The hybrid autofocus feature and recording options in 4K and 6K are also major advantages. This camera perfectly meets the demands of professional videographers. Kudos to Panasonic!

I had the GH7 for a month and while i love it, i do encounter a bug-- When the camera is set to record ArriLogC, using view assist, if the LUT for view assist is NOT the default LogC-709, it seems to yield strange effect? I was trying to use a +1-Exp lut to help ETLR but this bug has made that hard. It works as expected in Realtime LUT, but not when you try to shoot LogC. Even with the latest v1.2 firmware this problem persist. Did you experience the same thing?
from reading the specs it seems that for ultimate recording quality a Blackmagic video assist will capture the full height of the sensor in 30 fps [5.8K] 5760x4320 (4:3) and [5.7K] 5728x3024 (17:9) up to 60 fps in 12 bit color. it seems like the internal raw is mostly for situations where you don't have the space to add an external recorder but otherwise its preferable if you go for that raw quality.

What is the resolution you'd choose for social media - best middle ground between file sizes and potential for grading/editing? I usually shoot 4K or C4K 10bit 422 and one of the lowest mbps and export it in FHD
And I am using aperture priority so shutter speed changes between 1/60s - 1/10000s. Video is always sharp and motion is perfect. Shooting video is not always film making or cinematic story telling.
I shoot 5.8 K 4:3 opengate apple pro res raw HQ 12 bit on my atomos ninja v plus in rec 709 on my Gh6. Autofocus off. Manual focus only for my cinema work.

I just bought gh7 and i am stunned that it has 67 video modes but NO real 4k50 in 4.3 open gate.. even my gh5 had 4k open gate 50 even tough it was 8bit. Gh7 only has 4.4 k 50 pixel to pixel which means this mode does NOT use all of the sensor and quality is diminished. I hope a firmware fixes this becaus 4k50 open gate was my favorite in gh5 so by now gh7 cant do what my gh5 could do…
Agreed it's a shame there are no 50 or 60FPS Full Sensor modes. However the GH5 had about 20% less resolution than the GH7. 20MP VS. 25MP. Also unless you have an 8K television, you won't see a difference anyway. It is nice to have more resolution for editing in post though. I get that if you're serious about video.

Gh6 has better video quality and I shoot in P mode. Vlog is still great for cinema.
