Good video with amazing research to back it up…You can consider another point… the forex rate will differ by the network. A 2% markup in diners will be almost similar to a 3% markup in mastercard
One card is best as it just comes with an FD and nowadays offering Zero forex markup charges 🤩, While thise could afford luxury and wanna travel with business class then indusind club vistara at annual fee of Rs 10 k is equally good as otherwise the business ticket would cost you around 40 k to 50 k. I hope it helps 🤩
One Suggestion - your reviews are good. But if you include comparison, features on a slide and voice in background - it would be very helpful for assessment of viewers
Best is the American Express platinum charge card. It gives 3X reward points on all international spends, The points if used right, will more than cover any mark up fee paid.
With Amex Platinum, forex markup is 4.13% including GST. After reducing the forex markup, most people would not be able to extract a very good value. Assuming a value of 60 paisa per MR point, then also you would just barely cover the forex markup. Have to meticulously plan to get best value. Therefore, we excluded Platinum charge from the list.
@@CardAcademyAmex points never expire. You have options like transfer to Marriott Bonvoy where one can get very good value. There is no need to hurry as points remain valid forever. The card should have been mentioned in the video, at least viewers would be informed of the option.
Agree with you on the Marriott Bonvoy bit and the fact that rewards never expire. But again we felt that given the fee and the fact that getting a good return on forex is complex, therefore, we decided to keep this card out of this list.
There is another benefit of using Amex abroad, and that is peace of mind. You can’t put a value to this. In case of any dispute, the way the Amex guys help you is unmatched. In fact, I never like talking to any customer care in India except that of Amex. They speak so clearly, and go out of the way to help the customer.
Hello, Generally, I travel lot of countries and do a international business and my transaction about 5 lakh plus some time 8 to 20 lakh so which card is best with limited annual fees and zero forex markup fee so which card is prefer? I know you have question might be, which card I use currently well currently I use RBC bank mastercard which is completely free but now I want to take a credit card from india so can you suggest me please. Thank you for your attention.
glad someone mentioned this card. Sbi cashback charges 4.13 percentage as forex markup and in return gives upfront 5% if your expense is not from the excluded categories like fuel insurance education utilities etc I have tried spending myself and got 0.87 percentage return like this.
Behenji. You have not even mentioned the best forex card available out there that too life time free. 1% mark up with same day full currency vakue conversion. Plus the 1% cashback with 5x rewards. No paid card can beat it in a standalone comparison.
Can you suggest best cash back credit card (no sbi & HDFC milenga) & no cobranded Also (& International long access 2 anul life time free like hsbc platinum)

@@CardAcademyNiyo is not a secured card. The picture that u shown is of Niyo Global "debit" card which used to have 0 forex markup. But last year RBI imposed ban on 0 markup and many tourists got stranded at international locations due to this sudden ban. Now that Niyo card is no more acceptable in overseas locations. To counter the problem, Niyo introduced an FD-based secured credit card which has 0 markup (same like IDFC Wow CC). I have both Niyo Global DC as well as Niyo Global CC. Reaped the ultimate benefits of DC in Vietnam efficiently (before it was banned) and recently used CC in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Egypt without any issue. The only drawback of CC is that ATM transactions become too costly. So use it only for POS or online foreign currency transactions.

How about SBI Cashback card for online Forex transactions?
Not good. 4.13% will go in Forex markup. 3.5% + 18% GST on the 3.5% will be 4.13% in total.
Agree with @lonelykaraokist

@jaythakkar5909 But this is only in the case of online spends (excluding a long list of spends). Offline spends will give you negative return.
@@lonelykaraokist This is just partially correct.
