The 2014 has two transmissions available depending on model...6 vs 8 speed. I've heard elsewhere that some tuners can brick your PCM when trying to adjust shift points. Does Superchips address this issue with this tuner?

This flashpaq messed up my truck... I’m in the middle of it right now... it doesn’t crank now! Called the company and I have to take off the pcm and send it to them for them to flash it and they send it back... if you owe a 2014 Dodge Ram I Would NOT buy this!!! The tech told me this happens a lot with these models.. they should let a brother know... I’ll be without a truck for a couple of days... Just wanted to give a heads up
the only time that has ever happened to me, i didn't turn off the interior lights, radio ac etc... all you had to do was try it again. that shit flashed right away the 2nd time after everything was turned off

It will automatically adjust the shift points to the setting you add say, 93 octane it will automatically adjust the shift points Ans AT pressure, you can adjust it if you want to go into the settings as well.

Does this turner allow you to program your fog lights and high beams to run at the same time ??Also does it allow you to turn off your speed limiter and change shift points???
you can tune the shift points. Trans shifting is tightened up with the stock tune. Not bad but definitely shifts a bit hard but definitely a bit quicker. Transgo shift kit combined with the trans tuning for the 65RFE and you have a trans that shifts as fast as a 8HP70.
yeah I bought this exact model for the exact same year and model of truck under there recommendations....I did the update to the tuner upon opening with the correct update and proceeded to install. Followed the prompts and Blam!!! shit went south, tuner went into recovery mode and began resetting itself and entering recovery mode , then i got the message " Unable to read file from SD card" So i contacted Superchips and i have to remove my ECM and ship it to Florida along with the tuner and have them reflash the ECM. So a couple weeks will go by before i can use my vehicle IF all this works? Superchips has Great Customer Service but its a hassle and a huge Pain in the Ass . I have read that some guys are getting there ECM's back and its still a problem. So guys, even if someone recommends something as being all that Great!! Just Maybe it Ain't.

I have it on my 2014 Ram 5.7 and yes it can disable it, you can set it on or off, and I am running a 93 octane Tune, and I just moved into an area where I only find 91 octane and nothing affected to my truck you should be fine.
@@brokensmile8487 yes, a performance Cam tune would be the best if you want power! Just having to get the Tune, and having the work to install the Cam, and all is $$$ but if that’s the route to go for power wise yes! I say go for it , a custom Tune will always beat a Can Pre loaded tune.

does the Stock setting show up somewhere if you want to re-load the Stock tune ? also is it possible to backup the stock tune to a computer or something, it seems important...
When you load a tune off of the FlashPaq, it stores your stock tune so you can always reload it. Also, if you plan on taking it to a dealer for service, I'd recommend putting the stock tune back on the truck. If they flash it for whatever reason you'll lose the tune and then you'll have nothing other than an expensive code reader.

I got it for my 2014 Sport 4x4 with 35x12.5x20. I got this after checking the forums as I didn't like how it was driving. I loaded the 35" calibration and took it for a spin. I'm running the 87 octane tune and it definitely changed how the truck shifts. A lot smoother, almost no lag and just feels better. I'm getting 14.7mpg...up from the 13.2 I was accustomed to (city/highway). Definitely worth it to me.

It was cheap and the truck drives like a race car now, and getting the same awful mileage. at least I have power now- i dont know what dodge did on the EPA coding but it is RETARDED! I still have to add my 2nd o2 bank. the programmer looked like it added a little bit of economy but the power was still a complete joke.. toe 2005 ECM fixed it.

Say I buy this for my 14 1500 and I put the 91 moan on it can I unplug the reader and it still have that setting on? Main reason is because me and my brother my split one because we have identical trucks and it is expensive
pretty sure it vin locks to the first vehicle you tune. basically you can only have 1 tune at a time using this tuner, you cant tune your truck then your brothers.
In the 5.7 Hemi they have a system that cuts off some of the valves to "save" gas. But it ends up loosing power. If you own a Hemi you might be driving and notice that sometimes your exhaust gets very deep sounding. That's the valves being cut off

what from dodge spec this tool is detuning it because I owned a 2012 ram 5.7 and numbers were greater dynoed better than that here's the spec's stock 395 hp The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 produces 395 hp at 5,600 rpm and 410 lb-ft at 3,950 rpm, and gets 15 mpg city, 22 mpg highway. there's no way those are good numbers
Yes it’s 395 at the crank… yes the drivetrain has mechanical drag loss. For someone that dyno’d a stock truck, you seem to have problems understanding power curve gains against peak gains.
This thing is trash. There was very little difference when installing the 91 tune. Will be sending back and getting a tuner that actually does something fur performance.

Just installed on my 07 Hemi Ram 1500. It's a Rocket now. As it's an older vehicle, I didn't have to update. Just plug and play.

wzrubicon I've owned two and driven others and they're powerful engines. The only way I could see it lacking at all would be in the heavy duty Ram's.
How is the tow option different then the tow haul on the truck? Can you use both at the same time?

No to lights, you have switches for that. Allows you to increase it rather than removing
So I have heard that this tuner messes up the transmission shift points or the transmission in general. Can you confirm or deny?
I've had no problem with mine.
It tightened up how mine ran...less lag and less sluggish. Shifts a lot smoother. 👍🏼

The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 produces 395 hp at 5,600 rpm and 410 lb-ft at 3,950 rpm, and gets 15 mpg city, 22 mpg highway. there's no way those are good numbers
The dodge spec is at the crank, these numbers are at the the wheel. It is a bit confusing

I've seen stock 5.7 rams run anywhere from the 290's to 310 or so wheel hp.
Yes it’s 395 at the crank… yes the drivetrain has mechanical drag loss. For someone that dyno’d a stock truck, you seem to have problems understanding power curve gains against peak gains.
This thing is trash. There was very little difference when installing the 91 tune. Will be sending back and getting a tuner that actually does something fur performance.
does this work for all tunes like air intake and exhaust etc.?
