    Qs 1 - Will I be able to use this card for payments and ATM withdrawals in a country like Kazakhstan, which is not on the list of 14 countries?
    Qs 2 - Will I be able to withdraw amount in local currency like Kazakhstan tenge from the ATM?

    • @bankexpert
      @bankexpert  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Q1. You can use the card for POS transactions & ATM withdrawals. But you need to add currency in USD. When you spend in local currency, BookMyForex charges 3.5% cross-currency fees.
      Q2. For ATM withdrawals, you must pay 3.5% in cross-currency fees + ATM withdrawal fees.
      I suggest you use Niyo cards to avoid cross-currency fees, & the card comes with zero forex markup fees.

      Bookmyforex doesn't support Malaysian ringgit. I’ve contacted them, and they stated they do not support. They work the same way as your domestic debit card in Malaysia, with charges. I’d finally decided to go for the Neo Global DCB debit card. I didn't even carry any currency with me while leaving for Malaysia. I loaded all my INRs into Neo Global. I was surprised to see how wide its accessibility was in Malaysia. If you're planning for Langkawi, it's up to you to decide if you want the cash exchange or ATM withdrawal because in some places, especially the local food, it doesn't accept cards on the island. Neo had charged me 425₹ for each withdrawal. But overall, the card was of great use, especially its interface and customer support. Sending the amount back to the domestic account was hassle-free and done in a few minutes. I too struggled a lot to decide the card over the cash before leaving, but somehow I did some research and didn't carry any cash instead went with the card. One of the best things I liked about this card was that for the online transactions, it shared the OTPs with your email as well. It is to be noted that they will block some amount in case you withdraw any cash. I withdrew three times, and they blocked 1k, and they deducted it as a charge a month later. I hope this helps!

    • @bankexpert
      @bankexpert  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The similarity between the Niyo SBM, DCB, and Equitas bank debit cards is that these cards come with zero forex markup fees, international airport lounge access, and real-time currency conversion. and it's a zero-balance savings bank account. Add money in INR and spend it in 130+ currencies in 180+ countries.
      On a BookMyForex card, you have to load up to 38 currencies. It's a pure forex card. But Niyo cards are 2 in 1; you can use them in India as a normal debit card and internationally as a forex card.
      If you are a student, then always carry two forex cards with you. One is a Niyo debit card, and the other one is BookMyForex or any other bank forex card.
