Nice work! Wouldn't it be easier to paint the surface before setting the pennies and skip the grout? That would require more epoxy, of course. And if you stuck the pennies on the wet paint as you go, maybe you could skip the gluing? Asking for a lazy friend.
I don’t think it would look as good. Lots of potential for little bubbles to settle between the coins, and the grouting process partially cleans the coins and highlights all the edges. The coins themselves look better after grouting than before
@@thephatchicken2177 about 2-3mm. Because I grouted the coins, there was no need for resin to Flow between them, so there is only a thin layer ontop. Some advice I learnt making this table - mix your resin very very well. You really need to spend some time mixing and making sure you've scraped the bottom and sides. The table in this video ended up having patches of uncured sticky resin. To fix it, I poured another thin layer over the top. It came out fine but I needed to mix it more, abs that's the number one lesson I learned from this project
Nice 👍 but good idea 👍👍
I loves it a lot
not enough DIY videos without a voice over on youtube. this was so satisfying to watch... apart from the terrible library music ;)
Dave Taylor I get moaned at for talking too much on my other videos 🤣
Knowing Pete this was all done in the middle of the night :D
Beautiful, can you tell me how much resin you used please?
If was 2-3kg I think
Hey there, question for you Pete. Did you end up upsizing the chimney on your pizza oven build? Looking at welding a couple up while im on furlough.
У меня есть "немного" советских рублей "с Лениным", но на стол не хватает, если только на журнальную тумбочку.. )))))
Cool 😎
