  • A customer bought a Seiko watch and wanted a link taken out. In this video i show how to take the link out of the watch and change the battery without damaging anything internally. Of course, i have professional tools but with watching this tutorial you can change the battery and or adjust the band with ease. This watch takes a 394 battery, and this watch could range from $350 to $500.

    When the battery is on the way out on these Seiko Mechaquartz movements does the subdial second hand start to stutter?, this is what's happening to mine now.

    Thank You, how do I AC reset? The sticker inside says to do an AC reset after the battery install

      Try this
      1. Obtain a small metal wire or a pair of tweezers.
      2. Locate the "AC" marking on the watch.
      3. Use one end of the wire or the tweezer to gently insert it into the area labeled "AC."
      4. Take the other end of the wire or the tweezer and touch it to the battery installed in the watch.
      5. If the previous step doesn't work, try this alternative:
      - Install the battery in the watch.
      - Remove the battery a few times while simultaneously resetting the watch with the wire/tweezer and the back of the battery.
      By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot any issues with your watch more effectively.

    In the manual it says you should perform a short circuit after changing the battery. Is it okay not to do so? Thanks for sharing this tutorial btw!

      Short circuit discharges the battery. Why would that be done on a new battery and why is it necessary on an dead battery?

    • @garyteed4u
      @garyteed4u 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, you have to perform the short circuit!

    You shouldnt touch the battery with the tweezers or bare fingers. Also you set the time to almost 2 am not pm

    Excellent! How to remove the stem?

    • @watchbatteryguy7421
      @watchbatteryguy7421  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Look for the ⬅️ symbol on the back with a magnifying glass. Wherever it points, next to it will be a small hole that you can use a needle to push down and simultaneously pulling out the stem.

    May I ask what type of movement is this Seiko? Is it a VK63?

      Start buying automatics. I have several vintage Seiko divers (6309 and 7s26) and they keep time as good as my Omega and Rolex and higher end watches I have.
