Lumix need 2 more bodies: a smaller A7C sized body, and a FX3 competitor. We can let BMD have the box- cause cinema is all that they do.

Yes. Both LUMIX box cameras are a good concept but poorly executed. I totally agree with a cinema line: the GH line was considered a cinema camera in the American Cinematographer Manual. Hybrid cameras started this but it’s time to draw the line. I wrote to LUMIX like one month ago addressing some of the points mentioned. Now I’m feeling a sense of community.

Allthough i make money with my gh5 doing lots of video , i dont want a cinema camera. I bought a lmix because it is a hybrid camera. I do photos and video. I want my camera doing this. They hybrid thing is what we lumix people love panasonic for. If we wanted a cinema camera we would own one already. I dont want a camera that can do less for more money.

I need some not sony, not canon company to give me:
    6k open gate
    4k 120 UNCROPPED
    low rolling shutter
    14+ stops of DR
    in a box cam
    SDI
    2 XLR
    3 card slots
    w/ SSD ability
    (prefer vlog or Black magic)
    SURE ADD AF
    but we DONT NEED IT
    w/ DJI focus pro.
WITH EITHER internal ND or panasonic's IBIS.
I UNDERSTAND that we cannot have both. but damn it, give us one of those.
    thoughts?

You can have both, as this camera wouldn't have a shutter. Burano has both with E-mount, and E-mount is shorter than L-mount.

Panasonic really already has cinema camera. Maybe you just want a new version. But to be honest, if they did it, most would be able to afford it. The FX3 is a consumer camera, it is not a professional cinema camera. Seems you are looking for a different body style. List your specs, then it might make sense. This was a ramble about nothing honestly.

Lumix need to fix a major issue on their camera color science for black skintones.
The Lumix camera hasn't the same color that the varicam. If you just compare s1h and eva1 you will see a massive difference on color accuracy. Especially skintones black skintones need to be fix on lumix series. The render is more yellow don't match to the reality. Thats is why Sony won the market. Sony camera is now more used to black country than Canon.
If you compare the Venice and fx3 the couloir difference isn't not visible. But the varicam compared to lumix would surprise you.

What you're proposing here makes 100%, unequivocal, logical, smart consumer sense. Loose the whole hybrid thing. Honestly... how many "photographers" choose m4/3 or S series for their professional photographic or hobby needs?! Uhhh....I'll tell ya....None. It's all primarily Canon and Nikon... and for good reason. Free up the body from its seldom used "hybrid necessities" and fill that space with cinema feature extensions and capabilities. I've shot with and owned Lumix cameras since the GH2 all the way to the GH6. For crying out loud, the combined shutter count of all 5 of my GH cameras...is like..... 23

This is a terrible idea. What makes Lumix the best is they don't need to worry about monopolizing their upper line like Sony and Canon does, so they give us everything they don't need to worry about hurting more expensive camera sales. Reason #2 this would be bad is because Panasonic isn't exactly winning right now. They need to focus on the current road amazing cameras that are hybrid. You are dreaming we do not need a cinema camera from them. Remember the BGH1? Yeah not a lot of people do.
